The hotel is in a great location in the old town of Santo Domingo. The receptionist when we arrived was less than friendly and somewhat argumentative claiming I had booked the wrong room. Only when I showed her a screenshot of my reservation confirmation did she finally agree with me. She blamed the online reservation system and said it often sends the wrong info to the front desk--so that is a big minus for anyone booking online. The hotel is very pretty with nice old architecture. The staff is generally quite helpful an there is free parking. The buffet breakfast looks nice but the food quality is mediocre. Even a Holiday Inn will have better scrambled eggs. The room we got (King bed) was mediocre--had a cold, unwelcoming feel to it.

Nice hotel, good location, lousy breakfast The hotel is very well located in the old town of Santo Domingo. The receptionist when we arrived was not very nice and was a bit argumentative saying I had the wrong room. Only when I showed her a screenshot of my reservation confirmation did she give me the reason. She blamed the online booking system and said that it often sends the wrong information to the front desk, so it is a big disadvantage for anyone booking online. The hotel is very nice, with beautiful old architecture. The staff is generally quite helpful and there is free parking. The breakfast buffet looks nice but the quality of the food is mediocre. Came to hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando for a study abroad trip and had the best time there primarily due to Guillermo, Claudio, and Daiian who were the best bartenders who helped us constantly. They gave us the best restaurants, bars, drink and food recommendations and so much more

From parking to check-in from breakfast to housekeeping The staff here will do anything to make you feel at home. At the restauran, Adalgisa, Yeritza, Yaritza, Paula, and Ramon will make your breakfast experience one to make you get up early for. Thank you guys this is my second time here in less than a month. A Charmer of a Luxury Boutique hotel housed in a historic colonial building. Felt like staying within a piece of history! LOCATION: Fantastic location in the heart of the old town and surrounded by historic colonial buildings DINE + DRINK: Charming Colonial era bar in the lobby level and a very good spread of local and international food at the sweet Breakfast restaurant by the courtyard ROOM: We stayed in Room 4008, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Lateral view of heritage buildings and the street; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good spa quality cosmetics FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines. The first building constructed by Europeans in the New world! What a way to visit the oldest city! The hotel is clean and modern inside, yet retains the Old colonial charm. This is a place where affluent Latin Americans and Dominicans will come for a getaway. Staff are very friendly, accommodating and competent. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent Hotel, within the structure of an old building typical of the colonial zone, we fount a 5 star hotel with excellent rooms and service. Bar and Restaurant were very good in terms of quality and kinds of food and drinks and the rooms were very comfortable.

Had two delicious meals here and would definitely come back. You must try the ceviche, the sausage and the fried fish. The service was amazing as well - Clara Velez is a rockstar and Daian Martinez makes hands-down the best coffee I’ve had.

We got up late and didn’t feel like driving to the beach so we decided to go to the pool area. It’s small, but big enough to get wet. Clara Vélez our server gave us A+ treatment, our drinks were always filled, and food was on time. We ended up coming back for the second day due to her great service. Guillermo bartender is a mixologist, and a great DJ! I highly recommend to visit them. We will be back…
