Bottom Line Up Front: DO NOT STAY HERE. WORST TRAVEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Petty and hostile owners who threatened us, stalked us at dinner, and had us interrogated by the police.\ For those of you interested in the whole story, here it is… I have traveled throughout the world and these are by far the most incompetent business owners I have ever met or heard of. I would not trust your banking information in the hands of these people. They have no concept of online transactions or how to run a business online. I’m shocked no one else has experienced this and I hope no one ever has to. My friends and I only had a short 2 day stay in Curacao and our preference was always to stay at a resort by the beach, but due to our short lead time and a concert in town that same weekend, everything was booked up. I ended up booking this B&B through Booking.com instead. Nothing was ever wrong with the room. It was exactly as advertised. But shortly after we checked in we found a room available at a resort nearby and we booked it. We grabbed our belongings, headed to the new place, and I let the owner know that we wouldn’t need breakfast in the AM. We had no intentions of cancelling our reservation or trying to get out of the payment. We would just bite the cost of two rooms-no big deal to us. Ironically, soon after telling the owner we wouldn’t need breakfast she let me know that my card declined (we were texting on WhatsApp). It was a mistake on my end for not having my auto pay turned on. We agreed that I would call her in the AM with info for another credit card. I woke up the next morning to 8 messages from her saying “we know you haven’t paid. I’m going to put a message on the doors of Curacao. I have security looking for you, etc.” I was very confused because just hours before this we agreed I would call to give new payment info. After she reminded me several more times that she has security looking for me and my photo will be posted throughout the island, we spoke on the phone and I told her my new AMEX card info. I was very clear verbally and in writing that it was an AMEX card. She took the info and then wrote me a text saying the card doesn’t work. She declined any call I attempted to make and her replies by text were only reiterations of her threats. You’re declining contact from the customer trying to pay you (insert confused face here)?? I called Booking.com and a representative walked me through updating my payment option. Booking.com then directly sent the host an email saying they spoke with me on the phone, I updated the card info (with my tried and true debit card this time), and now the merchant has to process the payment. OH and the rep also confirmed with me that the host does not even accept AMEX. Fast forward 6 hours and I could see from my banking activity that the charge was still never processed. We are enjoying dinner outside and guess who walks by and notices us- the hosts. It’s obvious they are scheming up something because she would never make direct eye contact with us and were pacing back and forth in front of the restaurant. The couple took turns “standing guard” in what look like their attempt to make sure we didn’t leave without passing them. One of them then had a long convo with our waiter less than 10 feet away from our table. Who knows what she told him, but he never returned to attend to us after that. Realizing how completely ridiculous this situation was, I called her over in hopes we could settle the obvious tension. It only took 5 seconds to realize that a productive conversation with this woman is intangible. She demonstrated zero listening skills. It was clear she had the narrative in her head that we were guests who were trying to cheat our way out of paying. Which is 100% false. The convo ended and shortly after she returned with the 5 armed police men/woman. We were forced to quickly pay for our dinner and were escorted by the police to the station. We spent 2 hours there being questioned by the police. I even called Booking.com and on speaker phone they verified that I called 8 hours earlier, gave my new card info, and that the HOSTS HAVE MADE ZERO ATTEMPTS TO RUN THAT NEW CARD. Even with this info, the hosts refused to just process the payment!!! They just kept saying we haven’t paid them!!! The US Consulate was even involved. Eventually it seemed like the police understood the reality of situation and we were all allowed to go, but that is a dinner, and night of plans, and 2 of my 36 hours of total vacation time in Curacao that I will never get back. These hosts are unstable, irrational human beings. I wouldn’t even recommend my worst enemy to stay at a property associated with them. SAVE YOUR TIME. STAY AWAY.

Hello Girls, it's a long story to explain that how you all acted was wrong, other wise the police would have never taken these actions. Whenever you make a reservation you need to pay for it, all the credit cards provided were not working (All blocked ?? strange for a experienced traveler or on purpose ??) and the next morning you all have left the room before 8 am without any notification. Not to us not to booking.com ??? We already took our loss. In the evening by surprise we noted you Girls dining and smiling at a restaurant. Because you all already left without any notification and payment, we informed the police for touristic matters to settle the no payment. You were given the option to walk to a cash pay machine to settle the bill and go on. ( off course we do not carry a credit card pay machine of the company with us, so we were not able to check all your new provided credit cards on location). You all refused to pay cash, and that made your stay at the police station so long. The US Consulate was called by the police to protect your rights. A payment is not settled by only giving your credit number, it's only settled after the merchant receives the approval code, A Merchant can only see the proved CC 3x then its blocked for the Merchant by Booking.com and that is the trick you were using. The only reason you were able to leave that evening was because of your promise to the US Consul and the Police that the new provided credit card was working again, other wise the police would notify you again the next morning through the US Consul and we would file a claim against you, which till that time we had not done. And by miracle back at our office that evening, the credit card provided through booking, com was working, we informed the police that your payment was settled and the case was closed. If we would not have seen you at the restaurant, you girls would have never payed your Bills. It's one of the many credit card tricks. It's a shame.

We stayed in the apartment of B&B Bellavista and had a great time. The apartment was modern and clean, with a big veranda and terrace. The pool was really nice as well. We loved to chat with Rene and Claudia and they gave us great tips on where to go. Location was great, 10 minutes walk from Zanzibar beach.

We absolutely loved staying here! Rene and Claudia (especially Claudia) were so welcoming and wonderful. They really give this place the cozy, sweet vibe that it has. The breakfasts were really wonderful, and the breakfast atmosphere is awesome. The internet worked pretty well too, which was nice. We never used the pool, but it looked nice! The couple of complaints that we had surrounded our room. We were in the back room - the only one without a front facing door and sitting area. It was a room with two twin beds which was nice for us, but there wasn't a door to the bathroom! This was a bit of a surprise. Being that we are mother and daughter, it was an interesting arrangement. Also, the sheets were pretty thin and the mattresses had plastic on them which made my back really sweaty while sleeping. We did have AC which worked well. The best thing is that if you need anything, Rene and Claudia are happy to help. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!
