Nestled in a prime location, LionsDive Beach Resort is celebrated by many for its easy access to beaches, eateries, and the airport. Guests enjoy a vibrant, tropical atmosphere, although the nearby clubs' music volume is noted. The staff's friendliness and thoughtful amenities like shuttle services and welcome gifts garner appreciation, but there are occasional mentions of lackluster service. While most reviews applaud the resort for its cleanliness and the diverse dining and snorkeling opportunities, some guests suggest improvements in pool amenities and room decor. Opinions on value vary, with the resort being perceived as either a fair deal or slightly overpriced by different reviewers.

This place is amazing!!!!! The resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and literally steps away from Mambo beach Blvd! The rooms are spacious. We got the 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Olympic size pool. We could also had partial ocean view! The balconies are enormous and a wraparound so noatter where you were you had access to balcony, There was a giant size table and 6 chairs so you could sit and chill outside or have meals/drinks and enjoy the breeze. There are 2 loungers. There is a full size kitchen and full size fridge with stove, microwave, sink, and dishwasher. The beach is gorgeous! Water is super clear and you can see turtles, tons of fish and other sea creatures. There are some rocks so you might want to bring water shoes. The water is like a pool with almost no waves at all. You do need to get up pretty early if you want a shaded spot! Towels are also in short supply but understandable. Shout out to Shendon a the beach hut who is a pretty cool guy and super friendly. He also always has a smile and willing to help. We had the best housekeeping staff! Shoutout to Simone Robinson who took awesome care of us and did an amazing job cleaning our room. piazza makes the best pina coladas! Cindy was our bartender. We couldnt find any tequila tho ahe coffee was really espresso. So couldnt find a great cup of coffee anywhere but it was different than what Im used to. Nina and Bert(sorry if thats not his name) from Hemingway was also super cool. Service with a smile. Also told us alot about the resort as well as places to go to off the resort. Chill beach bar also had some great people there as well. One guy was on break and still helped us out with taxi service vs bus service. as well as some local stuff to do. He is originally from Curacao left for a while to go to St Martin but came back. So huge thank you to him. There was some negatives- really loud music, paper thins walls in rooms, smokers everywhere, and when the cruise ships
came in almost impossible to get a beach chair.
Mambo beach blvd has some great restaurants and really cool vibe.Attention to American travelers- Electrical outlets are different so need an adapter but hotel does provide it. Thanks Lion Dive and Curacao for a great vacation!

My girlfriend and I stayed at LionsDive for 4 nights.

Pros:
This resort is in an awesome location. It is just a short drive away from multiple great restaurants and other beaches. The resort is also surrounded by multiple bars and restaurants on the property. Also, we really enjoyed the amenities that the resort offers. The two pools were great, as well as the small huts on the beach that you can use to relax and stay out of the sun. All of the resort staff were very helpful and friendly. The beach and the snorkeling at this resort was great as well.

Cons:
Because of the location that the resort is in, you can usually hear loud music from the surrounding bars at night on weekends. We also heard very loud fireworks one night during our stay. The rooms also stay pretty humid, the air conditioner in our room didn't do much to cool it down either. One of the cabinets I used to store my clothes in made them have a weird odor, possibly from said humidity. We also were a given room with two double beds instead of the king bed that we selected during reservation.

Overall, I believe the pros outweigh the cons for LionsDive. We had a great time. If you're looking for somewhere secluded and quiet, you might want to look elsewhere. Pretty good experience for the price.

We had the most relaxed and comfortable 10 days of our lives at Lions Dive. Our room was at a low key spot at the back of the resort. Outside it was quite hot and busy but inside it was quiet and cool. People don't go to Curaçao to sit in a hotel room all day but one could because the rooms are equipped with all the modern furnishings one would need.
And a proper AC is important to be able to sleep and we were not disappointed.

The staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. This deserves an extra compliment because there were some grumpy Dutch tourists around who weren't easy to please.
We loved the pools and pool areas and of course Hemmingways, the friendly bar/restaurant with the laid back atmosphere on the beautiful white beach, where we also had our simple but delicious breakfast every morning.
We think the well kept tropical garden between the hotel buildings gives Lions Dive an extra caribbean touch.
All that remains is one burning question: why oh why oh why didn't we stay longer? WHY?

