First room (#208) I was put in was the worst room I have ever been in... very run down; no safe; no towels; no towel bars; only one hanger for my clothes; couldn't close the window in the bathroom so gnats and mosquitoes found their way in; pillows were so grossly stained; mini fridge was constantly leaking; the door barely locked. Asked to be changed room and kept being told "tomorrow". Finally on Tuesday, I insisted on the change and moved to room #115... more spacious but still no safe (even though I had been told there was, it didn't work); door handle was coming off the door and I had to insist on having it serviced; pillows still grossly stained but insisted on new and was given some sort of cushions; the room was barely cleaned, for example, the mirror still had writings on it from previous guests. No beach towel available to me all week (probably had a limited number as I did see some guests with towels)! The hotel did not serve wines (except for Thursday and had run out of red by Friday), and barely any booze or mixes; it was only on Wednesday that they finally got vodka, and on the Thursday that they got cola (for rum and coke for example). They also ran out of glasses (glass as well as plastic) and guests were asked to keep their plastic glasses to reuse. The staff was cutting the top off of plastic bottles (water, for example) and they used that as glasses for their guests. On the upside, the cleaning lady for room 115 was a kind and pleasant person (though my room was not cleaned for the rest of my stay – one day was at my request to not clean). Also, the lady tending the coffee bar is a very nice and pleasant person. I have no complaints on the food as I have celiac disease so I’m happy as long as there are fruit and vegetables available! I absolutely felt that this hotel’s priority is not its out of country guests! This hotel has a lot of potential, but it is so poorly run/maintained; the staff could use training in regards to cleaning the rooms, for example.…
This was my 3rd time at Los Delfines, and I found the hotel emptier than usual, with a lot of Cuban tourists sprinkled amongst the primarily Canadian clientele. No Russians to be seen. I was given a room in the same building as the lobby (room 235) and it was wonderful. There was a TV with plenty of English channels, AC, mini fridge, and a great view from the balcony. Meals are spartan but I am not a "foodie" so they were just fine with me. I never waited in line for an omelet or grilled meat. Drinks were plentiful and on tap. The beach continues to be amazing. The entertainment was great. Staff are LOVELY. The weather was divine for the entire week (it rained once at night). Did I say week, I meant to say 8 days because my Sunwing flight back to Canada was cancelled and I got an extra day at no extra charge. I was not complaining. In fact, if anyone reading this is looking for complaints, you wont get them here. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with gourmet meals then go somewhere other than Cuba. Such first world problems we have as we sit on the beach and lament the miseries of live. The bar ran out of milk on the last 2 days so no capuccino. Big deal. This is a country dealing with severe shortages and covid has decimated their economy. Just be thankful to be out of the snow and cold. Next time I will pack some of the small packages of coffee whitener that I have in copious amounts. Note to self. Otherwise, I have nothing negative to say and am actually contemplating going back in 2 weeks. Why not? WONDERFUL resort and stay. Gracias Cuba.…
I plan on returning Everyone’s expectations are different I’ve been to Cuba 11 times I’ve also been to 6 other Caribbean destinations Multiple times Cuba is still my favourite Always read all the reviews sometimes people expect the world If you like rock don’t forget to visit the Beatles Bar
Works hotel i have been to everything about hotel is bad. Staff food no music after 11 dirty empty hotel. Would not recommend to anyone. No snack bar as there stayed there was only 1 bar . Horrible. The only good thing that was good is close to everything. Go to little better hotels. They have this hotel as 3.5 starts I would give 1 star i was in hotels that are 2 stars better then this .
