I am a backpacker who lives in hostels so am used to pretty bad standards, but I would say that this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in and expected more for the money I paid. The pool area and food I have to say was good, no complaints there, the staff were also very friendly and... More

I am a budget traveller. This is below a budget hotel. Really though this place has no life to it. 90% of the guests are seniors, thankfully my stay was a short one. Probably the worst service ever from the front desk staff. The food left you with that bad feeling in your belly, like why did I just eat... More

My sister and I booked 2 weeks in this hotel from December 23 to January 6. $1200. Our expectations were low from reading previous reviews. Most of them true. We brought enough money to eat out every day. Since the resort is downtown we knew that reasonably priced delicious food was only steps away. We had been to Cuba a... More

First off, you people who are complaining about minor, insignificant things like mosquitoes and your room, please snap back to reality; you're paying about $500 for an all-inclusive 1 WEEK vacation package — super affordable, so don't expect to get that pedicure you wanted. How about you guys go to Europe and spend upwards of $2500 for 2 flights, and... More

Creatures crawling in and out, mosquitoes breeding in the open drain, no hot water, cleaning service gave us fresh towels after 9 days after asking several times. Food minimal, flies-plenty. No lighting in dark stair case and hallway. Furniture on sundeck dirty, garbage in pool, no seat on toilet in Lobby.

Travelled there on december 30th, got a deal so good (699$) for a week, which was 40$ cheaper than buying just the plane ticket! At that price I figured I had nothing to lose. Very friendly staff, good location and decent basic food. The buffet area is a little small so expect to wait a while for a table. There... More

You Get What You Pay For & A Whole Lot More I don’t believe some of the negative reviews I have seen for Hotel Mar Del Sur! In the summer months…yes, it does tend to become a “Cuban” hotel because it is so hot in Cuba that tourist visits drop off and Cubans take their holidays!! Most of the hotels... More

Unless you are prepared to be camping do not go to this resort. It is not all what is advertised. I would have done better camping out on the beach than staying in this hotel. The hotel staff were not helpful. Basically you are told to deal with it and suck it up. There was no service. Although they did... More

I see a Canadian travel company continues to advertise this hotel as suitable for families, newlyweds, etc. Some of these rooms are just plain unsafe for young children - the balconies specifically. The food is grim, even by Cuban standards. The lack of beer and liquor choices are inadequate and not always available. No beer after 10 pm anywhere on... More

We satyed there oly one night and had a threee bed room. What we get was two, two- bed room. In one of the you couldn't stay, because of melt and humidity. The sockets came out of the wall and whyever also a puddle. The drinks you get there was only worse liquor. The "food" in the restaurant I won't... More
