A perfectly located hostel / hostel in the colourful Pietermaai district. This awesome hostel brand is bringing super high quality dorms & privates at reasonable prices.
They offers bike & car rentals giving you the option to explore the island in full.

Rooms are spacious & bright, the showers are amazing & with Netflix in every room it’s great for those the rest days. I will definitely be returning soon.

Why would anyone consider staying in a pricey hotel when you can stay at the Bed & Bike. It is a very clean hostel and the people who work here are so incredibly efficient and thorough. You feel right at home from the get go. Felix is someone who I worked with quite a bit and he is so chill, friendly, and on the ball. I'll be back with friends!

I had a very positive experience staying at B&B.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Particularly a girl called Sarai (no doubt spelt wrong).

My private room was basic but did the job. More shelving or furniture to place clothes (or whatever) on would have been good. The display on the a/c unit was pretty annoying, as it lit up the whole room. Pro tip: Always have some kind of black tape (gaffa etc) with you to cover up annoying lights in hotel rooms.

Location is good. Quite central and close to everything of interest in Willemstad. There was a basic kitchen and nice common area. Very conducive to meeting other travellers. Hostel type accommodation is otherwise very thin on the ground in the Caribbean.

I would suggest that the pictures on booking sites make it look fancier that it actually is, just so that you're aware.

Were I to return to Curacao, I would definitely consider staying here again. Though I would absolutely not go on holiday and just visit Curacao. It's a nice enough island but not somewhere you'd want to spend more than a few days.

The hostel was in a great location, close to amenities, tourist sights and restaurants. It was clean and the staff and guests were very friendly. The kitchens were not well equipped and there were not enough bathrooms for the number of guests. They ran out of toilet paper and paper towels a few times.

We had a lovely stay here. Our room for 2 persons was very small but very clean and Netflix on tv was realy fun! We rented a bike for 2 days and that was the maximum. Curaçao is not realy an ideal bicycle island but the ladies at the desk gave us great advice about were to go and where it is safe to ride. Especially Marla was an amazing help. She realy dug into our questions and made sure we found the best deals (boat trip, car rental...). We want to give her a special thanks for all her optimism and help!

Since I now hold the record as the longest-staying guest in the history of Bed & Bike, I’m well-qualified to review this unique accommodation. I took refuge there when Hurricane Maria forced me out of my home in Puerto Rico -- and I stayed for five weeks.

Bed & Bike calls itself a hybrid between a hostel and a hotel, and that’s exactly what it is. I myself had a private room (#205) with a balcony and an en suite bathroom. Other rooms, though, are traditional hostel-style dorm rooms with shared baths.

Bed & Bike has an upstairs common area that consists of a tall table with eight stools and an outside deck with a wooden bench, a small café table, two chairs, and a chaise lounge. The tall table was ideal for me to set up my two laptops and charge my phone. There are plenty of electrical outlets there of both American and European style. The WiFi is fast and stable and there is free Roku TV in the rooms. Though the common areas are not air-conditioned (because they are generally open to the outside), the bedrooms are and they keep them pleasantly cool. There is maid service almost every day; it was wonderful to return to my room and find the bed made, the used towels replaced, and the floors cleaned.

The shared bathrooms are spotlessly clean and have private cubicles for showers and toilets. Showers in both the en suite bathrooms and the common bathrooms have liquid soap dispensers.

There are also small common areas on both floors and a small lobby with a two upholstered chairs and a padded bench. There are books in both Dutch and English for lending, as well as a supply of board games.

There is a nice kitchen area where guests can store and prepare their own food. Bed & Bike itself doesn’t have a bar or café, but it is attached to the Mijn Broodje café, a Dutch/Surinamese place which is accessible through interior hallways of Bed & Bike. Mijn Broodje opens at 7:00 on weekdays for breakfast and has good food and a full bar.

The premises are impeccably clean and – since they are only a few months old – in excellent repair. My bedroom and bathroom were thoroughly cleaned every day. A lot of thought (and money) clearly went into the design of the place. Colors blend together harmoniously. The floors have pleasing insets of tiles, each tile different from the others but all drawn from the same palate. Even the sidewalk in front of the building is built of rich-looking polished stone. The whole aesthetic is restful but fun, spare but not cold, polished but not stuffy.

The building itself is located in the trendy Pietermaai district, an area of Willemstad that just a few years ago was a decaying slum but is now filled with excellent restaurants, new offices, and elegantly-restored Dutch colonial architecture. Bed & Bike is located in what used to be offices of the Curacao parliament. I myself had the room that used to be the prime minister’s office.

All guests at Bed & Bike are given free use of the many Dutch-style bicycles that are kept in the bike corral. These are available in men’s and women’s configurations and are comfortable and reliable. Though the hotel itself is not on a beach, the bikes make getting to one of the nearby beaches easy and fun. Bed & Bike also rents a car (an old but peppy Volkswagen Fox) to guests for an additional charge.

