...The cleanliness of the room was not adequate, and on my second day I could tell that the sheets were not changed because they had a dirty one that my son had caused...

...The rooms were absolutely disgusting, with a strong, unpleasant smell that made it impossible to sleep the first night. To make matters worse, my room was on the first floor and the balcony was completely in the open, meaning anyone from outside could just walk in into the room... What's even more frustrating is that there was no safe in the room unless you paid an extra three dollars per night... Mind you, the hotel was practically empty... Puerto Plata has better hotels around the area believe me...

The resort needs to upgrade/update/modernize rooms and some areas, and change some of the protocols/policies to compete with other modern resorts. A better trained front desk AND room cleaning staff is needed...

I just had the worst experience at this hotel and I feel compelled to share it with all of you... What's even more frustrating is that there was no safe in the room unless you paid an extra three dollars per night... I thought this was supposed to be an all-inclusive hotel, but apparently, that only applies to certain overpriced amenities like VIP... Even calling for in-room dining resulted in an additional charge for the meal, which is only for overpriced VIP guests... When I asked about the food options, since the buffet was terrible with limited selections, I was told that all three restaurants were fully booked... It became clear that they want to buy the Overpriced VIP package... I have over 250k followers on social media, and I will definitely be letting them know to never, under any circumstances, stay at this hotel... I would’ve preferred to a little extra and not stay here... Puerto Plata has better hotels around the area believe me...

Do not go to the Vinotecha restaurant at the front of the resort we thought going there and paying for dinner would be a nice experience but waited 2 hours for our very mediocre food... My friend and I splurged at the top end of our budget for what was rated as a 5-star resort... A la carte restaurant reservations need to be made the morning of at 8am...

Been to cuba 30 years and sadly some of the places there that were 2 star are better than this!... My advice this is a 2 star cuban at best if your looking for more steer clear or re arrange your star criteria Sunwing!...

Checked in January 29th to February 5th 2023... No hot water to shower, Luke warm at best, WIFI was far to slow and kept dropping to work on anything, coffee machine on a table with no outlet to plug it in... All sliding doors out of adjustment, AC worked great...

The staff, especially Evelin at the VIP lounge and Garson, the bartender who spent a lot of time working the pool bar during our stay, were both fantastic! Very helpful, friendly and yet professional... The Mediterranean and Brazilian restaurants were fantastic, service and food... The front end staff were very patient with us checking on our missing luggage from Toronto, several times a day and night, we appreciated their not giving up...

...We had the VIP family suite package and they were very helpful in settling us in. Evelin and Marlen at the VIP lounge were very helpful, booking our el la carts, spas and informing us of any other happenings on the resort... The kids were happy throughout the whole trip and all the staff was very entertaining and helpful...

The kid’s club was a very nice place for my daughter to play and have a good time. There was a girl called Luz that she gave a great kid’s care... The hotel wasn’t that bad, but for make a reservation for few people at the restaurant was a problem and they didn’t try to help us and made it difficult...

...We met Jhoenny Mena the Customer Service Manager, he made everything possible to accommodate our needs, even more than we could ask, just to make our stay one of the best... The resort must be proud to have him in that position... We are very thankful to all the stuff but in particular to Evelyn and Johaira's kindness... To Winston from Brasillian Restaurant, Carlos from Mylos and Jose from Mexican restaurant... All bartenders were pleasant, one of them called me Miss soda because I was drinking lots of soda...

...The house cleaning lady, Clairey C. was wonderful. Always extra towels, pleasant and wonderful towel art... We did a small upgrade to VIP and in using the VIP lounge met 3 wonderful ladies - Marien, Evelyn and Johaira who were always pleasant and greeted you with a smile... They are always ready to help in any way they can... The resort was not full at all and the pool bartender, Miguel Angel, would bring our drinks to our chairs...

...The house keeping staff and the Dining hall staff were outstanding. Friendly, attentive, respectful, and a pleasure to interact with... The personnel at the bar were kid friendly and my kids were able to go get their drinks on their own with no issues... We were introduced to a man that called himself HAPPY which offered us a free pizza to get us in a room to talk about their VIP program... They only have one restaurant open; it is first come first serve and you must make a reservation the day before at 8am and you must wait on a line and if seats are filled up before you get to the front of the line you are not able to reserve for that day or book the next day...

...The WiFi is not great, should depend more on using your cellular service for the internet...

This was my first time at this resort, we had a group of family friends and it is a great resort! All the staff and entertainment crew are engaging and make it a great time... Yoncarlos, Cappuccino and Sexy belly make all the activities during the day very enjoyable and entertaining... The website and signs say that lounge chairs can’t be reserved but every day there were people who put their items on lounge chairs ( especially in the shaded area) and left for breakfast so that was frustrating... The buffet restaurant had a nice variety of food... Desserts were great, and atmosphere friendly... I liked how close everything was in proximity to each other- restaurant pool theatre reception etc...

...Always extra towels, pleasant and wonderful towel art... We did a small upgrade to VIP and in using the VIP lounge met 3 wonderful ladies - Marien, Evelyn and Johaira who were always pleasant and greeted you with a smile... The resort was not full at all and the pool bartender, Miguel Angel, would bring our drinks to our chairs... The food from the buffet to the a la carts was delicious and hot... We were always able to find something wonderful to eat...

...Friendly, attentive, respectful, and a pleasure to interact with. The personnel at the bar were kid friendly and my kids were able to go get their drinks on their own with no issues... We were introduced to a man that called himself HAPPY which offered us a free pizza to get us in a room to talk about their VIP program... My family and I ate at the buffet style restaurant the whole time we were there... The stores that were in the hotel charged you double and triple for items you would get back at home like sunscreen and aloe for dirt cheap... I stayed at their resort for a wedding, and the wedding was memorable and beautiful...

...We met Jhoenny Mena the Customer Service Manager, he made everything possible to accommodate our needs, even more than we could ask, just to make our stay one of the best... Superior deluxe rooms needs renovation... We are very thankful to all the stuff but in particular to Evelyn and Johaira's kindness...

...This is my second time here, and every time is a great moment to be! You will find very good quality of the towels in the rooms, as well as in the towel center, where Jesus is taking good care of the guests supplying fresh towels to them... They're all very nice and friendly and profesional...
