Stayed here for three nights whilst touring RD and this JW Marriott fully meets the reputation of the brand. Polite and professional staff throughout the property. The property is very well maintained and the food and drink available in both the lounge and restaurants was first class and tasty. I will be passing through again in Jun and will stay again.

The JW is truly a luxurious urban retreat in Santo Domingo. I used Marriott points for our stay and we were greeted with such hospitality. The hotel is connected to the BlueMall with all kinds of international shops and restaurants. Check-in is on the second floor and you will see a sleek counter and then this opens into the restaurant, bar and patio. The patio is clear glass on the bottom so you can look right down on the street. There is also a beautiful infinity pool and the view of the city is just spectacular. Our room was ready upon arrival and we stayed in a suite on the 19th floor.

Room: The suite had a comfortable king bed, large desk, sitting area, big tv and one of the most beautiful bathrooms I have ever seen. The shower is open and the water runs right out the side and not like a traditional central drain. The bathtub over looked the city and the view was simply amazing. The beauty products are from Apothecary and I recognize the lavender line from my stay at the JW in Chicago. The room has a robe, slippers, safe, and gorgeous wooden flooring at the entrance. It felt like an apartment and the view was really the most memorable part. There is also a turn down service with local chocolate put on your pillow for suenos ricos.

Lounge: The executive lounge is on the 19th floor and Lidia welcomed us and explained the happy hour and appetizer and breakfast hours. We had breakfast before we left for our day trip and it was a very nice international display with cereals, eggs, joghurt, fruit, juice, and fresh coffee and tea.

Service: outstanding on every level from check-in to the lounge to room service to departure

Our only issue was with the water temperature in the morning. We got up early at 5:30am to get ready to leave and the shower and tub water did not get warm or hot. It was cold even though we let it run for a long time. At night it was fine though.

This hotel is truly 5 stars and you are right in the heart of the commercial area and near shopping and all the action. Service is outstanding and the room comfort is also exceptional. Thank you and we hope to be back soon!

Beautiful Hotel, centrally located and super clean! The staff is extremely helpful, polite and attentive. They made my Birthday extra special by putting a surprise dessert in my room while I stepped out and even surprised me with a serenade. Super cute! We contracted a driver to take us around who knew the local attractions. The Blue Mall is directly attached to the Hotel so you can get in some good high end shopping done or go across the street for a super convenient and cheaper market for all of your goods. Traffic is crazy at all times so brave yourself crossing the street. Looking forward to revisiting next year post Covid....here’s to hoping !

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for 2 weeks in May. We are well travelled and have resided at many upscale hotels over the years..now this place is a gem!
To begin with the location is very safe and central, with great restaurant choices and shopping in walking distance. Security can be seen everywhere, which was comforting as we explored the surrounding area.

Upon check in we received a suite upgrade which really made our stay! 2 bathrooms, walk in closet, living room in a master corner suite made work and relaxation possible. The staff is polite and helpful, everyone speaks english and working hard. Needless to say this is a top notch hotel and this is clearly visable everywhere you look. Room service is quick, food choices are plenty and of very good quality. Restaurant and bar are excellent, the overall atmosphere in the entire hotel is upscale, tranquil and relaxing. A beautiful infinity pool with poolside service does add a relaxing, caribbean touch.

Alejandro, the hotel manager, truly did a fantastic job on having literally everything nailed down to the T. I am aware that people for some reason always find something to complain but this is a little piece of heaven in the buzzling city of Santo Domingo. I can only recommend this beautiful place to anyone - you won't be disappointed!

I stayed at the Marriott for 2 days and I loved both the location and amenities offered particularly the food. They had covid protocols in place, hand sanitizers in most frequently used public spaces and required the use of masks at all times. The hotel restaurant had lovely meals including late night room service. I appreciated the late restaurant service considering the town closes at 7pm due to COVID. The cons for me were location of the pool (no privacy from visitors/ non-staying guests to the restaurant or bar), the gym had limited options.

Not the best location if you’re a tourist but not a bad option either. Uber is super reliable and anything you want to go to is nearby. I recommend Santo Domingo as a destination, it seems like most American tourists stay here the night before having to fly or something. Unsurprisingly Santo Domingo is painted as some dangerous city which is truly ridiculous. This area is very very safe to walk around, and you can use Uber here with confidence as well. Zona colonial, tres ojos and any other stuff you might want to check out are 5-10 dollar ubers away. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful, speak English well, and don’t make you feel like a gringo. There’s also a great view of the drive in movie playing for the neighborhood nearby from the pool area. I watched the joker while swimming in the pool.

