Directly on the beautiful beach of Curaçao. Nice clean rooms with airco. The hotel offers 4 restaurants where you can eat, however only way to get a table is to reserve several days ahead of time, especially Nemo and Hemingway, it is always full so not great to offer these facilities and yet limited availability. I asked if this was due to Corona but apparently this was not the case, quite disappointing. If you want to secure a spot on the beach with lounge beds and parasol be prepared to lay your towel down around 6:30 am!! Such a shame as some guests don’t arrive at their ‘taken’ beds until after a few hours, hotel personnel should take more control of this.

Hotel's Favorite
Amazing location, food and service, but mostly super safe now during COVID. Great safety measurements and everything is still open! No face masks and just the perfect, relaxing holiday with 2 (or 3?) amazing pools! We all had to do a test right before flying, so this holidays feels safer than walking om Central Station in Amsterdam! Rooms are amazing, ocean views are really oceans views, but ocean front is even better. Everything is super clean and after many times on this island I really should say the crew is the kindest one of this island. We went to many other hotels, but here there are professional and kind in the perfect way. From the restaurant-staff till the managers or the owners; they all make sure this holiday is perfect and safe. Maybe its because we came out of quarantaine, but really; food at Hemmingway was surprisingly good. Its so nice to sit at the restaurant, on the beach, with so many different quests; families, locals, couples, people travelling alone. I didnt expect so many quests already! Made no pictures, too busy enjoying this amazing holiday.

Our first night we ate at Hemingway's at the resort. Got the Caesar salad, which didn't taste good, nor did it taste like caesar. My salmon had some thick mayonnaise based "sauce" that just wasn't right for the dish and my wife's fish was not fresh at all, very fishy. And it had the exact same sauce. My wife, son and I spend $150 on food and drinks with cheap liquor. Very disappointing. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel beside breakfast. We got the breakfast package and the first day was ok, but nothing like the buffets we have had at other resorts in the Caribbean. They had some scrambled eggs; but not sure if they were really eggs. Pancakes were homemade but greasy. Who makes greasy pancakes? Sausage was overcooked or undercooked. Language was an issue for us, so ordering two eggs over easy gave us overcooked dried out eggs. So we stopped asking for those. They often ran out of items like plates, muffins, etc and really didn't want to keep everything stocked in the last hour of the breakfast service. With all that said, the resort beach is awesome with great sand and snorkeling area for kids, but don't expect any huge fish or cool eels anything like that. You have to put you towel out on chairs at 6:30 AM to get a spot under shade (They are building more shade umbrellas though!). Its really nice to walk down to Mambo beach (next door). There are lots of good dining options, but once again expensive and touristy. This may be fine for some, but we like to venture out and get a more authentic taste of the food on the island (and spend less!). Rooms are renovated and clean. I'd like AC in bathroom, but hey, its the Caribbean. Water pressure in shower was horrible, but they are probably trying to conserve water. No washcloths either (typical for European islands). You get charged for your entire stay when you check in, which I have never seen before. Perhaps this is the custom in Caracao. I also got charged allowance of $50/day and if you go over it, back to the office for them to charge more! Staff was generally friendly and helpful. But there is no concierge, so advice on tours and restaurants was hit or miss depending on who you talked to; best to confide in Tripadvisor. They have keycards to get into the parking area which is a plus, but you have to get out of your car to use the keycard. Not sure who designed that system.

We had a wonderful time. The room was nice, clean and comfortable and had a great ocean view. The staff was professional and helpful. The hotel has a beautiful large and lively beach erea with enough beach beds, several bars and restaurants and friendly service on the beach itself. Chill and Hemmingway, but also the newly reopened Nemo were fantastic places to have a drink or enjoy a beautiful waterfront (sunset) diner. We’ll be back!

If you like noise and want to party this is the place to stay. On the weekends, the music from the beach doesn’t stop until after 1 a.m. and it can be heard/felt throughout the resort. There is no adult only areas. Joyfully, screaming kids can be heard all day long. I didn’t need an alarm since a baby, in a nearby room, woke up crying at 6:30 in the morning. With cinder brick/concrete construction I expected a little more noise damping. Don’t stay in room 2111! It has two good features, a view of the beach and close beach access. Both of those features increase the noise in the room. Carts for the restaurants, housekeeping, towels for the beach all are pushed passed the door and you hear them clearly. The movement starts about 5:30 a.m., about four hours after the music stops. All the staff here are pleasant with the exception of the wait staff at Hemingway’s restaurant. Make sure you order as soon as you can get someone to your table otherwise you could sit there for hours. We had to flag down service each time we ate lunch there (3 times). Flag someone to get a menu, flag someone to put in a drink order (or go to the bar and order directly), flag someone down to order, flag someone down for a drink refill, flag someone down for the check. Do you see the pattern? There is a lack of eye contact so it is hard to get the wait staffs attention. By the third time we knew to get our order in before the wait staff left our table. On the 4-7 days we decided it was too much hassle and a waste of two hours for marginal food. In direct contrast is the wait staff at Piazza! Cindy and Elaina (I might not have the correct spelling) are fantastic! They are personable. They check to see how the food is and if you need anything. They notice when your drink is empty. Unfortunately Piazza isn’t open everyday and it’s not open for lunch. When the food arrive at your table from Piazza it was steaming hot. The food from Hemingway’s or Nemo (another on site restaurant) was warm. Now the reason for my title. The bed pillows at this resort are the worse I have ever encountered anywhere! I have travel to 6 continents and these are the hardest “pillows”. I eventually used a beach towel and my travel pillow, both which were softer.
