...If you like party atmosphere go next door to Breathless (9-10pm time frame) and enjoy the entertainment and DJ/Dancing...

...The atmosphere is a little more laid back, however you have access to Breathless if you prefer more of a party scene... Towards the end of our trip, our favorite bartender (David— Prelude Bar) organized along with our husbands a band to play for our our small group near the pool...

...We were there over Halloween and they even put up a ton of decorations all around the resort...

...The nightly shows were great, and all in all the entire resort and staff was just amazing and very family friendly...

...If you want your room cool at night, go somewhere else. They have a motion sensor controlling the ac and unless you sleep walk the room gets warm and humid during the night...

...There was definitely water damage/humidity damage in our room. When we walked in it smelled like mildew and then upon further inspection there was mold on the couch, curtain, and cabinet where the mini fridge was... It was brought to the attention of the staff who offered either another room the following day once it was available or to replace the moldy couch and curtains... We appreciated their willingness to rectify the situation but overall weren’t really impressed with the condition of the room...

...The mattresses in our rooms are in desperate need of replacement (badly con-caved to the point where we can sleep)and the pillows are bricks that are way too thick...

...Rooms are average, tried selling us preferred club on arrival for an extra 80 dollars each per night!l to upgrade to a ‘proper suite’ We actually Booked a suite with a whirlpool. When we arrived he said oh that’s just our basic room!... So basically they are selling a standard room as a suite, it’s not, totally Mis-sold!... Rooms are tired, crack on aircon screen so couldn’t change it, doors off hinges, leaking shower into toilet making it dangerously slippery, television didn’t work, usb points don’t work, hairdryer is loose in sockets and they spark, room service food is something to be desired, I’d expect that in a 2/3star!!...

...We originally booked to stay at Dreams Flora but was moved to Dreams Onxy due to a delay in opening and at first I was concerned, however we were provided with the Preferred Club experience and it didn’t disappoint... He even arranged a bottle of fizz to be delivered to our room, rose petals on the bed one evening and a lovely farewell dinner for us at our favourite French restaurant... However there was a slight damp smell to our room which you could smell even more on our clothes once we returned home... We stayed in room 5172 which was a swim up, this connected to the main pool which was very busy & loud so we opted to spend our time round the adults only pool which was perfect for us and very close to our room...

...We had preferred rooms which came with many preferred club amenities... He ensured we had dinner reservations for all 6 of us each night, took care of any room issues that came up ( our TV was not working which he resolved and a friend's jacuzzi was not getting warm which he also resolved)... The rooms were beautiful and well kept... The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the room descriptions were not exactly as described... We had the Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean Front and the view faced the preferred club pool with the ocean in the very back of your view...

...Once we were assigned our room 5266 we were then greeted by our Butler, Nelson which by the way was amazing!... He made sure that there was balloon decorations in the room for my boyfriend's birthday and he text everyday to make sure we were good and to see if we needed anything... The room had a mildew smell and there was mold on the lamp... Although the room was cleaned daily the bed always felt wet because of the humidity in the room and the smell was so bad that it reminded me of someone having a cat and not cleaning the litter box... Nelson checked and a the resort was booked so nothing was available...So we just dealt with it... I just did not like the smell in the room, wet beds from the humidity and the mold on the lamps...

...Our butler, Zorro went above and beyond for all of our needs including booking all of our dinners, having drinks delivered before dinner, contacting us every morning to see if we needed anything to start our day, had our rooms decorated for mine and my cousins birthdays with balloons, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and even surprised us with birthday cakes at dinner one night...

...Just like the rest of the bad reviews I can confirm the rooms smell of mold and mildew... I’ve changed rooms now three times...

...The maid service cleans your room every day and gives you new towels. Bring damprid as the rooms are humid at first but it gets better after a few hours... He always made sure we had everything we needed for our room and was checking in on us from time to time... When we arrived at the resort our room wasn’t quite ready yet and we had to wait a couple of hours so he comped a day on the “private islands” at the preferred pool for our troubles without us even asking... He drove us there in a golf cart and while we were there he set up a surprise of wine and chocolate covered strawberries in our room...