The managers, Marla and Carlo, and their assistant, Nikki, are easygoing and always available to chat or to give advice and assistance.

I got a weekly rate of about $400 US for my stay there in a private room with a private bath. Shared rooms go for considerably less. By any measure, this is an amazing bargain for wonderful accommodations.

I found a 5-star hostel ;). It´s modern and well-decorated hostel. Comfortable bed and new furniture. Loved the lively and colorful walls. I recommend the standard room with shared bathroom if you want privacy and also feel free air conditioner. The staff was very kind and helpful. In my case, I will stay here again. One thing needs to be perfect is the swimming pool and another social area to meet people;).

I stayed at the doble room with private bathroom number 210 which located next to the terrace. I was there one out 3 night. On the terrace, there are no rules about using and not making noise after certain hours of the night. I can not sleep very well that night, because the window is not anti-noise and some guys stayed until late at night talking loudly, drinking beer and smoking.

It´s easy to get to the hostel by bus, takes less than one hour and it costs USD 1 one way. Also recommend rent a car for USD 40 and deposit for 400 USD in cash or credit car (returning the deposit some day workings day later) which it´s seem to me high. Also you can use the bycicle for free making a deposit for 100 USD. Don´t be afraid of renting a car and doing a excursion on your own, driving was perfect on the Curazao contryside.

I recommend to the hostel organized activities like going to Mambo Beach by bycicle and people join in order to integrated the people.

The restaurant ONE which it´s located into the hostel offer food a reasonable price and good quality compare to the others in the area. The staff are very friendly and patient. Don´t forget to eat desert ... it´s the best desert that I´ve ever eaten in life. Let´s try it one.

Thank you for writing this review! We appreciate this at all times to improve our hotel and our services! We are flattered to hear our staff could help you with several questions and plannings and that we met your expectations. We tried to create the common areas such as in the kitchenettes and the outside balcony. We also find it very unfortunate that we don't have more space to create common areas nor a pool! Next to that we are sorry for the inconvenience about the noise at night! We explain to our guests to be quiet after 10.30 PM when the terrace closes. Unfortunately not all guests follow this rule..Our night care taker could inform these quests if he is aware. So the only option is to go down and ring the bell in this case or inform the guests yourself. The $400 of the car rental is a security deposit, which we would need as a deductible if the car would have any new damage or gets stolen. We cannot lower this because of the risk on the island in traffic. We hope you can understand this. We are glad to hear you enjoyed Uno so much and their lovely desserts! We also love how they have new and cute cakes every day. If you ever find yourself back on the island, we hope to welcome you again in Bed & Bike! Kindest regards, Team Bed & Bike

Myself and by husband stayed at bed and bike curacao for 11 nights Jan 2018. We stayed in a private room with bathroom. (We are both very well travelled, 30+ countries each)

LOCATION: Bed and Bike Curacao is by far the best place to stay in Curacao. The location is perfect! Head to St. Tropez for a pool day (literally a 2 minute walk), or jump on a bus for $2 USD and head to Mambo beach! Many nice restaurants in the area (Pietermaii). Walking distance to Wilemstad city center. Also, they provide FREE bikes for use during your stay! We also rented the bed and bike rental car which was very affordable, and cruised all over the island. We were able to visit/explore 20+ beaches! We felt very safe at all times, there is a security guard on patrol over night.

FACILITIES: Simple kitchen available for use on both floors (microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, and plates/cups etc). We bought groceries for breakfasts, snacks, and alcohol during our stay, this was definitely a money saver! The hotel is also attached to a cafe, which was really handy. Many days we would buy sandwiches to go, ad pack them for the beach as the beach restaurants were more expensive. VERY clean, bright and modern. The air conditioning was amazing. Books for guests to borrow-which came in handy as Air Canada lost our luggage for 11 days. It had very strong reliable internet, and the TV had netflix built right in, not that we used it much.

STAFF: We cannot say enough about the staff, especially Marla and Nicky. Air Canada lost our luggage and they went above and beyond for us. They dealt with Air Canada more than we did! All staff members were very helpful and also willing to help. They have deals on day packages, we did the day trip to Klien island and the girls set it all up for us. They are very well connected in the community so they can help with anything you need. (An example was when the rental car was already booked on a day we wanted it, Nicky called and organized a really cool old jeep rental for us, which was super cheap- $35 USD per day!). I also suggest booking air port transport through Bed and Bike, its $35 USD, where a regular taxi is a standard $50 USD

All in all, this place exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend for everyone- families, couples, friend trips and back packers. Appropriate for all ages.

Thanks again!

I always appreciate reading reviews like this when I'm personally searching for hotels/restaurants so I'm really happy you did this as I'm sure you'll be able to answer many other potential guests' questions about our place and surroundings! It was a pleasure have you both stay with us. I commend you on staying positive throughout your stay despite not having your luggage and belongings the entire time!
