we got to the resort at around noon , gate keeper came to greet us ! the got to main lobby and was greeted with champaign and towel . bellboy got our bags then brought us to our private lobby to check in ! check in was amasing ! went to rosewater to eat diner (one of the best restaurants) had a little hick up getting our bags to the room! but they got to the room around 7ish. but thats the only negative! the rest of the week was like a dream food , service , booze, staff . we fell in love with this place ! Hector the towel guy was the best there'd our butler ( J.P ) was great guy! staff at the preferred club beach were amazing @! tip don't tip service was the best ( please tip they do deserve it ) we had a la carte restaurants breakfast , lunch and diner . all were amassing (food staff) bar at the preferred club lobby was very cozy with great scotch and quality drinks.

This was our third stay and honestly we did not want to leave! This resort is absolutely beautiful and the staff is beyond amazing, not sure what you could ever ask for more in a resort. As we have said in our previous reviews, this has become our second home, once a year, and our extended family forever. Upon arrival we were already recognized and were welcomed with open arms. As we already knew the routine of the check-in process, we walked on down to the Preferred Club Lounge and met with STEVES. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this gentleman. He is our Dominican Family, as we keep in touch all throughout the year and can't wait to come back to see his smiling face. He is one of kind and special to us. As he escorted us to our room it was like we had never left and were truly coming back home. Our Room... Our Room Was Absolutely Breathtaking!!! It was truly an escape within our escape and Steves' special treatment throughout the week was by above and beyond what we could ever dream of. When we walked into our room all we could see was the beautiful blue/teal waters out the doors of our oceanfront swim out suite. As we told him, he completely spoiled us this year as I honestly don't know how he could ever top this experience. Usually we mingle throughout the resort all week, but this year we stayed most of our time at our room since we could want for nothing. We are very low key/low maintenance guests, but everyone always went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Once again Felix was pleasant face to greet us every morning, either at our swim out or on the beach, and fulfilled one of my bucket list items by getting fresh coconuts for me. Of course we can't go without mentioning Omar and Clara, we looked forward to every evening to seeing them at dinner. No matter where we dined, which was usually with them, they made sure we were taken care of. The food is, as always, amazing. We were a little disappointed that the resort had changed some of the menus but Omar always made sure we had our favorites and always had a little surprise for us each day or evening and any special requests. So thankful to them for our special Anniversary Dinner that was a complete surprise to us and so thoughfully planned. If anyone is ever hesitant to go here, don't be, as it truly is a beautiful resort. The beach is expansive, the amenities are more than you could wish for, the food is delicious and has a great variety, the staff is beyond accommodating and welcoming. We are ready to return as soon as possible. We love this resort and are looking forward to our fourth year in a row. This resort has a special place in our hearts and can't wait to see everyone again.

Like others have said, it’s a beautiful resort with outstanding people working there. Unfortunately we also got caught up in the border closing, leave ASAP dilemma. The Amstar reps were very limited in what they could do, but their sister company FunJet and parent company ALG was a complete and utter joke providing assistance.

I would have given this resort a rating of 5 because March break started out great at this resort, but when closing the resort due to COVID 19, guests were kicked to the curb. Other than expected safety measures which no one was complaining about, the following occurred: Watering down the alcohol on Thursday, with no alcohol at all from Friday on, turning water temperatures down in the room showers, and low water pressure which caused toilets not to flush in pool and beach areas, removing soap, hand sanitizer, and hand towels from the bathrooms near the beach, no restaurants open on Friday March 20 with no food available other than the cold buffet scrap slop packages doled out to guests, (mine included a half-cooked bare pork chop bone and an odd piece of this and that). On Saturday, only some guests got a box of breakfast sent to their rooms. These particular things had nothing to do with the government issued imperative. Even though we pre-paid for All Inclusive, all this company was worried about was saving money because they were going to have to close down. We had a scheduled Saturday departure flight, whereas people scheduled to fly out Sunday lost three days of vacation amenities to their All Inclusive vacation. The red carpet was rolled up and put away by Thursday, and no one got their full money's worth. It felt like the resort seemed to be trying hard to force us out early. Service staff was great throughout, trying hard to minimize the impact by doing whatever they could.
