My wife and i stayed there for 17 nights. At first we got a room not as advertised.
I went and complained and got the room I was supposed to get without any problem.

The breakfast was ok and service was good. Rooms are being Cleaned every day.
Bed was comfortabel and airconditioning was cooling ok but could not be turned down.(switch didn’t work)
The bathroom room is not so big but ok.

You’re in walking distance of the conde and cuidad colonial. It only takes 200 to 300 pesos(5$) to move
Within short distances. The prices are fixed prize for the city zone. Each trip is 500 pesos going and 500 returning.

We have a taxi friend Who move us around at an honest prize you can find him at the beginning of the conde
His name is pedro 001809-2972006 we have been making use of his service for quite some years now.
He nows a lot of good places to go depending on what you want to eat dinner or lunch.

Right in front of napolitano there are quite a few taxi drivers from the hotel that ask reasonable prizes if you
know the price they must charge. if they call a taxi from outside they may charge a little bit more but if you
Know the price you can deal with them.

The pool of the hotel isn’t big but it’s ok to cool of.
For us the hotel prize was ok if you book directly and pay in advance. We had the seaside view and its nice
to wake up and have the view of sea, fishermen and ships on the sea.
The casino is small variety of slots not so Big. Don’t expect to win a lot because your playing in peso.
Some times about 150$ to 200$.
The casino is more to have a distraction or something to do if you don’t go out to much by night.

At the expensive mall’s like the blue mall, agora mall, sambil and others you can find the American restaurant chains like
Chili’s, outback steak house, applebees, tony romano and others. We recomend if you want to move on the island
To go to puerto plata, punta cana, samana and stay for 2 nights at all inclusive hotels there worthy of the effort.
Each part has it’s own attractions to see. Just check in advance what you wanne do.
Have fun and make the best of it.

This hotel is ok for the budget prizes you want to pay.

Good location. Nice view from the rooms. Service at the restaurant (dinner) terrible. Water in the room sometimes shuts down. Front desk staff are helpless. Sent us to a restaurant that was closed. Made many errors with our room bills..... Recommend to check the bill, count change when given etc.

After planning my visit along with a native Dominican co-worker from Santo Domingo, I went alone and had a ball! I am not one for gambling my cash away and so stayed out of the casino.

The pool is adjacent to the restaurant and the bar/lounge which features live entertainment all of which is situated on the 2nd floor just off the strip and with an oceanview. I made sure to meet each of the singers and was rewarded by being serenaded each night I showed up. What man doesn't enjoy a woman singing to him! Their lounge appeared to be a local watering hole and the entire hotel/complex sits right on the main strip so be warned, if you are not a nightlife lover and are early to be do not take an oceanview room because the strip comes alive on the weekend!

Being an avid amateur photographer I set out for a night time stroll down George Washington my first night and quickly learned that walking in that area at night with expensive things is not advised! One block from the hotel I sat and spoke with an older gentleman who appeared to be a security guard and was resting on his shotgun as if it were a cane.

Guys: if you meet a woman say at the bar or in the casino, and after inviting her to your room, while you're walking thru the lobby she moves toward the front desk, then you met a professional. They are required to leave ID at the desk for your protection, it's funny what one can learn from just watching and asking the bellmen. Start low, assume all neotiations are in pesos and at the end say so.

Be sure to visit the hotel's night club which is on the corner opposite the lounge/bar. If you love to dance you must learn to merengue and your Dominican partner will gladly show you how, and probably bachata too! Have fun with it.

The security (and the bellmen) at Napolitano are top notch and actively look out for each guest. Their chief met m ein th eparking lot after I'd pulled up escorted by the police who were attempting to 'roll' me for $20 US. I palyed broke just to get them to the hotel but never expected security to be so closely monitoring what was going on just across the street in the parking lot. I felt very safe with these guys watching out.

Do stay clear of Villa Meija but, I did venture in. Be warned, should you see Narcotica (same as our DEA or ATF) do not take photos of them!! It is illegal and could get you arrested or worse. I nearly found out too late.

Being African-American I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Dominicans greet each other very similarly to the way we do it here!! You'llknow it when you hear it!! Join in, they'll love you for it.

I'd recommend it for anyone equipped to 'go native' but most should probably stick to the resorts.

As always, there are lovely views from the rooms over the ocean. As expected those views come with the noise of the highway running along the Malecon. On check in, the gentlemen was helpful, including arranging COVID tests for my friend and I, needed to fly back to the States.

What was not expected was you could not charge food or drinks at the pool to the room. So be it. What was not expected was being charged $40 on my credit card for food and drink that they said I used from the mini-bar. This included $5 for a large bottle of water that I had brought with me from Las Terrenas, and mysterious pistachios. And they were hostile, including coming close to being physically threatening, insisting that I pay. I did not, and of course they charged my card.

This place is not what it was. I have been coming to the DR for over 30 years, and have family from the Capital. I will go back, but never to the Hotel Napolitano.

I had a horrible experience in this particular hotel. I personally wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I had a late check-in and when I went to my room and after a long day I decided to take a shower and seen this which was obvious dissatisfying and very disgusting if you ask me. I had to call the lobby and it took approximately 30-45 to get everything fixed. And if you thought that was all it was only the beginning… the lights kept constantly turning on and off and around 5 am I couldn’t take it anymore all source of electricity was gone for 45 mins and the heat was very discomforting. Around 8am all electricity was gone once again it took a hour before everything was back to normal and to make matters worst the water would stop working once the source of power is gone. I was very upset about the whole situation and didn’t want to waste anymore time there had a early check out and went to lobby to get any sort of refund based of the horrible service I’ve experienced and all I got was a waiver to make sure it won’t happen again when none of it should’ve happen in the first place. 😐

Ive given this top score because its a a really authentic experience, with good service. This is not the most luxurious or modern hotel, but its very charming and clean with great pool area a restaurant. The staff are excellent and you could not ask for more and you notice this from the moment you check in. Location is excellent. Pool is excellent. Bar and restaurant excellent. During my stay a local Wedding was held there and that kind of gives you an idea of the type of clientele it attracts. The restaurant also gets a lot of customers who arent staying at the hotel that look like locals, and it was all very respectable and added a lot to the ambiance of the hotel. I really loved my stay.

Had to go Santo Domingo in February 2020, The hotel Napolitano is nice and clean, but the restaurant is more than perfect. In the afternoon I enjoyed a cheesecake with delicious coffee...
for dinner I had a really good sweet/sour plate with incredible mashed potatoes.
I finished all... The breakfast buffet is included, believe me, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS !!!

I've stayed at this hotel before and never have had a problem.

This time it was different. I walked into this place without a reservation. George, the friendly concierge told me the rate would be 122 American a night. I told him I could reserve a room on priceline for 70 a night. We agreed on a price of 70 something a night.

7 days later when I went to check out the bill was damn near 900 dollars for a rate of 122 a night. I told the woman George and I agreed upon 70 something a night. She balked at this, but gave me her card and told me they would charge me 100 a night next time I come back.

I even showed her the rate on priceline, but she also balked at this.

Overall I like Napolitano, but if this is the way they are going to be I will have to find somewhere else to stay when I return in May.