Our stay at Dreams Onyx was absolutely amazing... The rooms are decent and well kept... I feel like room service was running all day and they made sure you had everything you needed...

We upgraded our room and this came with butler service in the shape of Juan who made sure that everything we needed was taken care of and arranged for our room to be decorated for my wife’s birthday... Our room was very spacious and really clean with the mini bar filled daily...

I asked for bedslippers (pantuflas in Spanish) and it took two days to receive them... I ordered churrasco steak at the steakhouse and I couldn’t eat it as it was burnt... We asked for a crib in advance but couldn’t get one so brought our own...

We're currently at the resort, booked a Junior Suite and leaving in 2 days, We're a young family of 3 with a toddler and this is our 2nd time in DR, we're beyond frustrated and disappointed with the overall experience at this resort, having been to multiple all inclusives our expectations were hardly met, which is very surprising, with this resort being a member of the Hyatt brand family. Both myself and toddler ended up falling sick here and every single time we tried to give this place a second chance , things just kept getting worse... It's best to be cautious and not waste your money, time and vacation days in booking a trip here!!...

...We did not upgrade our room to Preferred Club since our room was what we wanted, but purchased Preferred Club services. We feel it was clearly a waste of money... The butler service was not available with this option and most of the benefits, such as use of designated pool with the swim up bar, we didn’t want to use...

I highly recommend booking preferred as its not too much more than a regular room (accommodations are the same) but gives you access the additional pools and food/bars... My only word of caution, is the avoid the “premier vacation club” folks who will hit you up right after check-in...

...The dinner was very rushed, huge queues for the restaurant and forced out within an hour, with the staff waiting at your side to take your plate...

I wish my trip really was a dream cause staying here was a nightmare... Had to call to get our rooms cleaned everyday…what kind of resort does that?!... Ppl going on vacation to relax not to have a bunch of ppl selling junk... They have only one waffle iron…what kind of sense does that make... What really got me is that my wife and I wasted half of a day listening to their sales pitch about buying into their vacation resorts... They put us in a room to listen to more of this crap... We said NO three to four times….never ever again will I do that…so please be on the lookout it’s not worth their phony $100...

...The pillows are not comfy and we requested different kinds (an option they have available on their app) and were told the other pillows are only for preferred members... If you try to get your spa credits, be prepared for them to sit you down and try to sell a time share... Make sure to Bring your own cash change... Concierge and front desk could not / would not make change for us...

...Lastly I highly recommend if you travel to this property choose the preferred option and take advantage of the premium selection at the preferred club, whenever we entered the preferred club we were greeted warmly and welcomed by folks like the wonderful Pamela...

Beach was cleaned daily to many peddlers on beach only problem...

During the time I was there the beaches were fine and well kept... Each morning they were raking and doing the hard work of removing any excess seaweed from the tide...

...The pool and grounds are immaculate, the entertainment staff are very friendly especially coco who is very helpful and good with our kids ... The beach is spotless no seaweed at all even after the hurricane the beach was cleared within hours , we love visiting there daily after having lunch at the snack bar ...

...Zorilla (Zoro) was an amazing asset to our vacation on so many levels from dining reserevations (yes strongly advised for larger groups), to every extra little detail spa reservations to making sure eery one of our requests no matter how small or last minute was met. His persona was warm and inviting and we were truly blessed to have him assigned to us... Xavier at poolside not matter where we were in the preferred area was on top of itm personalm friendly and had a great sense of humor...

...All the staff were incredibly friendly towards us... Everyone we met at Breathless told us that Dreams was better, despite ours allowing kids... Our butler Juan that came with being a preferred club member enhanced our stay and made our final evening incredibly romantic... I would recommend being a preferred member because you get a butler to help you with everything, you are able to eat breakfast and lunch from the buffet inside with a/c, and you get access to an adults only pool... Nelis was a lovely woman who worked at the preferred adults only pool and was so incredibly sweet... We kept coming back for her service and when we left, she gave us a hug goodbye... Thank you Juan and Nelis, and everyone else who made our stay incredible!...

