This resort has probably one of the best facilities in Punta Cana, but the entire experience is geared towards the French market, making it very difficult of Americans and even other Latin cultures to fit in.
After being cancelled from Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda due to the pandemic, we were reluctantly placed at Club Med Punta Cana. However, any hesitancy quickly dissipated after check-in and settling into the Club Med spirit. This is our second visit to Club Med Punta Cana, and they really do a wonderful job of making it safe, active, fun and easy. Something that other all-inclusive resorts just don't do. The suite at Tiara 5T Exclusive Collection space is incredible. Accommodations are large boasting a master and bath en suite and a children's room fitted with two single beds and their own shower bathroom. They have recently been updated with a clean and modern style. The housekeeping team (managed by Wendy) do a phenomenal job of maintaining the suites as they are cleaned thoroughly every morning and at turn down offering a very safe and comfortable living space for guests. It's nice to experience resort living and regular cleaning of accommodations again post-pandemic. In addition, the team at Tiara (GOs Christelle, Wendy, Max and Lupita, as well as the various local employees like Castillo, Maria, Juan and Aneudy) have spoiled us from the moment we arrived. We couldn't be happier. Club Med Punta Cana's activity list runs the gamut from golf to tennis, sailing to yoga, and salsa to Zumba. And that's just to name a few. I spent my entire week focusing on tennis with Miguel and Ramon, and golf with Jorge. They are all excellent coaches...and great people! Ones I wish I had when I was growing up. But I'll take any time with all of them. They all offered very specific strategies on how to improve my tennis and golf games. …
It was a dream come true to return to Club Med Punta Cana with my wife and toddler after having been privileged and fortunate to visit as an adolescent in the 1980’s. Back then, I adored attending the kids club for its competitive sports, arcade Game Center (perhaps this was ClubMed Eleuthera), and activities that included daylong excursions to sandbars or lagoons, water-skiing, scuba-diving, trapeze and trampoline acrobatics, and rehearsing for the week-ending show. I also recall running as fast as I could each morning to grab what was left of the fresh, delicious and completely novel pains aux chocolats from the caffeteria’s most frequented chafing dish or, later, dashing to find palm leaves to reserve my sisters and parents enough front row seats for the evening show. There was only one dining hall back then, and GM’s used beads to buy drinks - I relished the green bottles of 7up, the “un-cola” - at the quaint poolside bar. Times have changed. The beads are gone, there’s no need to risk life and limb for croissants before they run out, and the bars have multiplied: I counted four. Of course, while I was far too old to attend the kids club, I did enjoy my return to one of Club Med’s largest resorts and I think my family did, too. The Zen Oasis is a remarkable new addition that has, in my opinion, the best bar in the resort, and an addicting over-18 atmosphere: it’s incredibly peaceful, the pool delightfully long and the hot tub is hot and bubbly - however note that if you’re looking for a massaging jet, you won’t find one. If you have to hustle for anything, it's to reserve a poolside shelter in the morning although they open up often throughout the day and there are plenty of lounge deck chairs. The cafeteria-style restaurants have doubled (there are two: the breezy Hispaniola overlooks the ocean and the original, redesigned Samana remains further inland close to reception with more options perhaps, with better food it’s said (I really couldn't tell a difference - both are fantastic), but can be prone to more flies indoors at the end of lunchtime or mosquitoes in the evening if it’s rained recently). If you’ve never been to Club Med or the Caribbean, I challenge you to find better buffet-style all-you-can eat food at an inclusive resort. I’ll be the first to admit my experience has been limited: after experiencing Club Med Punta Cana, why try anywhere else? The staff wore masks at the restaurants, and guests were encouraged/required(?) to wear masks while fetching buffet food at both restaurants, despite the Hispaniola’s breeziness, but not once seated. I was so grateful that the club was open at all this past May that this seemed a very minor if somewhat absurd annoyance. Yeliza and Eva took good care of us and our young son at the Hispaniola where we went for almost all of our meals (it