Second time going there, came there around the same time last year with family and friends. Since last time, there has been a significant change where the water and the beach are still amazing but the services like towels, rooms, food, people serving us, utilities were either worse, wore down, or lacked sufficient amounts to really truly enjoy this vacation and the amount we spent to come to a resort that I truly loved last year. I find it humorous that the services offered at the resort downgraded so much since then and would like to understand the reasons behind it. I've already tried to ask the administrator of the resort the problems I had with the resort as did many others, but wasn't given an explanation to this. As for the people who worked there last year, many of them I didn’t find to be there anymore and seemed to have left. As for anyone else who’s considering going here, I recommend looking somewhere else.

Came for our honey moon and were extremely disappointed. From the awful service to the terrible food & drink, Sunscape has been an absolute mess. Embarrassed to say this was our “vacation.” We even went as far as trying to cancel our stay mid week to try to move resorts. Will certainly not be coming back, and advise that you do not come either.

Everything is old, worn and faded glory. It really needs an update / refit. the kitchen smells come through the airco system into your room around 6 oclock in the morning. The food is tasteless/bad and before it is on your plate, about100 mosquitoes were sitting on it. Disgusting !!!!

The property is beautiful with great pools and beach access. The individual employees seem helpful and nice. Despite those positives, this hotel was frustrating and I wouldn’t stay there again. The issues were: 1 Understaffing. Calls to the “sun club”, concierge, and room service frequently went unanswered. When they were answered people promised things that were not followed through on. We ordered room service twice during our stay; It took 30 minutes for them to answer the first time and the second time I called for 45 minutes before I called a different number to ask if room service was closed. The concierge took my order - which was nice except I ordered my food without meat and everything came with meat. On our first day - we tried to get towels from the towel shed but it was closed by 4pm when it was listed as open til 5. On our first night we requested extra towels and pillows and it took multiple attempts and phone calls from 5pm- 10pm before we got them. During our stay, housekeeping came as we were 2 minutes away from hitting the beach. I asked her to come back in two minutes but we just never got service that day. We called before dinner and were told everybody was gone for the day. In the restaurants you sit there with an empty beverage for too long, thirsty while eating. 2. Lack of promised “premium” services -our room price included premium services that we did not get. Premium services included daily restocking of the mini bar. Ours was not restocked once during our trip despite multiple requests for water, soda, and coffee. After 4 days we complained in person to the sun club and we finally got 4 bottles of water, 1 coke, and no coffee. Premium services also included room service and the concierge and as mentioned above - neither answered their phones. The drinks were included but there was almost always a line and sometimes a long one, even at the “premium” bar. 3. The Restaurants- The food and menus were not good. As a pescatarian- some restaurants literally had no options other than beef/chicken (Bluewater grill, Hibachi restaurant) and even the seafood restaurant only had fried options. The food they did have was not awesome. I’d rather pay a la carte for food that is healthy and tastes good then have free fried food and French fries. 4. The customer service - there was no follow-thru on simple requests for things like housekeeping service, clean towels, pillows etc. When we followed up repeatedly asking for water and soda there were no apologies or explanations. It was really odd and uncomfortable. I reached out to corporate and shared my feedback. I got an acknowledgment of receipt and a promise that somebody would be in touch shortly but that was almost two weeks ago. I guess I wasn’t surprised…..

Sunscape Curaçao is very pleasant in most respects--the beach and water were comfortable, with some colorful fish, it is pretty quiet (especially if you get a room away from the pool areas), clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very well-intentioned. I enjoyed the add-on diving with Ocean Excursions that leaves from the resort's dock. On the down side, the food was dormitory quality at best. Plan on eating out much of the time (pricing was reasonable for my stay even if you pretend food is not included). There is an excellent seafood shack on one side of the resort, and a promenade with several decent restaurants on the other, but renting a car isn't a bad idea to explore the island and expand your options. Skip the invitation to visit the VIP services desk on arrival to get a bunch of resort credit, unless you really want some spa and wine coupons because they will make you sit through a very irritating time-share-style sales pitch for other AMR properties. You can also look forward to a mandatory survey on check-out with demographic questions that you can't skip, and a $25/towel catch deposit (even if you have a credit card on file) to take towels out of the resort when you visit other beaches. These aspects felt unnecessarily chintzy. Decor is fairly simple and best described as "motel chic." It is by no means unpleasant, but don't expect luxury. I would rate this as a 3-star resort with 1-star food. If you're looking for a quieter property and that fits your priorities, you'll be very happy.

Beautiful beach, beautiful island food was lackluster. Poor service and attitude of staff. Food and drinks took a very long time. The resort seemed very understaffed, and it showed. I would not recommend.

The resort is situated on a beautiful long beach with a long rock and coral wall barrier about fifty feet offshore that provides very good snorkeling and forms a sort of calm and natural swimming pool. That's the only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of only one. The food was so bad I dreaded going to meals due to poor quality all over as well as meager portions at the specialty restaurants. The food was plentiful but cheap.at the buffets but the beef was so tough I couldn't cut it and the same frozen swai (the most inexpensive white fish you can buy) was alternately billed as swordfish, grouper, or mahi. No way! The "cheesecake: and "tiramasu" we ordered for dessert consisted of about two tablespoons of creamy stuff in the bottom of a little plastic cup! What a disappointment! The service was often abominable. One morning it was a full hour from the time we sat down until our food was placed on our table. However, if you were like most of the guests, the drinks were more important than the food so maybe you could tolerate this. After numerous requests to get our leaky toilet fixed, someone tried unsuccessfully twice to fix it, so we had to live with a flooded bathroom that spilled out into a puddle in the hallway by the closet. Also, we had a problem with room keycards working only sporadically and after numerous requests when nothing was done, we found ourselves locked out of our room one night. We walked all the way back to the concierge desk where she told us someone from security would be there immediately to fix it. After waiting outside our door in the dark for a half hour, we finally flagged down someone from housekeeping who called security who said they had never been contacted. The problem was a dying battery in the door mechanism that should have been fixed long ago that now was completely dead. I'm not one of those people who always complains, and I always try to be completely objective in my reviews, so decide for yourself if this is the place for you.
