The Don Genaro apartments are situated in the rural north-western part of the island and very close to all the beautiful natural beaches and snorkle- and divespots of Curacao. On a 6,000sqm complex there are apartments and holiday homes, most of which function on solar energy. All bedrooms have allergie neutral mattresses and all windows have mosquito screens. The bathrooms are all spacious and have a modern european standard. The speciality of the Don Genaro apartments are the outdoor kitchens, located on a roofed private terrace with breakfast bar and dining area. Perfect for a cool tropical evening at ´home´. The apartments are equipped with 220 V and free wifi. Don Genaro is set in a big, luscious tropical garden, with many tropical plants and trees, visited by beautiful (song)birds. In the lower part of the garden is a 10 x 5 m chlorine- and chemical free swimming pool with hardwood sundeck, and in a quiet area there is also a smaller relax pool.

We are a couple from the USA who are in our 70s and recently returned from a 3 month stay at Don Genaro. Our indoor/outdoor accommodations at Apartment L and Tiki Balu are clean, well maintained, and reflect the host’s creative and eclectic sensibilities. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The kitchens met all of our cooking needs. The surrounding gardens are strikingly beautiful and the pools are perfectly maintained. The staff is friendly, kind, and ever informative. In addition to spending quiet days relaxing at “home”, we spent much of our time snorkeling and sunbathing at some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. Also, we were able to rediscover our love of scuba diving with the on site dive master, Marcel and enjoyed a paddle board lesson, and ATV trip. Elke and Susanne work hard to ensure that guests are guided to the best restaurants and most appropriate, fun activities. Christopher is always around to solve any problem that might arise. You’ll need a car, and Don Genaro steps up to the plate in that regard as well. Don Genaro checks all the boxes from affordability, to cleanliness, to hospitality, and to reliability. Have been there in 2013, was a great place to be. Car is necessary but they provided one. You can get to several beaches, Willemstad and to the supermarket quickly by car. Owner are very helpfull and get you from/to the airport. I would go there again.

Elke and Christopher are the friendly and helpful owners, excellent accommodation, aesthetic furniture and a beautiful tropical garden. Always a pleasure to stay there, now the third time since 2010. We will come again soon.
