Villa Carolina (pronounced Caro-leena) is a villa in the classic style and kept meticulously. It is also a bargain price. There are several complimentary reviews here and I agree with all of them. The natural ventilation of the villa is designed so that air conditioning is not required in the tourist season. The temperature is perfect at night for sleeping....

I stayed for a quick night (arrived late around 8pm and left at 2pm) because I went to the 27 charcos de damajagua. Francia was very welcoming! I would definetly return when I go again to Puerto Plata.

The hostel is less like a the kind of hostel you might be thinking of. It's more like a B&B with private rooms that have ensuite bathrooms. Also, the family live in the home across the pool and courtyard and upstairs from the hostel rooms. We felt like we were visiting family rather than booking budget accommodations. Julio is the...

I have been trevelling in almost 50 countries and this is one of the best hostels I ve ever been to. It is family run and good hearted owner Francia is amazing. She offers you a Family run place, with a green patio, quiet, near downtown and the Malecon among other things. Villa Carolina is a place where you can...

It is close to the Metro bus line. The lady who runs the place is great. The continental breakfast has a lot of fresh fruit. For the price I recommend this place for the budget traveler. There is no air conditioning, but the rooms have fans. If you take gua guas the hotel is a couple blocks from Several routes...

The whole place was really pretty. Great hotel, great service and a lovely room. We had a simple breakfast of bread and fruit. There is a communal kitchen area and a large and beautiful dining area. The rooms were pretty and the whole grounds area was very lovely. The whole place has a personal touch.

This was a beautiful place. Huge rooms, clean bathrooms, small pool in a tranquil garden setting, close to downtown but still quiet. And the owner is such a lovely, kind woman. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Villa Carolina is a very lovely place with a good location (peaceful neighborhood but not too remote), great quality-price ratio and very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely go here again. Felt like home :)

One of the things I feel in love with was the architecture and decorate of this hostel. You will definitely get your moneys worth. There will be an unlimited supply of mangos! Once you are you there you will see what I am talking about. There are a lot of great restaurants in close proximity and services are great. However,...

If you are expecting a nice hotel room, with lots of amenities, you will be disappointed. From the front, it looks abandoned, as the guest rooms are located in the back, behind the main house. This is a hostel, meaning you get the basic necessities. No tv in rooms, WIFI works mainly out in the common area, basic bed and...
