Myself, my wife and 4 friends just returned from this resort a few days ago. In short, the beach is SPECTACULAR, but the service is substandard. If you've stayed at other Rius before, don't expect the same level of service here.
Beach- fantastic. Lots of...More

The visual appeal of the resort is an asset. Pool areas, dining hall, lobby, beach areas, landscaping.....all reflect a strong level of capital investment. Good storefront.

You can walk on the other properties but you cannot utilize any facilities except Naiboa. The resort is 5 hotels next to each other- you can use facilities down but not up. Bambu is 2nd tier. This resort uses arm bands so they know which resort you belong to. I would honestly pay the money to go one resort level up. Because then you get room service. Bambu has no room service. It was good for a five day vacation to get away from the snow, but if you’re looking for luxury I would go with Dreams La Romana. It’s on the Caribbean side so there’s no seaweed, no sandflies and the water is much warmer. Have a great vacation!