...As a preferred guest our Butler Juan was personable, helpful and did an awesome job in planning my birthday surprise... There was a variety of food at the buffet for diversified groups, however we found that the staff should have a better command of English and some lack the importance of of equitable customer service... On three different occasions we had to politely educate staff members of the importance of treating all guest with the same level of courtesy... In one incident, even after three requests the waiter failed to bring the requested drink, only on the fourth request when the manager was informed did he make an attempt to serve the table, at which time we had decided to forgo the drink... We did address this situation with the young lady the next morning, and even at that point we had to ask her to escort us to the preferred area... While shopping in one of the gift shops the young lady assisting my husband in finding a purse somehow navigated to assist another couple which was already being helped by two other staff members... The couple made no purchase while my husband purchased two items after educating the young lady about good customer service, which I believe she understood the point clearly... In general the staff were for the most part friendly...

...I can’t say enough good things about the property and staff. From the time we arrived to the time we left there was never a need that was not taken care of... When we got there we were immediately introduced to our personal “butler” for the weekend, Zorro... He took us in the golf cart to tour the property and then brought us to our rooms... He made us reservations each night at the restaurants and helped us reserve a beach cabana one day and a pool cabana the next, both of which had a dedicated waiter who brought us drinks and food all day whenever we needed... Zorro was so kind and reassuring to us and really made us feel safe... He even sent us strawberries and champagne to celebrate, helped blow up the floats we brought for our friend, and so much more... We had his what’s app contact so we could message him about anything whenever... Our rooms were really lovely and cleaned each day... We had the preferred club which I highly recommend (that’s how we got the butler) which gave us beautiful rooms with swim up pools...

...We got the preferred package so we had a top notch butler, Zorro, who made sure we had everything we needed. He helped us make dinner reservations which was a big help because otherwise, depending on the time, we definitely saw people waiting for tables... On our last night there, he also made sure he did something special for us and our room was decorated and we got chocolate covered strawberries which was super nice!... Benjamin, who was a waiter we saw at the buffet and Bluewater was great!... Our boy Abrahan Pena definitely took care of us at the pool!... He made sure we always had a drink and we had anything we needed at the pool... The service at Dreams deserves 10 stars!... They also did a great job keeping the resort clean... Thank you for making our much needed getaway so special!...

...Amstar transportation and excursion setup easy, no issues! Make sure you tip your driver a few Dreams onyx Everyone here was wonderful!... Juanito was our butler who was so kind and accommodating!... He is efficient and effective with his service to those that visit... He kept the drinks coming and was super nice as well!... Everyone was attentive with a few small issues like the safe broke and the door pad batteries died... So if you like Hennessy Tito’s casamigos etc etc please buy it at the airport before you go The drinks at the resort were okay, go easy on the salted rim or ask for no salt...

...When we first arrived we were greeted by very welcoming staff and offered some welcome drinks. We upgraded our room and this came with butler service in the shape of Juan who made sure that everything we needed was taken care of and arranged for our room to be decorated for my wife’s birthday... He also was always available to help with any requests or questions we had and made the effort to come and find us to check in with us in person every day... Happiness who runs the kids club was great, very friendly and fun... Our room was very spacious and really clean with the mini bar filled daily... Next to the cocktail van is a snack truck that does nice cooked sandwiches at lunchtime... The breakfast was a lot better with omelettes made at your request, fresh fruit and typical American breakfast fare... The pools were good, the main pool is huge with a swim up bar there was also an adults only pool which we didn’t take in as we came as a family... All in all the hotel was really good with excellent drinks and staff...

I’d like to start by saying that the staff was very friendly... The Buffet was OK but to be honest especially in the morning a lot of the stuff was cold so unless you went to the omelette bar where he could make you a fresh omelette or the waffle area your food was typically cold... I would like to reiterate though that the staff that you could communicate with which was typically the guys that were running around by the pool or beach were very nice...

...The resort was kept in impeccable shape and service. So many staff was on the premise, they were cleaning constantly or ensuring the guests were well taken care of... My butler Rafael was hands down the best... He was customer service oriented and was only a text message away if any request or information was needed... He frequently checked in on me to makesure I had everything I needed... My vacation experience would not have been as rewarding or complete if he did not inform me of resort events he thought I would enjoy or to ensure reservations at restaurants were honored or on time... On my next stay I will certainly request him... Each morning they were raking and doing the hard work of removing any excess seaweed from the tide...

