Great Hotel . Intact the only hotel to stay in Roseau in my opinion Fantastic service very friendly clean and tidy Great view of the harbour Rooms are large and spotless If you go see if Sandy is working in the restaurant. Lovely girl Security guards to the receptionist all fantastic We order room service one night so we could watch the sunset . Great food . Hot and quick delivery
Ft. Young Hotel was perfect for our base of operation to experience all the natural wonders on the island. We utilized them to arrange for a guide for the boiling lake hike (fantastic) and were helpful when we explored on our own with a rental car. Batibou Bay has to be one of the best beaches anywhere, not crowded, and it's an adventure getting there. Scheduled SCUBA dives with the on-site dive shop and they were very helpful. (Unfortunately we had to scrub the dives for health reasons, so no dive review). Roseau is more like the "old Caribbean" and has a lot of local charm, but it is not an "Americanized" town like others. But it had everything that we needed and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our ocean view suite was very spacious and clean with a fridge and microwave, and a real bargain, especially with the drink package. The sun set directly in front of us and we went to sleep every night listening to the surf. The pool area was great place to hang out at the end of the day and we really appreciated the hot tub next to the pool after a day of hiking. There is no beach, but this was not a issue for us. Only down side is that the bigger cruise ships that are docked nearby can sometimes obscure the sunset view. Everyone of the staff was very friendly and helpful and its bonus that they speak English. The food was good but this is not a foodie destination. We arrived by ferry from Martinique and walked to the hotel, but the international airport is over an hour drive and another adventure. Our package included transportation, which we really liked. This is not the Four Seasons, but if you want the perfect base of operation in Dominica, we recommend it highly. …
The ocean front room blew us away! We were super impressed with the luxury quality of the room and the incredible view! Food at the restaurant (and rooms service) was good and the pool was lovely - as was the hot tub! And what we didn't know is that you can dive and snorkel right from the hotel! The hotel has a dive shop and so you can book to go on an excursion or if you are an advanced diver, you can do a self-guided dive right from the hotel dock (but you have to go early because cruise ships sometimes dock there and block access to the best bits). Hotel is very convenient to ferry (even with big bags, you can walk) and to a large grocery store and pharmacy - great place to stock up for hiking excursions (or to grab yogurt for breakfasts; rooms have a fridge). The front desk was fabulous and helped book a private transfer for us (we wanted a car to take us to champagne beach and then onward to a different hotel in the soufriere area). Tip: get an ocean front room. The view from the balcony is incredible. Note: the hotel is under some construction and so not all rooms can be reached by elevator (for our 4th floor room, we had to take the elevator to the third floor and then go down a hall and then down and up some stairs - so if you have mobility issues, be sure to let them know at time of booking).…
The location of the hotel could not be more perfect. Right on the water and you can walk to everywhere in town. The staff at this hotel could not be more professional with a special shout out to Ian the best bartender on the entire island.
We have stayed a number of times at the Ft Young Hotel. We especially enjoy the deluxe ocean front rooms. The food in The Palisades is quite good. Every staff member we encountered was courteous and polite. We hope to return in the future.
A very disappointing visit. All the rooms offer theoretically an ocean view but this is negated as every day a large cruise ship moored opposite the hotel and blocked any view. The room’s telephones and TVs did not function properly. Hot water was not available after midday. The plunge pool’s stainless steel handrail was rusted through at base making it dangerous to use. The catering was uninspired. Menus remained the same throughout our stay. Restaurants outside the hotel were not good and there were no cafes with outside tables to enjoy passing life. The staff were, however, welcoming and the hotel did boast a professionally run Dive Shop but one could only see this as a 2 or 3 star hotel.
My first trip to Dominica. An excellent location, clean, spacious oceanfront room. Accessible to tours and activities, and right at the center of downtown Roseau. Food was very good, but only 1 restaurant so for longer stays food choices were limited. I will definitely go back. Also stable Wi-Fi with streaming available on TV
FYH, has continued to be the best hospitality management on island! I was able to get ready for my wedding, spend my wedding night, and be provided with all of the amenities ! Breakfast was part ofy package and I was grateful that I was awarded the opportunity to provide luxury to my bridesmaids! O love Fort young!!
Fort Young hotel is an excellent hotel to stay at when visiting Dominica. Great central location, beautiful ocean views, junior suite was clean and comfortable, friendly and attentive staff. Overall an excellent choice.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great location for both business and vacation trips. Staff are very courteous. Great amenities available. Great ocean view. Highly recommend staying here for that touch of Dominican flavor with Luxury
