#7 of 63 B&Bs / Inns in Willemstad
Villa Tokara is the most beautiful place to stay on Curacao. The monumental villa has only five guestrooms, great service and a delicious breakfast by the pool. It’s right a the edge of Pietermaai, the recently renovated neighborhood with lots of great restaurants, nightlife and historic architecture to enjoy. At walking distance is Punda, the oldest part of Willemstad. Across the street is the Caribbean sea. All guestrooms are beautifully decorated with love and care and proximately 40m2. Bathrooms are large, have rain showers, double washbasins and all amenities. There’s one family room with a separate bedroom with two single beds. This room has a private patio too. All rooms have large king size double beds. There’s one smaller room: the patio room. Business travelers will feel at home at Villa Tokara too. It’s centrally located, quiet and there’s plenty of room to do some work if needed: in the comfort of your airconditioned room, in the living room or somewhere on the terrace. Tell us if you need a desk in your room. In the late afternoon or in the evening it’s an excellent place to wind down from a busy day. There are many dining options at walking distance.

My Fiance and I spent Christmas in Curacao and stayed at Villa Tokara for 8 nights. We absolutely loved it. the island itself is loads of fun with very nice people, fantastic snorkeling, and very good food - but this is a review of our stay at Villa Tokara - not the whole island. First off - the location in the Nieuw Nederland district of Willemstad is perfect - some of the best restaurants on the entire island are within a 2 minute walk. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hosts are so very pleasant - available for questions and a conversation, will book tables at restaurants for you, and give honest advice on where to go and what to expect. The property itself is very interesting - a renovated historical house form the Dutch Colonial days - full of charm and character.

Sadly, today is our last full day at Villa Tokara with our host Arriën. This is a beautiful property across the street from the Caribbean Sea and close to everything in Willemstad. We chose the upstairs suite and absolutely love the space. Stand up shower, great rainfall shower head, in room refrigerator, and great quality bedroom air conditioning are all part of this wonderful experience. Plenty of room for clothes storage, a flat screen television, and places to sit, relax, and unwind. You’ll greatly enjoy the beautiful pool that in the middle of what feels like a private art garden. Breakfasts on the terrace are made to perfection with top quality fruit, eggs, and bread. Arriën was extremely helpful in guiding us to restaurants and local attractions based upon our preferences. He knows a tremendous amount about Curaçao and is happy to share his knowledge and experiences. We chose Villa Tokara based upon guest ratings from TripAdvisor guests. The very high expectations from these ratings were met and exceeded. We were told that Villa Tokara was THE place to stay in Curaçao. It clearly is the best choice. You won’t be disappointed in your stay here.

What a wonderful hotel. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay at Villa Tokara was for our birthday week this past November. The B and B's location is excellent within walking distance of down town and easily accessible by bus or taxi. Staying at Villa Tokara is special, you get a very homey feel, as if you are in your own living room/yard. Arrien is a great host who was always available to give recommendations for restaurants and sights in the area and serves a great made to order breakfast. When we return to Curacao, we will definitely be staying at Villa Tokara again.

Come to Villa Tokara for a full immersion in the best that the Caribbean has to offer! For a fantastic vacation on this beautiful unique island of Curacao, the Villa Tokara provides the perfect headquarters. Villa Tokara is a converted historic mansion with so much character. It is ideally located in the tony Pietermaai district, just a stones throw from the sea and adjacent to the best restaurants. Most importantly, the attentive host Arriën Lekkerkerker and his delightful family and staff insure a personalized touch for their guests seeking to explore the amenities of Curacao, whether for adventure or relaxation. Arriën is always available to answer questions or facilitate planning of activities. Arriën even made himself and his motorboat available for a half day outing on the coast which included snorkeling. For a warm, friendly, home-like vacation experience in an exotic location, come to Villa Tokara, and your vacation will be as refreshing as an ocean breeze.

Arren is a fantastic host, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Villa Tokara is just a 10 minute walk to the center of town but far enough away to avoid the crowds, especially when cruise ships arrive. Lots of trendy, excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Breakfast is wonderful with fresh fruit and hot croissants every morning. The pool is nice for a quick cooling off after a day of activities. Rooms are comfortable. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. One of the best we have stayed in. There's a nice beach across the street.
