This is a great resort for us because every time we come they know who we are and are interested in us. They'll do anything to make you feel at home. It became our home away from home.
The staff is amazingly friendly and everyone is nice.
The bungalows are very clean and well equipped for cooking if you want. A patio is one of the things you will be enjoying.
Beds are perfect. I'll advice everyone to book a grocery package in advance, so when you're at your destination you'll have cold drinks and food for two days.
There is a bus going to the supermarket every day at 10 am all is included.
Situated near Mambo boulevard/beach it is a very nice place to be.

My wife and I enjoy self-catering holidays on islands which retain their Caribbean charm. We have favorite bungalows on Guadeloupe, Grenada, Tobago and Curacao. When in Curacao we stay at the Bon Bini, a gem of a resort on an exceptional island.

If you enjoy a beach with lots of other Americans, the Marriott, the Hilton, the Seascape or one of the other large hotels is for you. The Bon Bini is different.

The Bon Bini Seaside Resort is a collection of impeccably maintained and appointed bungalows on a hillside across from one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. The grounds are filled with trees and bushes which are home to an impressive variety of bird species. Among them are orioles, troupials, bananaquits, warblers, doves, bare-eyed pigeons and Caribbean parakeets. Putting some crushed up crackers or some sugar on the table on your porch will give you an opportunity to see lots of them up close. If you are a bird lover, the Bon Bini is the place for you! There are also iguanas and whiptail lizards, many of the latter sporting beautiful blue-green colors with white spots. Both species like grapes and pieces of bananas. The Bon Bini is a great place for nature lovers.

The bungalows have large, well equipped kitchens. The living room is spacious and comfortable with lots of windows to pick up the prevailing breeze. The bedroom is good sized and has very effective air conditioning. The beds are comfortable.

The Bon Bini furnishes guests with passes to Seaquarium Beach which is directly across the street. The beach has a collection of beach bars and lounge chairs. The snorkeling is exceptionally good and convenient for those who are not strong swimmers. Snorkeling hint: crush up some crackers in a zip-lock bag, and add enough water to turn it to mush. When you squirt some of this out into the water it will bring lots of fish to you.

And the Bon Bini staff is wonderful.

Curacao is a very safe island. I have never had a concern for my safety while on the island. Most mornings I would hike a trail from the Bon Bini to Jan Thiel beach and back - a fairly good hour-long workout that I would not feel safe doing on many other islands. No one has ever asked me for money on Curacao or pushed a souvenir on me.

I highly recommend The Bon Bini for anyone who wants to unwind in a beautiful, natural island environment. I can't wait for our next visit, which will be our sixth stay at the resort.

This is a bungalow complex across the street from and overlooking the sea, a very short walk over there to nice beach for which passes are provided.. The buildings are solid, well furnished , clean and safe. The guests are predominantly Europeans. There is a nice outdoor pool. Perfect for family stays or others who want to eat breakfast at home and don't need an entertainment director.

This entire place needs some TLC. It looks much better on the photos than it really is. It is a short walk to the beach, but it is a very busy and noisy place.
Don't expect quiet nights as the beach parties sound loudly and keep you out of your sleep until 2AM, if you like partying fine, but if you come for a rest don't stay here.