If you like noise and want to party this is the place to stay. On the weekends, the music from the beach doesn’t stop until after 1 a.m. and it can be heard/felt throughout the resort. There is no adult only areas. Joyfully, screaming kids can be heard all day long. I didn’t need an alarm since a baby, in a nearby room, woke up crying at 6:30 in the morning. With cinder brick/concrete construction I expected a little more noise damping. Don’t stay in room 2111! It has two good features, a view of the beach and close beach access. Both of those features increase the noise in the room. Carts for the restaurants, housekeeping, towels for the beach all are pushed passed the door and you hear them clearly. The movement starts about 5:30 a.m., about four hours after the music stops.

All the staff here are pleasant with the exception of the wait staff at Hemingway’s restaurant. Make sure you order as soon as you can get someone to your table otherwise you could sit there for hours. We had to flag down service each time we ate lunch there (3 times). Flag someone to get a menu, flag someone to put in a drink order (or go to the bar and order directly), flag someone down to order, flag someone down for a drink refill, flag someone down for the check. Do you see the pattern? There is a lack of eye contact so it is hard to get the wait staffs attention. By the third time we knew to get our order in before the wait staff left our table. On the 4-7 days we decided it was too much hassle and a waste of two hours for marginal food. In direct contrast is the wait staff at Piazza! Cindy and Elaina (I might not have the correct spelling) are fantastic! They are personable. They check to see how the food is and if you need anything. They notice when your drink is empty. Unfortunately Piazza isn’t open everyday and it’s not open for lunch. When the food arrive at your table from Piazza it was steaming hot. The food from Hemingway’s or Nemo (another on site restaurant) was warm.

Now the reason for my title. The bed pillows at this resort are the worse I have ever encountered anywhere! I have travel to 6 continents and these are the hardest “pillows”. I eventually used a beach towel and my travel pillow, both which were softer.

After staying at The Royal Sea Aqurium Resort (See my review) it was finaly time to stay at Lions Dive Beach Resort. We stayed here for 10 days a enjoyed our stay. The staff was really nice and helpful. We even got our room 5 hours before we was suppose to.
The Room:
A nice at beautiful room (Run of the house). I guess we were lucky to have an little extra privat balcony from our room. Other rooms just had 2 chairs in the front, this was like a hallway terrace, without separation from the other rooms. Not a lot of people used this, but we did.
We had 2 queen size beds witch i thought was a little small, but we managed.
Cleaning every day and capsels for coffee was given to us every day. There was also tea.
When the hotel area stops, Mambo boulevard starts. So if your room is close by there would be a lot of noise in the evening. But as our room was in the main boulding above the reception the only noise er had was from the birds and motorcycles on the street, but nothing that bothered us.
You can drink the water from the tab without worry.

The Hotel:
There is an ice machines in the hotel witch is very nice. Ther are a few nice restautants at the hotel. we do not think it is more expensive than the ones on Mambo boulevard. So we reccomend trying the different restaurants.
We didn't stay at the pool areas, but it looked really nice. We spend the most of the time at the beach witch was really beautiful and perfect for snorkeling.
On some days the different bars have happy hour but its ony on selectet items.
The hotel has a dive center Ocean Encounters, they were helpfull and i has some great dives.

Surroundings:
You can take the free bus to the supermarked, but if you dont want to wait for the daily bus or just missed it, there is a local supermarked 30 min walk from the hotel called Boulevard supermarked. We used this marked because a little walk is good for the health :-)
We walked to Willemstad, it about 1 hour walk. You can also take the local bus for a few USD. A taxi is USD 20 each way.

If we had to choose from LionsDive Beach Resort Vs. The Royal Sea Aqua Resort (witch was more or less the same price) Personally we prefer LionsDive even thougt there is more noise and no kitchenette. But there is more life and the beach is fantastic.
But if you want a quiet place with a kitchenette and the beach is not that important The Royal Sea Aqua Resort is the place to stay. I would recommend to get a room faving the pool, here you have the best view both pool and ocean.

