A beautiful room with direct access to the pool, a very nice, well-kept garden where you can watch hummingbirds and large lizards. The landlady always had a little surprise food or drink prepared for everyone at breakfast. Very warm and you feel welcome. We were on our honeymoon because we had just gotten married on this island.

We stayed at Hibiscus Beach House, Jan Thiel, Curacao during April 2022. We found the accommodation to be perfect for either a quiet relaxing holiday or as a base to tour the island.
Our hosts Martin and Diana are perfect and full of knowledge regarding the best beaches to visit, the tastiest restaurants to dine at and the most interesting parts of the island to see.
The accommodation is exquisitely comfortable. We stayed in the superior room with views of both the garden and pool, complete with air conditioning and mosquito net. We were there on a bed and breakfast basis, we found the food to be varied and tasty, with home made delicacies.
It’s around a 3 minute walk to Jan Thiel beach with the bus stopping directly outside the accommodation to take you to Willemstad and beyond through the transport network.
Our overall opinion of Hibiscus Beach House is that it’s the perfect place all round with the most charming of hosts Diana and Martin and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

We have visited many Caribbean Islands, but have never been more welcome nor enjoyed the visits as much as our stay with Diana and Martin our hosts at the Hibiscus. The entire property is covered with green, palms and flowering bushes. The day began with a lovely breakfast on a shaded patio including fresh fruit juices, new baked treats each morning, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses , assorted fruits and numerous cups of coffee! The big smiles and helpful manner that it was served with set the tone for the day. Jan Thiel beach is a 5 minute walk from the property, public bus stop a few steps away ( easy access to all points on the island), super market a few blocks away ( to fill the refrigerators in each room). Most helpful were the excellent tips Diana and Martin gave on how to best enjoy the island. This wonderful source of information made it comfortable and we were able to enjoy places and restaurants we would not have known about on our first visit to Curacao. It is great to be able to drink the water, be in a safe environment and have the use of Diana and Martins cars to tour on our own to areas on the northern part of the island. The public bus is an easy way to travel to Willemstead which is wonderful to visit with many sights and restaurants. The beautiful, blue waters of the 35 beaches on the island are great for relaxing and snorkeling. The water is calm and clear and we saw many small fish . We can't wait to return to the Hibiscus!

We recently(May 27-June 3rd) spent our 15 year anniversary at Hibiscus Beach House and had an absolute dream vacation. The patio, pool, cabana, and hammocks made for peaceful mornings and afternoons when we were not exploring all that Curaçao had to offer. It’s easy to lose yourself at this delightful bed and breakfast. We stayed in the new studio apartment, and felt like it was our home away from home. It was very private, clean and comfortable and a wonderful place to lay our heads together at night. Breakfast was a highlight everyday and started each day perfectly. Resist the temptation to go all inclusive for a romantic getaway and look no further than Hibiscus Beach House.

It was the perfect place to enjoy our vacation in Curaçao. Very friendly owners who were helpfull and gave us good advice. The B&B is beautifull and is just 2 minutes away from the beach of Jan Thielbaai. We had a great time here and hope to come back some day.

Friendly and pleasant host and hostess. Everything was well taken care of and we received very good advice for dining options and tourist trips. Breakfast is very well prepared. Lots of variety and something special every day. People are very helpful and caring. We had a wonderful time and relaxed. Compliments to the hostess and host for the good time we had there. Highly recommended for us.

The only good thing were the airport transfers and the use of luggage on a spontaneous trip to Aruba. Travelers should bear in mind its a very small bed and breakfast that caters mostly to Dutch travelers. Therefore if you get a noisy group of people in the 4 room house you could be miserable. There's not a lot of privacy. I booked through booking.com and learned after the fact that many, in fact most of the amenities listed including spa facilities and entertainment can be found nearby NOT at the location. Even the store listed "on site" is not located there. Further the pictures make the pool look huge. By American standards it is more of a "garden pool" surrounded by astroturfing. I advise travelers to consider it a clean room and a base location other than that it's billing of 9.5 on booking.com is not accurate. In addition, bear in mind the location has been known to overbook! I took a midweek trip to Aruba for a few days and learned when I returned that they "needed my room for a bigger party so they moved me to a different room" no phone call or email requesting or asking permission. Further the room was smaller and not a garden location as I paid for. I also learned when I was leaving that they had done it again to another party who was arriving that day! Definitely NOT cool to go into someone's room without permission and move their stuff!!! The photos are the smaller room facing the street with no adjustment in rate.