I requested and was guaranteed a Refurbished 1 bedroom apartment. When escorted to the apartment I was told that unit # 218 was a refurbished apartment. It was only a few days later, when a housekeeping person showed me a refurnished apartment that I realized that I had been lied to by the person who took my reservation 5 months prior and by the front desk staff who escorted us to the apartment. As of March 2015, apartment 218 is an old apartment. Despite this, the apartment looks nicer than pictured on their website. The apartment is quite large, however, only the bedroom is air conditioned, so the living room, kitchen, and dining areas are extremely hot (even with windows open) from about 10am until about an hour after sunset. We requested a floor fan, which helped. Hot water is excellent! Beds are comfortable, however the rattan furniture (with thin cushions) in the living room, is quite uncomfortable (old and refurbished units have the same uncomfortable furniture). Each bungalow has its own driveway for parking your car and a large balcony with 2 loungers, patio table with chairs, and a rack for drying clothes. The kitchen is well equipped with full fridge and gas stove, microwave (on request), small coffee maker (refurbished units get a 10 cup coffee maker), toaster, decent pots, with dishes and glasses for 6. There are new countertops in the refurbished units. There is a 32" flat screen TV with cable. Access to Wifi costs $20 per device and their Internet connection is terrible! When Internet access is free and you get a poor connection, one can conclude that 'you get what you pay for', but charging $20 for their lousy Internet is a total rip off. The only place I could get a decent connection was inside the office.
There is a medium sized pool. When we arrived the grounds were lovely, with large green spaces as well as areas covered with white stones. However during our stay they covered all the grassy areas with plastic and then brought in truckloads of stone so there are no green spaces on the property. Thus the title of this review; 'say goodbye to the birds, iguanas, and rabbits' that used to feed on the grass and the small creatures in the grass.
Sunsets are best experienced on Mambo beach, which is across the road. Daily passes to the beach are provided, though chair rental is extra (5 gilders). Two local grocery stores (Vreugdenhil & Best Buy) provide free daily shuttle service to their stores (M-Sat x2/da, Sun 1/da), so grocery shopping couldn't be more convenient - and you will need to take advantage of this service as the only amenity provided is 2 rolls of TP, hardly enough for a 2 week stay (no dish or handsoap, no shampoo, no coffee filters, etc). Busses and minibuses stop along the street between the hotel and Mambo beach which take you into the Punda for 2.75 gilders.

Had a one bedroom bungalow (222) at this resort for two weeks in July and we both really enjoyed our stay.
The resort is barrier controlled, so no strangers walking round. It’s lovely, quiet and peaceful with well kept grounds with lots of different flowers, trees and shrubs.
The reception staff are really helpful, especially Kim B and Kim G – they can give you tickets for the beach (Mambo/sea aquarium), advise on the breakfast that is available just over the road and you can buy tickets from them. There are lots of leaflets and info and they are more than happy to chat and give you any help and advise you might need.
There is a daily supermarket bus which will take you and bring you back, should you need it.
There is a swimming pool on site, not massive but wonderful to have a cooling swim in when you come back from the beach or town. Plenty of chairs and sun beds are available. The bar was closed whilst we were there as it was out of season, but as your bungalow is only feet away, that wasn’t really a problem. Although there are toilets right near to the pool which are clean, the sink had no running water or hand towels provided – not good really. There is a drinks machine there where you can get a cold can if you like.
The resort is situation just across the road from Mamo Beach/sea aquarium beach etc and just a short drive from Willemstad. We had a car for the two weeks (which I really would recommend) and explored the whole island and we felt that the Bon Bini Resort was in an excellent location – so easy to get everywhere from there.

Kitchen/Sitting room
The bungalow was large, clean and airy with a well equipped kitchen – it’s not 5 star luxury, but more than comfortable and definitely suitable for us.
There is a ceiling fan in the room, but it just seems to re-distribute the very hot air. If you open the kitchen windows and the big patio doors, you will get a nice through breeze to cool you down.
You have a good fridge/freezer to store all your drinks/food etc. There is a tea towel, hand towel and dish cloth provided in the kitchen and this is replaced by the cleaning staff. We had a full size cooker with oven, microwave, kettle and toaster (although the toaster only worked one side and we had to put the bread in twice!)
There is a table and 4 chairs in the room, but outside on the porch/veranda there is another table and 2 chairs and 2 lounger beds.
You can see pictures on their website which show the way the room is furnished – quite comfortable.
It was really lovely (as others have stated) to have breakfast outside and to watch the wildlife. Sprinkle a little sugar on the edge of the handrail and you will attract lots of little birds. Other birds, lizards, iguanas and even the odd rabbit will be there too – just in case you might have a little bread or fruit for them. Just be a bit wary at night because the mosquito’s are about then and we did get bitten a couple of times having a nightcap outside – not a big problem.
There is also a very good clothes hanger to put any washing on and a bag containing quite a few pegs too – another thing that you won’t have to bother bringing.

