As I am writing this, I am sitting at the pool beside the spa on a gorgeous day. Yes, the hotel needs some fixing., but they did do a new coat of paint on everything during covid. Staff everywhere is excellent. Beach is fabulous. We are here for two weeks and the food does get repetitive. But there are fresh eggs and omelettes every morning and fantastic pasta dishes for dinner and a variety of other stuff. It’s not 5 star dining. Bring a two prong extension cord as you will need it to plug in your electronic devices. Not enough plugs in each room. We have been here 8 times. We don’t bother with the evening entertainment unless it is live music which is usually excelllent. I love the golf course across the road.. It is pricey but you need to negotiate. If you are here for two weeks I usually buy a package. THey also have half price twilight which is great as it is not so hot. And they will usually discount if you are a a local hotel about 15%. Caddie tipping is controversial. I generally tip $30 /$40 per round and consider it my donation to world peace. No noisy kids. Friendly guests. Feels safe. …
We are currently in the last couple days of a vacation and have enjoyed the resort greatly. The beach has a good swimming area with a sandy bottom. There is some sea grass, but that should be expected at this time of year. If you walk north west about 300 metres, there’s a very nice snorkeling spot in front of the Gran Ventana resort. The food is very fresh (especially the fruit) with mostly traditional Dominican options. If you feel you need to have more traditional North American options, there is a pasta bar and usually pizza available. The pools are clean and uncrowded. The rooms are a little dated, but spacious. If you are looking for top shelf booze, you will have to pay, but if you’re not picky, the local rum and beer options are fine. The best part of the resort is the people. The staff are amazingly and genuinely warm people. If you are looking for a quiet getaway I would recommend this place. If you’re looking for a high end, highly refined experience, you may want to look for more expensive option. When it comes down to value for money, it will be difficult to beat Blue Bay.…
first: for security, be creative because the safes in rooms do not work. ( none of them) we where charged 3$ a day and the second day when we ask for a working safe, they had money ready for us and joking yeah the new safe are coming by boat and they all laughed. clearly the managment is a big problem. second: half of the frides in the room don't work and they supply coolers, yes coolers like camping. food repetative not much choices and boring. the site needs major renovations. pool tiles falling off. tha A/C in the room was moldy and smelly. we kept it off to breathe better. on the positive note: the beach of the blue bay is the best spot in pureto plata less algaes then the rest of the beachfornts.
music too loud at main pool day and night . turning up the volume does not make it sound better . so loud at times you cant talk . i bought ear plugs to bring . edwin and alfredo turn the music up so loud they cant even hear you talking . started this at 7:45 one day . people pay up to 30000us for memberships and have to put up with this so called music . most sites say this is a quiet relaxing resort . i was told to sit else were . talked to other ppl and they agreed with me . the animation team are too young and dont play the music the crowd likes . i was told im too pld . pay 7000 canadian for our trip that gets ruined by these kids thinking its their resrt . was told to ask guest services when its too loud,so here i am . would like a real responce to this and not a generic statement from the management, thank you.…
Bluebay Villas did not disappoint! I had a great experience here in February 2023. Check-in was easy, the rooms were comfortable and clean with great A/C and a freshly stocked mini fridge each day. The food at the buffet was great and the Chinese as well as Seafood A la Carte restaurants were excellent. Service all around was amazing!! The staff are so friendly and honestly work so hard to make sure all the guests are having a great time. The animation team is amazing! Always smiling and encouraging (but not pressuring) guests to participate in the various daily activities. The beach party with DJ Edwin is definitely something that should not be missed. I have no complaints, and would confidently return in the future.
tks for animation wasver entertaining tkx to Kelvin Balbuena he sure knows haow to entertaining and very lively was worth our day excellent days that is all i have to say management could of being better and meals also
When I arrived to the hotel I was received with a nice welcome. The entertainment staff went above and beyond to keep us entertained. Specially George, Mariorquis, Arielly. The beach is beautiful. The hotel itself needs upgrade but the staff goes above and beyond. Alfredo from entertainment was super nice. The food was pretty good. They do charge $3 for internet daily that's the only complaint. Early check in was an extra $15 per person. The pool and grounds is clean. Bartender were excellent. Had a great experience ce st the spa. The staff at the spa was very professional. The beach disco was very fun.
Just returned from Blue Bay. 2nd time at this resort. Many years apart. It's still great. I had made the recommendation to my friends to go here and we did. Great time. Food was good. Resort was clean. Rooms were clean. Drinks were flowing. We were at the end of February so I think we got a special night. They did a full on beach party with a pig roast. What a beautiful evening that was. They also did a pool side supper one night too. They go all out for your experience. The beds were hard but I got thru. Not spending to much time sleeping anyway. Some people to recognize: Santos at the beach bar-super friendly. Yorkan-beach bar was a great server. Liadia-i might be spelling this wrong. She's at the Black and White bar. Great server and knows her job well. Pablo mostly at the Black and White - danced with us one night in between serving. He was fun. Elizabeth for coffee- love the Dominican coffee and she's a great laugh. Ricardo-Black and White was a great server. Andy-i didn't forget you. We didn't use his services but he stopped pretty much every morning for a laugh and a hello. We enjoyed your company. Lots of trainees soi think the resort is going to get some new great employees. We didn't take in much of the entertainment as it was way too loud. We did the mini golf tournament. Of course I won. It's small but I would recommend a group do this just for fun. We did get moved the very last night there. Something about the electrical in the building we were in. That was a pain but we made it work. Our new room was beautifully redone. Something the resort should consider: if there's a room with 2ppl, issue 2 keys right off. Again we made it work with one but 2 would have been easier. These are minor inconveniences. Overall I would go back again. I said that in 2008 and say it again 2023. It did not let me down!…
Had such a good experience! The whole staff were so friendly and kind! However, Andy & Darend made us feel so comfortable and made sure we were having a good time the whole stay! Would 10/10 recommend and will return to this resort.
I truly love their services. The food was delicious, beautiful weather. Rooms are very comfortable. ANIMATION TEAM was the best. I highly recomend Blue bay hotel. I loved salsa class at one of the pool. They had a magician I was totally impress with the show.. Kelvin, Arielis, Mariorky, Perla, Julio, Alfredo, Edwin they all were great. ❤
