I can't think of a better place to stay in the Zona Colonial than El Beaterio. From the beautiful lobby, to the breakfast areas, to the lovely courtyard and gardens, to the charming rooms, to the relaxing roof terrace, every thing about this fully renovated 16th-century convent is spectacular. And it's very reasonably priced and well-located just off Plaza Duarte... More

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights this January for our honeymoon. As such, we treated ourselves to something we wouldn't normally spend as much money on, but it is well worth the price. The hotel seems nondescript on the outside, but once inside the main living room you can appreciate the 500 years of history in the building,... More

A very smooth and tranquil place in the zona colonial. Beds are great and comfortable, rooms very nice and dark to those who like dark room for sleeping. The ac worked really good, bathroom was small but good enough for our needs and breakfast was alright. The hotel itself is a very small place, 11 rooms in total and because... More

This is a really charming old building turned into a hotel. The location is in the old town, very close to everything, and safe. People are nice and helpful, breakfast was very good, and the room is really cute with A/C and a mosquito net. The room we were staying in was a little bit dark, but in general everything... More

Hanging out in the colonial city where the conquistadors hung out was truly a memorable experience. El Beaterio is a diamond in the rough with a magic to transport you centuries back. Has a lovely terrace where I enjoyed a Dominican cigar and some MamaJuana... Charming, quaint, historic, and well priced... can't get better. Service was hospitable -- Vladamir was... More

Right in the colonial district this small hotel offers great rooms and a very nice small patio very enjoyable in the shade. Breakfast is nice. Very friendly staff will help you and give you all the advises you would need. Mastercard was not accepted at the time, only Visa!

We loved our stay at El Beaterio. It was quiet, well decorated, had a lovely lobby and courtyard, rooftop seating area, functional wifi in the room as well as the lobby, great breakfast, attentive staff and is perfectly located two blocks off Calle El Conde (pedestrian only shopping street). There is a grocery store conveniently located at the intersection of... More

This hotel is absolutely amazing and I wish I would have found it sooner. It is an original building the colonial zone of Santo Domingo. It has been restored and turned into a hotel and is absolutely amazing and you would never know about it unless you were headed there. Just a nondescript wooden door halfway down a block of... More

We arrived very late at night dead tired after a long flight and a long drive to Santo Domingo from Punta Cana Airport and luckily Vladimir helped us with our bags and with ordering pizza and making sure we had everything we needed. As others have mentioned it can be warm eating breakfast due to no air condition. Location is... More
