I have been home for a week now back to a very cold wales. Having time to reflect on the absolutely amazing fantastic holiday we had in Curaçao. The hotel was absolutely spot on and there are no words to explain how lovely the atmosphere and staff were at this amazing hotel. From the manager to the door men and everyone in between. From checking in with Michaelangelo who was the most helpful check in person I have ever met. To the waiters and waitresses dining room staff room maids chefs including Ruth , Angela, Saheerah,Tasha in the main building to name just a few. To Meri Day in the Five a clock Bar who was the best bartender in the world. The infinity pool was a masterpiece of beauty and chill factor where Adi my partner spent many hours topping her tan and listening to live music at sunset. The cruise liners pulled up alongside the hotel for a reason. The shopping centre and old fort attached to the hotel were among the best shopping outlets on the island and a short walk from downtown Punda across the floating bridge. The small but elegant boutiques were a shopping haven. The manager we had the pleasure of meeting on a number of occasions name was Herbert Castillo what a switched on motivated character Herbert was always busy but stopped at nothing to make sure our holiday was the BEST EVER well let me tell you something he alongside all of the staff at renaissance wind creek Curaçao succeeded in fact went beyond the call of duty. So in the local tounge of Papiamento Masha Danki your hotel and island is HOPI DUSHI. We will definitely be returning sooner rather than later and you should all be very proud of your fantastic hospitality once again Masha Danki. Yours Truly Gareth Williams the man who can speak the beautiful language of Papiamento.…
Just returned from a week at the Renaissance, Curaçao with three of our young adult children. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool area was beautiful, relaxing and lots of shade available. It was fun to watch the big boats pass by. We also rented a car to go beach hopping & snorkeling. This hotel is walking distance to town which made it convenient to go to shops, museums and restaurants.
very kind people! they are always taking care of there costumers. The hotel is in the city center of curacao near to al the shopping area and also best restaurants are in the area. The food it self in the hotel is really good .... the beach of the hotel is pefect. and great people are working in the hotel.
Goed hotel, prima centraal gelegen, vlak bij Mall Rif Fort, view op aankomende en vertrekkende cruise schepen. Infinity pool is super. Doorman Alexis, he is really the man! Zahyra from the early breakfast shift, she should be promoted to manager restaurant.
You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at this hotel. Everything about this hotel is beautiful and I could not ask for more. The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived. Alexis at the door and Mr. Piet at the bar, the people at the check in desk, the hostesses at the main restaurant near the lobby were all friendly and went out of their way for us. They have a Starbucks inside the building. The ocean view from our room was amazing. The room had a typical beach feel to it. It was the little things that meant so much. They had robes, slippers, mouthwash, and a sewing kit. They cleaned the room every morning and returned for turn down service. The infinity pools and man-made beach next to the ocean were amazing. That area was never crowded so it was easy to get chairs and I did not see the need to go to a beach. I loved that we were able to walk to nearby shops and restaurants and experience the culture instead of just staying at the resort. I don't think the all-inclusive is worth it because they have so many other dining options nearby. We had some meals on the property and had others off property. We even had Subway one day for lunch. We did not rent a car. Staying in the Rif Fort area was enough adventure for us. We even went to a museum. The next time we visit Curacao, we will stay at Renaissance Windreek but we will rent a car to see more of the island. Taxis are really expensive, $30 to $35 per ride.…
The setting is perfect. The beach is exactly as featured in the photographs, right on the entrance to the Cut in Willemstad. It is surprisingly long...a few lengths are quite a work out. It was uncrowded when I visited and relaxing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Where this place lets itself down is the catering. The bar was screening American kick boxing, which is not very appropriate in such a venue. The music was very loud all the time. You had to keep asking the bar tender for a drink, the service was not very forthcoming. The buffet menu was OK, breakfast not bad, but the evening a la carte meal very expensive and disappointing. I ordered a glass of wine which arrived half way through my steak, which was tough and fatty. The ambience in the dining room, well there wasn't any. It was clinical and austere. This hotel has the potential to be one of the best on the island, but it clearly caters more for business visitors and is not a resort complex as such. Stay here by all means, but take your evening meal elsewhere.…
This is a three star resort masquerading as a five star resort, just be prepared for that level and you will be okay. You simply don't feel very well taken care of here by the staff or feel like anything is luxurious. The fake beach is great but the service is very slow, might get one drink from a server a whole afternoon. The hotel has one restaurant and there is a line to be seated in the morning for a buffet breakfast. The best thing it has going for it is its location in the center of the town
Traveled solo. If your like me and do not like to spend the trip in the hotel at the pool, but like to indulge in everything the country/island had to offer, then this is the hotel to be at. Perfect location. Walking distance to the Punda ( their downtown ) a beautiful little city very walkable with the dutch European vibes u can think off. Hotel located in otraband area which is across the gorgeous Queen Emma bridge. Hotel is very clean, rooms are well kept. Clean sheet and towels. Service is impeccable. Nani at the reception was fabulous but all the staff was also 10/10. They arranged a private taxi for me took me around 9 different beaches and the whole island in 2 days ( 6-8 hrs each depending how long u wna spend at each beach ). Kokomo beach wins for me. Curacao delivered everything and more for me.…
The pictures of this hotel are very deceiving. The ‘beach’ is a fake beach on the second floor of the hotel with a pool that has a sand bottom and is the only pool at the hotel. And no one cleans the pool area (empty cups, etc sit all day, and several times they didn’t have any clean towels). The only way to access the pool is to go to lobby elevators to 2nd floor and walk down a long hallway of hotel rooms. If you’re at the “spa” which is next door, you have to walk a very long way around the property back to the hotel lobby and through second floor rooms. Even though there is a more convenient entrance, they keep it locked. There are also large cruise ship(s) outside the hotel every day until 9pm which block most of the view of the water. While most of the staff was friendly, they are not very accommodating. On New Year’s Eve we purchased several bottles of wine and were told by the bartender we could sit outside. We went outside and were told those tables were reserved for the 5 O’clock bar - even though it was after 11pm and NO ONE was sitting there. So we were stuck with several bottles of wine and just took them to one of our rooms (which looked out on the 5 o’clock bar which also had many tables empty). And after being told a friends breakfast would be free for her birthday, they then said (after eating breakfast) that it wouldn’t be free because it was a holiday. Even though it was the exact same breakfast as every day. We also had a very annoying noise in our room and they said they’d get back to us about it. After 4 days they finally told us that they couldn’t fix it and we could move rooms (they day before we were leaving). Oh, and there were about 10 dirty wine glasses in the hallway by our room for days (and we’re still there when we left). Lastly, while the food wasn’t terrible, don’t expect any really good food.…
Did the all inclusive and our friends did not. They were charged $75 for a so so lunch buffet with basically no service. Rooms were very nice and bed comfy. Housekeeping is hit or miss and I guess they do not believe in wash clothes. We asked for some 2 nd day and none since that time. Also it was hit or miss if house keeping restocked our fridge. We did enjoy the man made salt water beach pool. New Year’s Eve celebration was poor…nothing to do. They have all these ball rooms but chose 5 o’clock Somewhere restaurant for the party that did not start till 10 and then had nothing to do but stand around. Kinda disappointed:( Majority of staff are very nice. For an upscale resort, they need to offer more activities then just beach pool.
