This is hands down the best Caribbean resort that we have been to. Talk about being pampered. From being checked in by the welcoming reception to the beautiful grounds, the great selection of food and drinks, the beautiful warm pool, and steps away from the beach - Perfection!!! Every room has an ocean view. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything to make our stay wonderful and memorable. We will be returning in a year if not sooner.

Our first time visiting the DR and we were fortunate to be able to book through a getaway under our timeshare. The accommodations were amazing from our newly renovated room to the stunning ocean views. Our morning breakfast and lunches at the VIP dining area was truly special as both Louisa, Carlos and the other staff were so attentive to us! Would definitely recommend for a future visit. Just a note that dinner choices, especially at the buffet restaurant left a lot to be desired and we never ate there.

Just what we were looking for. This area of the resort is private (VIK Cayena Beach). There were many time-share owners who have been coming for many years. It is attached to the larger resort called VIK Arena Blanca. As a Cayena guest, we had access to both resorts. Arena guests are limited to the Arena side only. We genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. This resort is very small which gives a personal touch. We felt safe (security guards at every entrance) and got to know other guests and some of the staff (if I knew how to speak Spanish, I would have engaged them all). Our room wasn’t fancy but it was somewhat updated (in the last 3 years). It was clean and very comfortable. It included two double beds and a pullout couch in the sitting area. The refrigerator and bathroom were stocked daily. We ate breakfast in the buffet, and dinner at the a la carte restaurant which rotated between Mexican, Italian and International. Italian was our favourite. The beach directly in front of the private resort is washed but you can enjoy the beach to the right or left (2-3 km stretch). There were plenty of sunbeds and loungers in the elevated area in from the beach so there was not a need to "reserve"/hold a spot at 7 AM. The lunch menu at Cayena Beach was amazing. We ate there every day. We plan to visit next year. I imagine it was busier and more lively pre-covid. The Arena side was only at 40% capacity. The nightlife, unfortunately, was dismal. But the staff tried so I give them an A for their efforts. I hope, for the sake of the resort, business picks up. I heard that a lot of staff were let go because of less bookings. So sad. We tipped a bit more than usual to help out the workers. Just one CON: we backed onto the adjacent resort which played loud music until 11:30 PM (for two nights out of the seven).

Very clean and small resort. Very outdated. The biggest disappointment was no entertainment and the wifi sucked everywhere on site! The staff are somewhat friendly! The lobby doesnt have a bar that you can sit and have a drink! We overpaid for this place

The Cayena Beach is adjacent to the VIK Arena Blanca. The Cayena Beach is actually a time share you can rent out. My wife and I bought into the time share many years ago and have traveled to the Cayena Beach except for the COVID years when testing was required to get back to the US. We liked the place because both it and Arena Blanca are small. Arena Blanca caters to Europeans and lately the place was full of Russians, but since the war countries do not allow Russian air travel in their air space so the place was empty. While Cayena Beach has its own pool that is always empty, I never counted more than 25 or 30 people at Arena Blanca's big central pool. In fact it was so empty I wondered how they could keep the doors open. The Cayena Beach has its own restaurant for breakfasts and lunches, but dinners are eaten on the Arena Blanca side. Only one specialty restaurant was open that rotated Italian, Mexican, and an eclectic array of foods. Of course, the main buffet was open also. Unfortunately, the quality of food has declined in the years we have been gong there. Since the place was empty, I understand why. The beach on the Cayena Beach side is small and abuts a low wooden sea wall above which are the chairs for the guests. Never an issue in getting whatever we wanted even though the early morning towel throwers were out, primarily Canadian and German. The rooms at Cayena Beach are nice with balconies and a sitting area off the bedroom. They could use some sprucing up, but he old and crumbling look is OK with me since I, too, am old and crumbling. Nights are quiet since there is no disco open, but ftom the average age of guests I observed I doubt it would be used. If you are young and looking to drink all day and party all nite, this place is not for you. As usual, every Dominican I met was exceptionally nice. These folks need tips and since the place was empty I tried to up my usual. It was appreciated. Of course, the manager, Barbara, was her usual joyful and efficient self as was Melanie. I have done some traveling and these two cannot be beat. Finally, we still like the place and will return this summer. My advice to VIK would be to improve the food and keep it hotter. If that were done, Cayena Beach would be perfect for R and R if you are out of your party years.

My husband and I have travelled to Punta Cana numerous times, but it was our first visit to the Vik Cayena Beach Resort....it will not be our last. Looking for something smaller and more personal was the reason we chose this resort and we were not disappointed!! The service in all areas of the resort was top notch. The food was amazing, the private beach and pool area was beautiful and the rooms were clean, well equipped and had a beautiful view from your private deck. The grounds were well maintained and there was never a shortage of beach or pool loungers, or beach towels....something that tends to be in short supply at other resorts we have visited. Staff were extremely friendly and were more than willing to do whatever was needed to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We can't wait to return!

I just visited Vik Hotel Cayena Blanca last week with friends and we had a great time, the staff was super friendly and hospitable. I had an awesome massage on the beach. Food was delicious. Covid precautions were in effect and we felt it was a safe and clean environment. I would definitely recommend for the budget traveler.

We went during covid-19 so our expectations were very tempered. The staff at this resort are very hardworking and professional. The property is in excellent shape. It's a small resort with a great beach.

First the good stuff: Excellent location; decent facilities; reception staff very helpful; many of the staff are good and try their best. The reason it does not get a 4 star is because there is no consistency in the quality of food, service and some of the areas like the wine they serve on the all inclusive is undrinkable! While I understand that one cannot expect very good quality wine, this was awful. The seafood tempura that was served one day was the worst plate of food I had had in a long time served in a professional setting. They seem to cater to those who like quantity rather than quality when it comes to food and drink.

Dear Varadarajan, We would like to thank you very much for having stayed with us and for taking your valuable time to share your experiences with us. Your kind words on location, facilities, reception and other staff are very much appreciated and so are your comments on food and drinks. We are truly sorry to hear that the wine and food quality, especially the seafood tempura did not live up to your expectations. You can rest assured that we will discuss these points with our F&B manager in order to improve our services. Hopefully the good memories outweigh and will consider our resort for another vacation in the future.