There is very good air con in the bedroom, but not in the bathroom, which really felt stifling at times. An easy solution is to open the door between the bedroom and bathroom and keep this open at all times, the air con soon circulates into the bathroom and keeps it lovely and cool.
There is a large wardrobe in the bedroom with plenty of hangers – so you don’t need to bring these with you – and another wardrobe just outside the bedroom door which also contains and iron and ironing board.
A safe is located in the bottom of the wardrobe. There is a dressing table, chair and two double beds.

It’s not easy to think of any cons at the property really as we were happy with most things, but if I had to list any little niggles, it would be:
No plugs at the dressing table, so drying my hair was difficult as the only available socket was just that bit too far for me to be able to see.
No full length mirror (nice but not essential).
Nowhere to put anything in the walk-in shower – there were quite a few holes that had been filled it, so it looked like there may have been some at an earlier point that had been pulled out, but it just meant putting shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, sponges etc either on the floor of the shower or on the back of the toilet lid.
The front door of the bungalow could have done with an inner lock as you needed the key card to put into the air con unit and either had to leave the front door open or locked – not easy if you want to open the door to anyone or pop out for something, you had to keep going into the bedroom for the key and back again.

As you can see, there is nothing really very wrong and I’ve had to wrack my brain to come up with these few things. We had a really fantastic time in Curacao and would highly recommend the Bon Bini Resort. If you are thinking of booking – don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it!
Another big thank you to Bonaire Fun Travel/Caribbean Fun Travel who were extremely helpful with our booking and were so knowledgeable about the Island and the resort.

We recently returned from our first trip to Curacao. We had looked at many options for our stay, including vacation bungalows, villas, and homes. We decided to stay at Bonbini based on a recommendation from a family member who lives and works in Curacao. We had booked the bungalow for 11 nights out of a 12 night stay on the island, they were booked for the last evening but we ended up being able to stay the last night which helped us out a lot.

The booking process was very easy, they were prompt in returning email and all the information they provided was accurate. The price we ended up paying was exactly what we were quoted. We arrived at the resort on Sunday afternoon, the office was closed but the keys were left with the security guard and we had no problems getting in. We were pleasantly surprised with the size and cleanliness of the bungalow, very spartan but had everything that we needed for our stay. There were two mid-sized bedrooms, one with a king size bed (my parents stayed in this room), and another bedroom with two queen size beds for my wife and I and our two young children. Both bedrooms had televisions and bathrooms with showers. The beds were very firm which took some getting used to, if you are looking for a soft bed you will be disappointed. However we found that we had very busy days and had no trouble falling asleep, although we did wake up a little sore in the mornings.

The kitchen was well stocked, there was a coffee maker and toaster, and pots and pans, plates, etc. and cutlery. We ate around half of our meals at the bungalow and it had everything we needed. It would have been nice to have a BBQ for outdoor cooking, but overall it was fine.

The remainder of the bungalow was a sitting area with couch and loveseat, and an eating nook with four chairs. There was also a small table and chairs if you wanted to eat inside. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the view of the Caribbean and the great sunsets. There was two lounge chairs and four deck chairs, perfect for our situation. There is also a laundry facility at the resort, worked well for us.

With our two young kids we spent a lot of time either at the beach or at the pool. It is a small vinyl lined pool, great for the kids and the area was very clean. This is not a busy resort so there was never problems with the pool being crowded. The location of this resort is fantastic, just across the road is Mambo Beach, it is busy but nice sand, have to pay for either your lounge chairs or the palapas, but if you go early you can find something fairly easily. Entrance to the beach is included with your bungalow. Great beach for kids, there is a wave break that makes it very calm and safe for the little ones. The weekends were very busy at the beach, we stayed away as we could see by the parking lot that it would be packed. Typical public beach, they want to sell you food and drink and frown on you bringing your own, but no big deal as you could find burgers, etc. at a decent price.