Just wrapped up 12 days at this wonderful resort. Lions Dive Resort is one of the best managed resorts we have stayed. The beaches are clean, well kept with plenty of chairs right on the water. The on-site dive shop is also excellent with great dive masters. Throughout the day, it is also one of the quietest resorts we have stayed, personal speakers are discouraged on the beach. The one and not somewhat insignificant downside to Lions Dive Resort is their neighboring property. The daytime peace and tranquility is seriously affected in the evening by the beachside bar and open-air concert venue, right next door and on the water. Most places we have stayed limit loud music to 11:00 pm or even 1:00 am. However, the adjacent property has a bar and the music will typically go to 2:00 am but on the Friday, a rave literally went to 4:00 am shaking the windows with the deep bass. Management is very sympathetic but only can do so much when the disturbance is not on their property. It is bewildering that such a venue is allowed to continue to disrupt the evenings of the neighboring properties. My advice to fellow travellers is if you are on the western third of the property, ear plugs are of little use but use a good quality portable speaker with a sleep app to at least help try and mask the deep bass penetrating your suite. Perhaps with more complaints, noise restrictions could hopefully be put in place for the late evening hours.

I had a business conference at the Santa Barbara Resort. I looked at in on Google Maps and decided it was in the middle of nowhere, and it looked like it had a fake beach (which it does after visiting it). So I looked around for a place to stay that was more connected to Curacao. Based on the reviews on TA, I selected the Lions Dive.

Firstly, if you are Dutch, you will be completely at home at this hotel. If you are not, I suspect you will find it hard going. The rooms are spartan. And, I requested a king room, but did not receive it. Most rooms are double queens. A complete waste of space. The place has a breakfast buffet at Hemingways. It is appalling by US standards. I have never seen such unappetizing scrambled eggs.

The Dutch seem to be world champion door slammers, and don't seem to control their children early in the morning so you need earplugs.

The rooms have Dutch 220V style plugs. The front desk does provide adapters, but these do not take the voltage down to 120V. I didn't fry my laptop, but I did get a buzz when I touched the case.

Apparently, the Dutch don't use washcloths as all you get is a hand towel and bath towel in your room.

Now having had my say about the amenities, can I say anything positive about this place. Yes, location, location, & location. I liked Mambo beach and the swimming. Would I stay here again, no way. But, I would try to figure out how to stay on Mambo beach.

We booked this hotel for a holiday vacation and unfortunately no one informed us that the hotel would be having a beach party on NYE that would last until 3am. We actually went to the party for a couple of hours and had a good time. However, for the party/loud music last until 3am is absurd and disrespectful to your guest. To drop $5K and have to listen to this bull@$?!

I would not recommend this place to anyone with management’s total disregard for the patrons that are paying good $$$ to stay here. Total disappointment and they should refund/credit everyone who stayed here on 12/31.

Our group from Canada enjoyed diving here at Lions. The accommodations were very nice - clean spacious rooms and beautiful grounds. The resort is close to the beach walk which has many shops and restaurants. The resort itself has nice bars and restaurants which I only went to once as we were a large group of divers and dinner was normally late and on the beach. I would definitely come and stay here again to dive. The lap pool is terrific! I’ve never seen this at any resort I’ve stayed at. The buffet breakfast offered each morning in the beach is spectacular.

We loved the separate duvets on the bed so much that when we arrived home we bought two duvets to recreate the comfy sleeps we had at Lions Dive.

I’d also like to note that this resort appears very handi accessible for people with mobility considerations.

Directly on the beautiful beach of Curaçao. Nice clean rooms with airco. The hotel offers 4 restaurants where you can eat, however only way to get a table is to reserve several days ahead of time, especially Nemo and Hemingway, it is always full so not great to offer these facilities and yet limited availability. I asked if this was due to Corona but apparently this was not the case, quite disappointing. If you want to secure a spot on the beach with lounge beds and parasol be prepared to lay your towel down around 6:30 am!! Such a shame as some guests don’t arrive at their ‘taken’ beds until after a few hours, hotel personnel should take more control of this.

Hello, we rented a car so we didn't do the all inclusive with meals. There are a lot of very good restaurants on the island. We did eat a lunch and dinner at the outside restaurant on the grounds which was delicious and the drinks were very good. There is a very close beach mall that has stores and restaurants. It is a very easy short walk to get there. I would recommend renting a car and driving around the island. I don't remember the beach cabana rooms. I hope this helps enjoy your vacation.