During my 3 weeks DR trip I decided to stay 5 nights at this JW Marriott hotel, first because it is very well located right in Blue Mall and it was supposed to be a high end, luxury hotel.

When I first arrived with my bags, there was nobody to help me with the bags, it seems there is only one bag helper and he was busy with other customers.

The ground floor lobby is ugly, there is no place to sit, a lot of cables hanging.

The main lobby at floor 14 I think was very pretty. The check-in process was very fast. I stayed at the highest floor, the elevators were nice, at my floor near my room there was a huge stain on the carpet.

The room was pretty, very modern.

Something awful and unacceptable was that the hotel had a huge tap water problem. I didn't have water in the bathroom several times, 3 different days. Twice I was showering and then no more water. On my last night, I had to finish showering with some water bottles I had.

Right before getting into the Hotel's Gym, there was water dropping from the ceiling into some stairs. This is very dangerous, my wife almost get injured.

The breakfast was excellent, very delicious and with a good variety.

The Hotel's bar was OK.

In my opinion this Hotel is not luxurious, and therefore too expensive. This Hotel shouldn't have all these issues.

This is our 3rd time staying at this Marriott and it will likely be our last. We need to fly through DR regularly so we sometimes use this as our stop over hotel and arrive late at night and leave early in the morning. Today we decided to arrive a little earlier so we could enjoy a pool day on their rooftop pool area that looks amazing on their website. Big mistake.

1. The pool is freezing cold. Not the type of cold that you get used to after a few minutes, it’s simply not heated and unless you are a Wim Hof devotee you won’t be able to use it.

2. They claim it’s a 24 hour pool which is an easy achievement given there are no pool staff. There are QR codes with menus but no staff to take an order.

3. Want a towel or to know where the changing rooms are? You are out of luck because there are no staff to help.

4. The pool area is next to a massive building site so it’s not stop jackhammers (see attached photo)

Last time we stayed here earlier this year I noticed on checkout that they charged me for Basic internet (even though I provided my Bon Voy membership number) and they also charged me for high speed Internet that we never used.

It’s insane in 2022 that you charge $400+ per night and still try to screw your guests out of a few dollars if they want to simply check their email.

The rooms are nice and are a similar standard to other Marriotts.

This JW Marriott has been awarded for many years as the best business hotel in Santo Domingo. From its excellent location in the most central mall of the city (BlueMall) with the option of international quality restaurants such as Shibuya, to the first-class lingerie, making a stay there convenient for short stays where there is no need to go out in the chaotic traffic of the city for shopping or visiting a good restaurant. Although new hotel options have arrived after the pandemic, it remains a benchmark in the city.

This hotel is top-notch. It is centrally located on Winston Churchill Avenue and connected to the Blue Mall. Restaurants and Zona Colonial are close by within 10-15 minutes.

The reception team is friendly. I met one of the team leaders, Teresa, who greeted me upon arrival by my last name. She made a great impression on this discerning traveler, and I'll return for that.

The hotel also exchanges money to local currency at a fair price, so no need to look for a bank or handle at the airport.

The pool scene is excellent, with sweeping views of the city.

I don't know what the cost is to add lounge access, perhaps check with the hotel. The service was very good, and one additional benefit with the JW Marriott lounge in Santo Domingo is that they include lunch too.

Good afternoon, Some of our rooms do have 2 queen beds and we also have some connecting rooms also. We are located in the business district of Santo Domingo, a short drive from the colonial zone. We are positioned over a high end mall. The hotel does not have an all inclusive rate

The hotel is about 30 min from the Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ) and the sandy beaches. Boca Chica is the closest beach to the hotel. March is a good time to travel for warm weather. You get a taxi to pick you up from the airport to the hotel. You must set up through the hotel. I don’t remember how much it cost but I also tip the taxis driver. A tours card is required for entry to Dominican Republic. Tours card cost $10 and I paid when I went through customs at the airport.

I know for breakfast there are some vegan choices. The menus are posted on the hotel website. The website has a dining tab which you can view the menus for some of the restaurants or you can also call if you have questions.
