Overall a great trip away - weather was fantastic, beach was beautiful. A couple overall comments about the hotel. - Check in was extremely slow. considering only 3 couples came off our bus from the airport this should have been quick. Instead - took over 30 minutes - Service at the buffet was the worst I have ever experienced at an all inclusive resort. Extremely slow, at times breakfast would be done and we still weren't asked if we wanted coffee or water. - Staff did not speak english. This made communication very difficult. - Overall a la cartes were fantastic! Only complaint is our experience at the tequila restaurant was awful. We sat through an hour dinner - not once were we asked if we wanted a drink. Seemed as if staff dropped off our food and ran away before we could get a word in. - would be helpful if there was a drink menu as the staff doesnt speak english would be helpful to have a list to chose from Overall: - pool bar is great - entertainment staff are great - grounds are beautiful and clean - food is good - hotel needs to improve on their customer service…
Great hotel. A lot of possibilities, activities and delicious dinners in themed restaurants. Everything can be ordered via the app. Coming back to activity - great team of animators! 💚 Very nice, fun and dancing! However, with great class they encourage. They allow you to relax. The greatest appreciation for Dolfis - we love you!💚
We were super grateful to be getting away during the pandemic and we've traveled extensively since 2020 so we expected things like long waits for drinks, restaurant and amenity closures, but we were not expecting such unfriendly (sometimes hostile, lol!) service from hotel staff. Not sure if it was a combination of staffing shortage and a drastic language barrier (very few staff members including bar tenders, cleaning folks, servers, etc understood English) but it normally took 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee at the breakfast buffet and if you asked for anything, like a glass of water we were greeted with eyerolls or blank looks from wait staff. We also experienced a fairly terrifying incident during a hotel-sanctioned excursion where a Bahia Principe guest literally got into a fist fight with our excursion bus driver and the police were called. We feel the hotel manager handled the situation terribly (did not ask if we were okay, or even offer condolences and my husband left with a stranger's blood on his clothes!). The quality of clientele was unfortunately sub bar due to Covid-based rate decreases, and we didn't really feel safe walking around the property at night. My recommendation would be to stay at the neighboring Iberostar or Royalton Resorts (we met couples staying there for similar rates and they raved about the services and amenities). I do want to at least note the positives....good food, clean rooms and the beach was beautiful. If you do chose the Bahia, we would strongly recommend upgrading to their adults only Ambar property, which sits directly on the beach and had better service, from what we heard from others we met during our stay.…
This place couple be amazing. In some ways it truly is, the staff for instance, especially Bethania but all of the pool bar people were amazing! Went above and beyond. The cocktails though were foul and the wine wasn't drinkable- absolutely disgusting. The food was ok but boring. There was nothing to make me think this was above a nice 3* place. Definitely get the nicer room! I'm glad we did. Maybe in 83 block so not as noisy at night!
This resort is a massive outbreak waiting to happen. It's being handled extremely poorly, especially considering this is a 5 Star Resort. I had expected some professionalism. If you are concerned about contracting COVID, do not come here. It's extremely high risk. The Buffet: customers are at the buffet frequently with either no mask at all, or their nose above the mask, which is useless. This is totally common and accepted by staff - the staff sees it and does nothing. An infected person can be breathing over dozens of peoples food at any time. It's really disgusting. The Snack Bar: again - guests attend the self serve buffet here with zero masks. You might see an entire group of friends, all mask-less, hovering over the food for minutes at a time. I said something to a staff member today, and they shrugged me off. It's very odd - they make you use a plastic glove (which is great) and then allow you to breathe all over the food. Dozens and dozens of people every hour, breathing all over the food. The Gym: when you attend the gym, you're told that you must wear a mask at all times. However, half the people working out have no mask on at all, and many others have their nose out. I get it, it's no fun working out with a mask on. But what's happening here is totally unsafe. This is a closed space with little ventilation. The staff watch it happen and say nothing as people are on treadmills breathing heavy with no mask just a few feet from you. What I am describing here is non-stop. It's the norm, all day every day. Avoid this resort if you believe in protecting yourself and the public.…