was very close to our room). We were grateful to Ismael who kept things moving across the grill at breakfast. There are also new custom restaurants (offering gourmet dining at an additional cost), a limited-menu lounge “Indigo” by one of the ocean bars (don’t skip the panna cotta - we returned multiple times for this fabulous dish - and the welcoming staff - the doting Angela treated us like family-royalty), a rum and cigar shop bar (ok, make that total five bars…), a spa (by l’Occitaine purveying an oceanside oily “ClubMed Signature massage” which I give 6/10 stars: opt for the “deep tissue” and see how that goes - remember to bring USD to tip). We opted for a week of daycare at an additional charge, allowing us to have a true vacation, and affording our son peers, French immersion and activities - much more than we could offer him. We handed him off to the warm, talented all-Hatian staff on Monday morning and tried not to look back. It took him (and us) a few days to adjust to the separation, but he (and we) did. By the end of our stay, our son had made friends and even bonded with an especially warm and attentive childcare provider named Sowaya. Sowaya was amazing. Kind, gentle, and involved, with a genuine interest in childcare, Sowaya had a way with our son that set our minds at ease. Sowaya even joined our family for dinner on our third evening to help understand our parenting style and for her presence to build even deeper trust. Our son played, ate at mealtimes, and took long naps. He came back one night singing Frozen's "Let It Go" and hasn't stopped since. We picked him up at the end of each day happy, healthy and, importantly, sunburn- and suntan-free. While our son was being looked after, we learned Archery from Anderson (a friendly and patient teacher), danced and moved underwater during Emmanuel’s very entertaining aquagym class, hit tennis balls and goofed among new friends in the daily Advanced Tennis class led by Esteban, and worked our cores in an abs and glutes class while staring at the beach and being cooled by that unforgettable Punta Cana breeze. My favorite thing was joining impromptu volleyball matches held twice daily, breaking only to rehydrate with fresh mint mojitos or ice cold mochaccinos. Some downsides were the coffee - at the cafeterias it was subpar even for non-snobs. That goes for the wine and a beer - on the plus side this means you won't ever drink very much of either. The beer was good at Cafe Indigo, though. We had an expensive swimming suit stolen from our first floor balcony, so unfortunately I don’t recommend leaving things out to dry during the day if you have a first floor balcony (management did nothing to address the complaint but point me to lost and found). The ac dripped from the ceiling causing a puddle of water which made our young son slip and hit his head. The floors in the rooms can be very slippery - they’re not designed for toddlers - so I recommend placing the blue pool towels down if need be (the rooms haven’t changed in a long time, save for the addition of a television - which we never turned on). I was surprised how slowly the Club addressed this liability. There are very few outlets in the rooms so bring a power strip if you need to plug in a white-noise machine, a baby monitor, etc. The internet is weak unless you pay for it. Bring swim diapers if you send any pre-potty-trained GM’s to ptit club. These cost a small fortune from the boutique. There were too-expensive-for-me-but-maybe-going-to-do-it-next-time-if-i’m-rich kite surfing lessons at $160 dollars a lesson (you needed to complete three lessons to rent) or per hour. What really made our experience so wonderful at ClubMed Punta Cana was our interactions with staff, our connections with guests, the trust and ease of daycare, and the choose-your-own adventure atmosphere. I still can’t wait to go back.…
Club med in punta Cana was simply amazing. Super great buffet beyond any other buffet, didn’t even feel like a buffet with plated dishes. Best night italien with delicious osso bucco. The pro golf Augustin was so professional and patient. He took care of everything and our focus was on learning.. we really improved our game . His teaching methods went over and above any expectations. Great approach !!! Thanks for an amazing vacations..
Fourth time we visited Club Med Punta Cana. The property is in a great shape and we enjoyed everything it had to offer. Special thanks goes to Ramon and the tennis team, they are the main reason we keep on coming back to the resort. I would also like to recognize restaurant servers Hector & Joana, they are exceptional hospitality professionals. Club Med is lucky to have them on their team!