There were a few minor things that were negative about the resort. They had WIFI, but it was very unreliable and I often had trouble connecting, but we were on holidays so it wasn't a big deal.... We also had no hot water for part of the stay, they said they were upgrading, but when we did mention the problem they were quick to get it going again. Also, the office is closed for part of the days and all day on Sunday, but once you know that you can plan accordingly.

Overall for us the positives far outweighed the negatives. This is a no frills resort, but it is clean, the staff are great, and the location is perfect. It is very close to the Sea Aquarium, there are some good local restaurants, and the Breezes Casino is just down the road. If you are looking for a luxurious bed and fancy surroundings, this isn't the resort for you. But if you are looking for a clean, safe place to stay with the basic amenities at a great price, I would recommend Bonbini Seaside Resort. We will certainly consider it for our next trip.

Thanks to all the staff at Bonbini for our stay, we enjoyed it a lot and have tons of great memories!

We booked this resort through their website and asked many questions before deciding on Bon Bini....unfortunately, they were not the correct questions. First, the office has very limited hours and not a guarantee they will be there. They are open until 1pm or 3pm on Sat and don't re-open until Mon and even then they are only open until 6pm with a 2 hour break in the middle of the day. You have to plan around their schedule. The first bungalow we were assigned was dirty (we were told we couldn't check in until after noon because it was being cleaned) and in need of a good paint job. The walls were disgusting! There was some sort of fruit in the slats on the wall which I'm sure didn't help with the bug problem. We went into the king bed bedroom and as soon as we turned on the lights we could see there was an ant problem. Not just a few, but a small army. We got bug spray and sprayed the room which killed many, but others were still alive. The ants were on the wall, the door jams and the floor. These were the big and black ants...there were the small brown ants in the kitchen. We later tried to get our room changed, due to the situation and were told they were full. We asked what the cancellation policy was and were told 2 weeks, but they would come and look at the room and see how bad it was. Needless to say, they were shocked at the number of dead ants on the floor and that others, after several hours, were still alive. They did manage to change our room, which was better than the first, not great, but better. The good is they have A/C, in the bedrooms only, but it does a good job of staying cool if you keep the drapes closed. We could never get the TV to work, even after following the instructions. The bathrooms leave a lot to be desired...they were moldy and need to be redone. It would be nice to get some hot water for the shower, but the shower had good water pressure. There are no hand towels or washcloths, so if you need these you need to bring them from home.

We are probably four of the easiest Americans to please. All we really require is that the room be clean. We don't need all the other amenities that other places offer. We would suggest safes in the rooms because they do offer safe deposit boxes in the main office, but with their very limited hours and security guards unable to assist with this, you have to plan accordingly, which defeats the purpose of a safe deposit box.

After talking to the office people, they understand that if they want to get more Americans, they need to improve tremendously. The good news is that a new management company just took over, the bad news is that nothing has been done for over 9 months and apparently, nothing will probably get done for several more months. At this time, we wouldn't recommend staying here. Maybe some of the other bungalows are better than others, but they all appear to need renovations.

I totally agree with the previous review. The bungalows are simple, but really fine. They are cleaned every day. As the bungalows are not to close to each other and there is a lovely garden, you really have privacy. You have your own parking space in front of the bungalow.
The guards and the people at the reception are very friendly. It is also possible to do your own washing and ironing (not for free).

It is a short walk to the Mambo beach to which entrance is for free for Bon Bini guests (you do have to pay for a chair). By car Willemstad is only 5-10 minutes away.

Bon Bini is a great option! I would definately return there.

Listed on all internet sites as air conditioned; kitchen, living, room and bathrooms are not ( they are sweltering). Unscreened wooden slatted windows and window slatted doors, leave large spaces between slays for mosquitoes to enter. This is poses a health risk in a region where Zika, dengue and chilkunguya have been reported. Also, wood slatted doors are easily broken into. Bed are rock hard and uncomfortable. If you want to wash your hands, be sure to bring your own soap since none is provided. This resort is not recommended to anyone. Spare yourself the experience.