...He made the holiday a thousand times better by being such a lovely, approachable person who catered to our every need! My partner - who is learning Spanish - spoke with him daily in Spanish and Abrahan was kind enough to take the time help him with his pronunciation... This goes for many other staff members who were all encouraging and incredibly patient... The people who work at the hotel really make you feel welcome, and many go out of their way to ensure you have the most amazing time whilst visiting their island... Our room was very spacious and well maintained by the hardworking cleaning staff, we also had access to a mini bar FOC a beautiful balcony area with a whirlpool and so many other amazing benefits during our stay... Instead, we were contacted daily by a concierge Carlos, who gladly helped us with a la carte bookings and also pointed us in the right direction for the excursions we were interested in... Having also visited the preferred club pool and dining areas, we honestly feel you money would be better spent bettering the lives of the hard working staff with tips as these were always heartwarmingly gratefully received... Lastly, we wanted to mention Franklin who is one of the waiting staff in the buffet during the mornings and in the steak restaurant on some evenings, as he went the extra mile to make sure he greeted us each morning, remembered our usual drinks orders and it meant a lot to be recognised and treated in such a friendly, welcoming way!...

He accommodated my wife and I (and my daughter and her husband) in two rooms of the newest section of the resort... When the date of the anniversary came around, Alexis surprised us with a beautiful dinner in the VIP Wine Cellar (see attached photo)... And Anderson, the sommelier that cared for us that evening was outstanding!... Service: Overall, the service provided by every individual we came into contact with at the resort was fantastic!... We visited the sister property, Dreams Breathless, numerous times during our stay and the service there was exceptional as well!... During my many years of travel, I have never had concierge call me in my room several times during my stay to ensure all of my needs are being met and to inquire about any areas requiring improvement... Shout out as well to the amazing bartenders and servers... The buffet breakfast at Spoons (at Breathless) was a notch above Carnival (at Onyx)...

...I will start with Diomeris who was the first to serve us at the preferred check in she was so friendly and wonderful we went back to visit her everyday. Nelson was our butler and the consummate professional he attended to our every need and took care of my girlfriends birthday by arranging for a special dinner and birthday cake... Our waiter by the preferred adult pool was Javier one could not ask for better service he was friendly and wonderful... Junior at the Preferred swim up bar is probably the best bartender I’ve encountered at any resort friendly, funny and gets everyone involved in the party... Also Ronnie at the Preferred lounge deserves a mention for his smile and wonderful attitude as well as a great bartender... Also I must mention Juan who as his apron says is the “coffee boy” at the preferred breakfast he was funny, told us great stories as well as keeping our coffee and mimosas filled... I’m sure I am missing a few people who took such good care of us but again I will say the best part of this resort is the people who work here...

...Our butler Aris was amazing, super attentive and works so hard to provide you with the best vacation. The couple we were with did not have access to their room for a few hours the day of arrival while we got our room almost instantly which was only a few doors down so they provided us the option of a private island or beach cabana for a day to compensate for that which was very nice of them to do... We decided to to the beach Cabana and we had Inoel as our cabana attendant for the day... He was fantastic coming to check on us every few minutes and take pictures with us/for us and cracking jokes with us... All the servers/bartenders by both the preferred pool and the main pool were always smiling and checking on guests frequently... Nelis by the preferred pool is the sweetest server you will encounter... If you do preferred side you have to meet Juan at the buffet... He took great care of us every time we saw him... There were multiple couples on the beach with us but they had the tables far enough apart that it was still an enjoyable experience and the staff took pictures for us throughout the dinner which was nice...

...They go out of their way to talk to the kids everyday and have a variety of activities around the pool every day... We were also here during the pass of Hurricane Fiona and couldn't praise the staff enough... The worked tirelessly to get the hotel even more spotless than it was before the hurricane... We had slight damage to our room from the storm and after going to the reception in the morning we were moved rooms within 5 minutes...

When you arrive at a resort and the lobby doesn't even over whelm you with AWW, you know it's going to be bad... The pools were not clean and the preferred club adults only pool with a swim-up bar had really bad service and the drinks were very watered down...