We had an amazing stay at Clubmed Punta Cana. Transfer from the airport was very swift, it took only 10 minutes. We had two rooms: one was a Family Suite in the Tiara Exclusive Collection area and rhe other one was a Deluxe double room in the Zen area. The private minivan that took us from the airport dropped us right at the reception of Tiara and there were the very lovely and friendly Dilya, Kiana and of course the amazingly charismatic resident manager Christelle to welcome us. Check-in was very fast. Lovely Morgane from the Zen area also ensured a smooth check-in for our second room in the Zen area. The Tiara Exclusive Collection Family suite was extremely spacious. The parents room had ensuite bathroom with double sink and separate wc and bath. The children’s room was very spacious too with two very comfortable beds. Decoration was beautiful. The suite had a stunning view over the ocean which we could enjoy from our Private Bali bed and the porch with beautiful garden. We were accompanied to our rooms by Christelle and Dilya in Tiara and by Morgane in Zen who made sure that every single detail was in order. Atmosphere in Tiara was very chill and relaxed and also very cool at night with a diferent theme every single day. Dj’s or live singing during apéritif and the presence of lovely Christelle every single night at Tiara ensured amazing holiday vibes. We also loved the barbecues, wraps and salads at lunch at Tiara which were of very high standards. And of course the very friendly service of Tito, Castillo and Daniel. During the day we enjoyed the very vast facilities thoughout the resort but we were very happy to come back to Tiara which was slightly more private and cleanliness was top. Beaches were amazing with white sand and lovely see through turquoise waters. There was some seaweed but this was not disturbing. Part of the beach was for adults only which was lovely. The Zen area had amazing rooms with design decoration. Atmosphere in the central area of the resort was amazing every night. So many thanks to all the staff and in particular to Christelle, Dilya, Kania, Tito, Castillo, Daniel of Tiara and Morgane of Zen for their kindness and friendlyness and ensuring this amazing holiday for us!!!!…
We just came back for a 2 weeks vacation. The place is beautiful with an insane amount of activities and well organized events (sport events and fun events like BBQ on the beach... ). The G.O team is amazing, very professional. Thank you Abdel, Guillaume, Romain, Ludivine best team ever. And the zen team is just incredibly welcoming and so careful of your well-being druing your whole stay. Thank you again for this memories we shared, it was beyond our expectations. Elisa and Pascal Cohen
I’ve expected more from a Club Med located on a shoreline like this one and even in Punta Cana. All the best activities are not included in the "all-inclusive-price" which is really astonishing regarding the way it is elevated. The service is really slow : we had a issue about changing TV channel we called the front desk 7 times they told us they will send a technician but no one showed up. It doesn’t have the quality of service of a 4 starred hotel. Housekeeping is superficial. Customer service is not very good as mentioned earlier. Plus, Bartenders are often unpleasant. The only reason I’m giving 2 scores is the way the monitors were very nice with us ( THANK YOU SENDIA ;), SAM, SERGE, DODO AND SENDER!!!!! You are the best so bad we didn’t have the chance to do all the activities with you. Those last days were so fun with you!) Samana restaurant was ok but no plus. (The only good point was the kindness of the waiteress Orquidea, Gisela )…
Of course there are always some small things to improve, but Club Med remains Club Med. Sailing, Sports, good food, wonderful Zen area, etc ... We simply had wonderful holidays. The location at the sea is incredible and the Village Management Team was really helpful and available.
We went to Club med Punta Cana at the end of June-July 2022. We have been to other Club Meds before but the PC kids club is the best. First and foremost, the staff/GOs is caring, enthusiastic, patient and responsible. My kids loved going to the Club. A special thank you to Loulou, Julie, Jay and Ralph that took especially great care of the 8-10 year old group and to Pierre, Jenny. PeterPan, Mafalda, Anna and Gaetan that made our 4-5 year olds feel safe. Kids had up to 8 choices of activities to do per day, so they got to pick what they wanted to do and the end of week show they prepare with our kids is amazing. My kids have already requested that we return to Club Med in PC only in the future. Thanks all!
