Beautiful resort with good service! I haven't seen any bed bugs that some people are complaining about. But there are other things to complain about. BOOKING I have booked directly on their site. A week before arrival I called to check on the booking and verify COVID requirements. But when we arrived, they could not find the booking, turned out it was canceled in their system, without notifying me or refunding the money. Took them several hours to restore the booking. THE ROOM We got a swim-up room that was beautiful. Near the main pool and the ocean! The best choice for this hotel! Looks like they had just recently renovated these rooms. Unfortunately, AC in the room was not working from day one. On day two when I realized that I called the technician. He came immediately and fix something, so it started working but not powerful enough. We waited for a couple of more days before complaining again. Another technician came within minutes to test, this time they told that we need to switch room as the AC won't work. So we did. Funny part that while switching rooms they showed us another room with the same problem. When we got a room with a working AC, we’ve noticed that the original room with the broken ac got occupied the next day we got out from there. Can't imagine that they fixed that AC that fast! But cuddos for immediate attention to a complain. ROOM SERVICE & RESTAURANTS Room service was always fast without problems. Service in restaurants is ok but could be better. Some restaurants are closed due to COVID, which I understand. But the open ones could have much better food. The Greek restaurant for example ran out of all the most popular dishes by 9 pm when we got there! In general, the food in this resort is mediocre. Don't come here for food, you'll be disappointed! Stake house is the best restaurant here. THE DRINKS No premium alcohol is included. Not a big issue as there is plenty to drink, but don't expect all you can drink Grey Goose, or Hennessy! THE BEACH Amazing, with enough chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, etc. The service on a beach is ok too. Love the paella they make right on the beach for a quick bite! THE SPA We got couples massage on the beach! Was amazing. THE CLUB They send you the email about a free gift they have for you in the lobby. It's a catch for a PRIVILEGE CLUB where they try to sell you sort of timeshare. Don't fall for it. Waste of time unless you really need a $50 gift card. CONCLUSION Good choice if you like a quiet resort with swim-up rooms. Despite some setbacks, we left with a good feeling of a successful vacation!

COVID makes everything different. We enjoyed our stay at Ambar. Almost all the staff were friendly and wanting to make our vacation experience great! Walter and John in entertainment, Marlene, Bianca and Carlos at pool bar, Santiago, Jenny and Nono at the meals to name a few went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. Luis was the only worker that made us think he didn’t enjoy his job, but all the rest were wonderful. The hotel and views were amazing. We already want to go back when things are “normal” and hope there will be more nightlife.

terrible and disastrous experience .. the first thing is that before booking I call the call center and they assist me from Spain telling me that it is the best hotel in Punta Cana at the moment in addition to this they tell me that alcoholic beverages take it to the room, action which is a pure lie because when I arrive, the first thing they tell me is that alcoholic beverages are not brought to the room, this being an adults-only hotel .. at the time of making my observations when making the payment, add a comment about the room Being a Swim Up that was a private area ... which was not the case, they assigned me a room in the main hall, they gave me the room after 4 pm which was not an apology for that, so they also changed the room 2 times .. my partner and I went to the reception to talk to the girl who checked us in. "Mercedes" unfriendly and unmotivated in her work, she was not There we escalated our concern to Mr. Hadel, he himself said that he would have an answer or compensation which was not the case .. if he could return the time or try to pay there everything was a disaster from the first day .. I can only highlight Carlos's service At the pool bar who was super diligent ... of all the bad things, something good remains and that is that I would not recommend to those close to me nor would I go back to this hotel.

We recently spent 5 days at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. Overall, it was great to be able to get somewhere tropical, spend time with friends, and have some great weather. However, our experience was so/so and this resort definitely has some areas due for improvement. First off, our airport transfer and check in experience was seamless. We arrived, our rooms were ready, and we got right out to the pool. We had a group of 3 couples, each with a swim up room, which I’ve done before and will probably choose every time. The rooms were spacious and clean (the whole resort was very clean). Opportunities for improvement would definitely be the food – none of it wowed us, and not being able to get close to the buffet yourself makes it hard to know what anything is, and the staff weren’t very helpful in that regard. The best meal we had was a grilled half of chicken that they offered one day at the beach shack. While most of the staff were pleasant, there were a few – notably the restaurant/buffet staff – that were not. One woman even said something under her breath and rolled her eyes when I ordered an omelet 20 minutes before breakfast ended. At the Mexican restaurant, Tequila, the servers never came back to our table after dropping off our entrees – and we wanted dessert but even though we tried to get their attention, no one came back to check on us at all. However, what I will definitely rave about as the HIGH POINT of our trip, was the pool. The pool itself is huge, right off the beach, plenty of space – we had no trouble finding a place to land each day, and very clean. Desiree and Hanler were AMAZING. Every single day they had smiles and were friendly, attentive, and really just helped make the experience more positive. Overall, we had a good time with our fun group. I always leave very honest reviews so while I probably wouldn’t return to this resort, I will say it was worth trying out and there were definitely some high notes to our trip. If you go, make sure you find Desiree and Hanler at the pool!!

The service is very good, the people are full of joy, always having a smile on their faces. There is a wide variety of foods that you can try here, from burgers to salads to pasta. I truly recommend this place!