Spent 5 day with a my family group of 16 at this property... We were able to maximize on the experience and take advantage of all of the preferred benefits... I want to take a moment to give a shout-out to the great service provided at the buffet, the preferred pool bar by Nelly, the water park bar and the great service provided by Juan (if you go to this water park bar ask for a ‘Juan’ drink), also throughout the time the property did its best to accommodate our group size at restaurants and with some patience and later dinning times we were able to score accommodations to dine together... While on the property our in between time was filled by spending time at the pool or the beach and hanging out at the beach bar snack bar where the chef was fun and helpful... ...All the staff were incredibly friendly towards us... This was our first time going to an all-inclusive... We had the master preferred ocean-front suite, the second best one and it was incredible... Our butler Juan that came with being a preferred club member enhanced our stay and made our final evening incredibly romantic... I would recommend being a preferred member because you get a butler to help you with everything, you are able to eat breakfast and lunch from the buffet inside with a/c, and you get access to an adults only pool... It’s a lot quieter, but I liked that aspect because I was able to relax... Thank you Juan and Nelis, and everyone else who made our stay incredible!...

This resort was amazing for a family trip and even for a couples vacation. The entertainment team was amazing, rooms were cleaned throughout the day, and food and drinks were always on point... No need to leave the resort with all the events going on throughout the day and you will never go hungry or thirsty with all the food and drink options available throughout... Had an amazing time here with my girlfriend and family... Will definitely be returning here and would recommend others to book here... Had family stay at breathless and would definitely recommend staying here over them...

My friends and I stayed at the Dreams Onyx this weekend for our friends bachelorette party. I can’t say enough good things about the property and staff... From the time we arrived to the time we left there was never a need that was not taken care of... When we got there we were immediately introduced to our personal “butler” for the weekend, Zorro... He took us in the golf cart to tour the property and then brought us to our rooms... He made us reservations each night at the restaurants and helped us reserve a beach cabana one day and a pool cabana the next, both of which had a dedicated waiter who brought us drinks and food all day whenever we needed... He even sent us strawberries and champagne to celebrate, helped blow up the floats we brought for our friend, and so much more... There was a fun show to watch each night and even a party on the beach... Our rooms were really lovely and cleaned each day... We had the preferred club which I highly recommend (that’s how we got the butler) which gave us beautiful rooms with swim up pools...

We just got home from an absolutely incredible vacation at this fantastic resort... We highly recommend the swim up rooms... They were so worth the extra money as was the preferred status... Our butler Abraham was out of this world getting us whatever we needed and just coming to find us to chat... Junior the preferred pool bartender was so much fun and our favourite waiter, Juan, at the preferred buffet is already missed so much... I honestly cannot say enough about this resort...

...The preferred adults only pool was amazing. Javier, Inoel and Nelis took such good care of us all week, we couldn't have asked for better... Our room was nice, clean and I didn't notice it being damp, we kept the balcony door closed hoping that would take care of it and it did... We had plenty of towels but lacked wash cloths a few different days... Always left am & pm tips for housekeeping, turning down the bed, etc as well as for the unseen person that kept the minibar stocked with snacks & drinks... We read a lot of the Facebook group posts about drinks, restaurants, etc and were convinced by those that the restaurants at Breathless were much better... But if you DO go to Silk City, definitely get the frozen saki... At Dreams, we had breakfast & lunch in the preferred indoor dining every day and utilized the made to order egg or omelet station, pasta station, grill for tuna, mahi mahi, pork & beef... At night, we ate at Bluewater Grill, Capers (twice), Spice, Mercure (the best of all of them!)... We walked to Tropical Treasures once for massages and my friend and I also went to the spa for a fish pedicure...

...Recommend upgrading to Preferred Club for the butler... Made reservations (8 people wanting to eat at same time) several nights, helping to celebrate my 50th and fellow friends 40th birthday and always checking in to see if we had any needs... Edwin, Jefry, and Inoel took care of us on the beach and Junior at the pool bar... Food at French, Mexican and Steak House really good... Beach was better then some resorts, with the seaweed... Would definitely come back because of all the staff...

