My husband and I stayed at Pagua Bay House from February 1, 2023, to February 6, 2023. The only reason that we didn’t stay longer was that Pagua Bay House was booked, and we couldn’t stay longer. From the moment that Sheldon, the manager, picked us up at the airport to the morning we left on 2/6 it was a totally delightful experience. Everyone at Pagua Bay House from the owners, Alicia and Rick, the manager, Sheldon, the restaurant servers Vernel, Kimmy, Lauren and the chef, Lisa and the housekeeper were friendly, very helpful and made us feel completely welcomed and comfortable. The physical setting of Pagua Bay House was perfect for us. It is located just steps to the Atlantic Ocean. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable with screened windows that allowed us to listen to the ocean all night long. The sound of the ocean was like a lullaby for me. Every morning Alicia was available during breakfast time to help us plan our day’s activities. She found drivers (we were not brave enough to drive in Dominica, as the driving is in the style of UK and opposite from driving in the US. Additionally, there are narrow, winding roads and some potholes). She planned and made reservations for us at restaurants that we loved and were conveniently located for our day’s activities. She arranged for us to share the expense of drivers with other guests who had similar preferences for activities. All of the drivers that she arranged for us, Reggie, Jeremy and Elvis were warm, friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Alicia arranged for a small group (3) of us guests to be brought to the opening of Marigot’s Carnival on February 4th at 5:00 AM. This was a joyous and amazing experience for everyone. Even though we were outsiders, we felt completely welcomed and safe at these festivities. Most of us danced continuously with the locals until 11:00 AM. This was a highlight of our many wonderful experiences in Dominica. The Pagua Bay restaurant is beautifully located on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The food was excellent, and the servers were delightful. There are not enough adjectives to describe how much we enjoyed Pagua Bay House. We plan to return next year. …
Our stay at Pagua Bay was delayed a day due to a flight cancellation and Alicia was extremely helpful making reservations for our daily outings to see the Island. She arranged our drivers, tour guides, meals and itineraries. She and Rick were very accommodating in every way. All our meals were excellent and we all especially loved the homemade sorrel juice every morning. It was great having local fruits and vegetables every day. Our cabana was clean and spacious and we loved the bathroom. Pagua Bay is a lovely setting and we were lulled to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and tree frogs. Dominica is a beautiful, lush tropical paradise!! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the happy, kind people of the island.
This was a great place to stay, for several reasons. The management went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They would meet with us each morning and help us plan our day. Then they would call ahead to secure our event. They sent us to great restraints, activities and beaches. The food at the PaguaBay was great and affordable. I would highly recommend a visit.
My wife and I chose to visit Dominica for our 25th Anniversary, and specifically chose Pagua Bay based off of their reviews. Everything about our experience here was first class. Alicia and her team did everything they could to insure we had an outstanding vacation. They began a few months before we arrived helping us plan excursions, drivers, itineraries, etc.. and when our plans were changed last minute due to flight issues they jumped into action and changed all of the plans they had already made for us on the fly to insure we wouldn't miss a thing. The restaurant on site is phenomenal, all of the food is local and fresh and the chef is awesome. Everyone we encountered on the staff were truly wonderful people and they are committed to making your stay special. The accommodations are even better than the pictures, Alisha and her husband Rick have not missed anything as they have designed and managed this property. The rooms and the grounds are beautiful. If you are considering a trip to Dominica this is the pace to stay. …
If the idea of being treated like family is appealing to you when you travel then you must stay at Pagua Bay House when visiting Dominica. Honestly this is the highest level of customer service my wife and I have ever experienced while traveling. Alicia and her husband Rick along with their staff go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. They have a beautiful location overlooking Pagua Bay and a nice restaurant and pool just steps away from your cabana. Accommodations and food are excellent and Alicia will help to coordinate any guides or transportation requirements you may have during your stay. Their location on the island proved to be an ideal "home base" for the hikes and other excursions we did during our 9 day visit.
Having recently suffered the loss of my wife, I decided to take this long-planned trip. Alicia mentioned that Dominica is a healing island, and I could not agree more. Dominica and its people are a true tonic for the soul. I spent nine days here at Pagua Bay. I left with a new look on life, well rested and in absolute awe of this remarkable place. Cabana 5 with its outstanding landscaping, private lap pool and private patio areas was perfect and above expectations. All the staff know you by name, you feel accepted into this remarkable group of people. Kimmie, Mike and all the others could not be more helpful and attentive. Alicia and Rick had along with Sheldon organized several incredible days touring the many sights and history of Dominica. I was overwhelmed by a great guide, and a superb and kind man (Mikey) I could go on however I'll sum this up by stating an obvious conclusion: Do not hesitate to visit Dominica, and when you go ,Pagua Bay House is the perfect choice.…
The team at pagua bay pride them selves on giving you outstanding service and making you feel welcome during your stay, the best place to unwind and feel at peace while visiting the beautiful tranquil island.
I spent five (5) amazing days at Pagua Bay House. I had booked Cabana 4, however to my surprise and blessing; the owners upgraded me to Cabana 5. Pagua Bay provided 5⭐️ meals, hospitality, staff and comfort. Due to health issues I had a special diet and they made necessary adjustments to fit my needs. The shrimp fritters, jerk goat tacos, black bean veggie burger and the jerk Mahi-Mahi were delicious. The staff and the owners Alicia and Rick made you feel like family. They were not only friendly, but had a smile and shared their experience of coming to own this beautiful establishment. Cabana 5 was very spacious with an enormous shower. The bed was extremely comfortable with bedding that felt luxurious. On days I wanted to just relax in my Cabana and enjoy meals in my room, I received text messages to see if I needed anything. They promptly responded to any request. The private pool was a bonus, but also allowed me to relax and have fun in the sun in privacy. Pagua Bay House also provides spa services. I took advantage of the 90min full body massage. The Masseuse Emma was 5⭐️. She incorporated several techniques that literally had me melting into the table. Emma was very knowledgeable on how to get further benefits from my body massage. If you are looking for an all-inclusive resort that will pamper you while you enjoy seeing and listening to the beautiful surroundings, then Pagua Bay House is the place for you.…
So we chose Pagua Bay House to begin our Dominica adventure because it was close to the airport. Boy did we hit a home run! Beautiful and well kept property, overlooking the ocean. But what made it special were the people. Our hosts, Alicia and Rick, were super friendly and accommodating. It was their mission to have us get the most from our stay on the island. Each morning at breakfast they would game plan our daily adventures. They even contacted local eateries along the way to set up meals on the road—we felt like VIP’s. We casually mentioned our AC was not up to par. Any other hotel sends a repairman. Our hosts apologized for the inconvenience and upgraded us to the best cabana in the place, This totally blew our collective minds. Easily one of the nicest accommodations we’ve ever had. They even loaned us beach chairs for the rest of the trip. Can’t say enough good things about Pagua Bay.…
Alisha and Rick made my stay one I’d never forget. From the beginning Alisha was so helpful and welcoming. She assured that after almost a decade after last visiting Dominica we were met with the vibe is expected and remembered. The location is also unbeatable and the rooms are to die for! ♥️