First off all thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We had between 7500/8000 guest staying at Hibiscus who rated us very high (excellent) and were very satisfied and you are the first one who leaves us a negative review,so the way you leave your review makes the other 8000 guest looks stupid or liars. Hibiscus is now the number one B&B (55 B&B's at Curacao) rated by our guest You only stayed two days at Hibiscus and most off the time you spend in your room, you also knew before that Hibiscus is a small B&B (max 10 guest) and that Curacao is a Dutch Island with mainly Dutch tourist but also a lot off other nationalities We never had noisy groups staying with us and all rooms are very private (see all previous reviews by guests who were staying). Also first you made the reservation by Bookings.com and then you canceled and we were cooperative with your cancellation and after one week you decided to re book again with no extra cost charged, all very confusing. The pool is big enough for everybody and we find it very very unfriendly the way you respond, the room change you didn't mind and the room is perfectly alright its a room for 2 persons and you stayed on your own and if you mind why didn't tell us instead off telling us its all perfect. When our guest arrive we give them all information about Curacao but with you didn't even gave us the change because you stayed in your room, two times no breakfast, all very strange, the result is that you see absolutely nothing off the beautiful Island Curacao. Say it once again we have been very happy with our previous guest and they have been with us,the proof is written down by many excellent reviews.

We wanted to checkout early and requested a refund for the nights we did not stay, because we did not like the atmosphere and found a cockroach in our room. This resulted in the manager intruding our room, choking me, threating to punch my wife with our baby on her arm and yelling at us to get out immediately. We had to call the police to safely guide us out of the place. Worst experience ever!

We have been in contact with trip advisor team about this sick review left by people who are most likely mentally disturbed. We hope that trip advisor will take action against that kind of person who probably likes to destroy someone's company. Most people will not take this madness seriously when they read how many guests had a unforgettable and wonderful stay at Hibiscus. This people never stayed at Hibiscus and we find it incredible that it is possible to put down lies. Frustating that anyone can write down anything without being punished.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Curacao for our honeymoon thanks to Diana and Martin at the Hibiscus. They provided excellent communication before the travel regarding booking and picking us up from the airport (yes- that's included, too!). While we were there, they were fantastic hosts. They served up a tasty breakfast every morning between 8-10am, which was included in the price (bread, cheeses, veggies, fruits, spreads, fresh juices, cappucinos, eggs, etc.- delicious!) and were happy to help provide us with tips and suggestions for what to do on the island. They booked us a full day tour of the island, which was great, as well as a trip to Klein Curacao Mermaid Boat Trip. What great recommendations! The Klein Curacao trip is especially recommended.
Our room was very spacious. Everything was very clean and the decorations were very nice. You can tell the family has put their heart and soul into this operation. The air conditioning worked well, but we limited our use of it- we liked having the windows open. The wifi works well from certain areas of the house and almost everywhere in the common lounge areas- worked out well for us! Also: there is a public bus (#6A) that runs to/from the beach house into Willemstad (passes by the Sea Aquarium on the way) about once per hour. We found this very convenient and used it often. Jan Thiel beach and many lovely restaurants are just a few minutes' walk away. Great location on the east side of the island.
If you are looking for a tourist-filled, all-inclusive resort, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a nice, relaxing trip in a cosy (only 4 rooms!), friendly, family-run place close to the wonderful Jan Thiel beach and many nice restaurants- we would HIGHLY recommend Hibiscus. The owners will go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable, relaxed and having a great time. :)
Thank you so much, Diana and Martin, for creating this wonderful place. We are so happy we chose Hibiscus for our honeymoon. -J&G from Berlin

There are more places to choose from in the Willemstad area.
