Welcome to Cocoa Cottage--Dominica. Cocoa Cottage is an artistic guest house located in the heart of the Roseau Valley, only a few miles from town but worlds apart. This valley is home to many waterfalls, sulfur pools, rivers, and various trails, all within minutes' drive of the cottage. Cocoa Cottage is imaginative, earthy, rustic and whimsical, a fine gentle touch with rough edges. It is a perfect union of all that nature offers. Our kitchen provides food for the soul, using the plentiful offerings of our island. At any time you'll find yourself deep in lively conversation with someone you just met, connecting, sharing, inspiring and being inspired. We adopt eco- friendly daily practices as a way of connecting with ourselves, with one another, and with the world around us.

We wanted to stay here to explore a different part of Dominica and so glad Motmot recommended this place. The cottages are perched up a river valley with tropical gardens and a stream running through with masses of cocoa pods on the trees. The eccentric manager/cook invited us to take dinner of which we had no idea what it would be. Wow, the flavours and textures were gorgeous and so much of it, too. It was lovely sitting with the other guests around a huge table drinking beer/wine/punch. Same again for breakfast having eggs anyway you like and even honouring my request for "eggy bread" - I have to say one of the finest eggy breads ever! The room was lovely - nice art in the room on the walls, mosquito net covered bed and a quaint bathroom down some steps with decent amount of space. The porch area had a large mattress covered swing bench to sit and read, maybe accompanied by a cat.

This was so much fun. I stayed there for 5 nights and got a beuatiful room overlooking the rainforest. Seems like you're in the middle of the wilderness, but its nicely close to Roseau so you can go to the big city in 10 minutes from a place where you can't even see it. Only complaint is that the walls are kind of thin, so the place is cold during the night.

Room Tip: I reccomend the main cottage. It's a little more expensive but the view is totally worth it.

We are just back from a magical few days here. It’s a really attractive, nicely decorated location with lots of nice little details. The manager was really kind and helpful and gave us lots of great tips about where to visit. It was quite pricey staying there but well worth it.

This is a lovely place to stay. We were in a room overlooking the rainforest, and we had a swinging bench and lots of balcony space. The room itself was lovely, with a comfortable double bed, and two beds for the little people. Amazing!

Stayed a couple of nights in December. Friendly welcome by staff. Nice little set up. However, the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything from next door. Basically, only a sheet separates the bathrooms. Listening to other visitors using the toilet is not ideal... The food is very expensive for what you get. Firstly, the prices quoted don't include the tax, which they should, and secondly they are essentially twice the price of price of better meals elsewhere on the island. Breakfast is not worth it. Place could have potential. Nice location.