Traveling during a hurricane was stressful and tiring, but the staff and accommodations at the Dreams were above expectations and allowed us to relax and enjoy our long awaited friends’ trip... Our Butler Hector (Preferred Club) went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless... He was professional, courteous and cared about making us feel at home... Nelis at the preferred area pool greeted us with a smile everyday as she served us delicious libations created by Junior... The rooms and grounds were immaculately clean and the entertainment team worked very hard to involve all guests and provide captivating entertainment... If traveling with adult, I would recommend the preferred club which shares amenities with the Breathless Resort ...

...We stayed again in building 5, but this time it was a preferred Oceanview facing adults only preferred pool, which is where we spent most of our days. Our butler Hector checked in via WhatsApp every day and dropped by the pool to chat, He was very attentive, and even though we are low maintenance, we did use his services a few time to book and take us to Breathless for dinner... As we were two adults this time, we did eat there most nights as in December we had children with us, it was nice to have that option... Breakfast every day was at preferred (Mexican), with Isobel greeting/seating us every morning with a smile and good morning, our waiters were Kennedy and Alexander... Lunch was usually Barefoot Grill either at Onyx or Breathless Our day consisted off breakfast, walk on beach, pool, lunch, pool, dinner, after inner drink at preferred bar... Where Pamela took good care of us, even getting hubby's CROWN ROYAL for him... Our favorite preferred pool server from January, Nelis was there again and took excellent care of us, always with a smile, asking about our kids from January trip... Each morning we also went to CoCo Cafe for our specialty ice coffee, which Rosanna served with a smile...

...The grounds were neatly kept and the staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room in the family side with 2 queen beds... It was clean spacious with plenty of storage... Drinks were plentiful, the family pool/lazy river/slides were entertaining, the beach was lovely, and the grounds were impeccable... There was always seating available at a pool or the beach!... Peter was our server on the beach and was amazing... There were plenty of choices, all was good, but nothing remarkable... Miguel was our server at Capers and the beach bar and was fantastic... They had lots of activities around the resort, and we were able to drop our kids off for a few hours one day to enjoy some kid free time!... We really enjoyed our time and wouldn't hesitate to go back!...

...However the hotel were very quick with getting us a room for the night and allowing our travel agent to sort it for us so when we went in the morning it was all sorted and we got to start our holiday. We stayed in a preferred club private swim up room, the room was lovely and the private pool was absolutely lovely... We had Francisco as our butler he was amazing, anything we asked for, he sorted... He was very helpful with knowledge about the hotel and the breathless next door... We were also given the opportunity to eat in the wine cellar curiosity of the hotel as an apology for the stress with the mix up at the start of our holiday (this was arranged by Elvis manager of the preferred he was very polite and apologetic for the stress caused) and we very much appreciated the dinner it was lovely and a very romantic dinner for the two of us although we didn’t need compensation the apology was enough we did very much enjoy the gesture... The beach was lovely and only a short walk from the hotel with plenty of beds available & a bar... We very much enjoyed the service at our preferred room, the big pool was great and we switched between that and our own pool throughout the holiday... Whilst in our pool we got great service with the waiters, we were served for most the week by Javier who was brilliant... He’d see us come out into the pool and immediately have our drinks ready, he helped make our holiday so great... We went in the lazy river several times which was very fun and the guys at the bar in the middle were great and makes lots of fun drinks just ask for a surprise if you don’t know what you want... We went to castaways restaurant twice during our stay it’s... $10 dollar taxi to get there the food is amazing!!... If you aren’t sure whether to stay here I can highly recommend everything here... All the staff were really friendly and very helpful across the whole of the hotel, Monica who cleaned our room was fantastic the room was always perfectly presented...

The pool area for preferred guests was lovely with islands (that you had to pay $100 per day) but every adult could come to the pool, even the guests from the hotel next door Breathless... this made it a party pool, especially in the afternoon around the pool bar... Also we saw people being shown around the pool area and I suppose the hotel like they were selling time shares (unexpected)...

The pool area was really nice I was a little disappointed in the beach area and the water was not the Caribbean side so it was like being at the local New England beaches that I frequent...