Had a great stay. All Staff were friendly and customer service was excellent. Security was ever present. The room was well equipped deck, flat screen, fridge, cold quite a/c, hot water showers and bidet. The food was ok, we new what to expect. If you like hot sauce, maple syrup, ketchup, mustard, relish or peanut butter...bring your own lol Lots of locals at hotel which was ok by us. Restaurant tip is get there first when open for meals or 30 minutes before close at meals to avoid the crowd. We usually went to local restaurants for dinner. Our favorite was La Vicaria right next door. Biggest lobster tail for 650 pesos. Wife said best Pina colota on island. Stay away from bank if want to exchange money. Better exchange on street. 1can =100 pesos 1us=140. Always someone around Central Park market in morning. The best shopping was smaller outdoor market by Central Park. The big open market around 15 Calle was more expensive, vendors all in agreement on prices & didn't want to negotiate. The absolute best deal I got was in hotel tbh. Vendors set up daily and easy to negotiate without hard sell. I would stay away from horse drawn carriage rides, they want 10$ us (1500 pesos) for any trip regardless if 1 block or 60 blocks. Price is locked. You will also smell like horse for the rest of the day. Overall a great stay at hotel and I would definitely recommend. Canadians bring a bunch of u.s 1$ for tips. They don't like loonies, toonies. Don't be cheap with tipping, you'll be surprised at what a dollar here or there will get you for service. Tip. Bring your own beach towels. little store by coffee bar sells 1.5L & 5L water. Don't drink tap water at all, not even for brushing. Tummy troubles on day 2 (my fault) p.s. pharmacy at Central Park store lol Will be back, great hotel.…
I never visited a 3* hotel in cuba before it was my first time. Usually always 4-5*. What i liked: My room was clean. Hotel On the beach Downtown so everything is close Beatifull beach Maids were efficient What i didnt like: Locals were at the hotel too and they hate and drank everything. No beer after 2 days of my stay. Almost no softdrinks. No deserts. Same food everyday.. same food every day. No variations Limited food (cause of shortage) No water to drink in the rooms. Bank changed your money for 1/4 of the real value. Had to go on the streets to get better exchange rates. Hair dryer blew up while she was using it.
Los Delfines is a small resort located in central Varadero on a beautiful beach. Everything is easily accessible with no need to walk miles to get to your room, bar, pool, or buffet. The rooms are clean. Towels might be an issue for some people. If you like big fluffy towels, then your best to bring your own. The beds have been replaced with new mattresses and I find them very comfortable. The pillows are very flat, which I prefer. If you need big fat pillows, then bring one. There is a blow dryer and no need for a converter for the outlets. The hotel has 110 ampage available. I have never had an issue with not having hot water in the shower. If you want quiet earlier in the evening, then request that your room is not above the lobby bar as it has entertainment until 11 p.m. The buffet always has a wide assortment of food available. How many choices do you have when you're at home for a meal? You will always find something you like and remember the price you paid to stay at this resort. It is, for the most part, Cuban food, and is very delicious. There is always something that you will like. There is pasta every day. Their bread is amazing. There is a small a la carte restaurant that serves an absolutely delicious dinner. Nelson and Gustavo are great hosts. As this hotel is centrally located in town, there are many restaurants in walking distance. The restaurants serve delicious food and are very inexpensive. So, there are many options for dining. The staff are why I keep coming back to this hotel over and over again. They are the epitome of this hotel. They are friendly and will do anything to assist you with your needs. They work very long hours and still manage to always have a smile on their faces. I treat them with the utmost respect and they treat me the same. Club Los Delfines is a place where you will meet people that return year after year. We now have friends from going to this resort and look forward to meeting up with them there every year. Club Los Delfines is my second home. I visit it at least twice/year. If you are looking for a place to rest and love being on the beach, this is the place to be!!!…
I stayed here with some friends a couple of weeks ago and have never had such a welcoming, enjoyable experience at a resort. From the very first day, the entire staff was so helpful and friendly and we had an amazing time hanging out with them. The food was great, the beach was beautiful, and the rooms were perfect. Special shout out to the entertainment team - Leyvis, Jordan (perritooooo), Marlene, DJ Alejandro, Nelys, and DJ Machin. Hanging out with them truly made our week special and they always made sure we had a good time! Thank you to the bartenders for never letting us go thirsty (Elian, Charity, Macias, and many more) and to the ladies at the coffee bar for the delicious coffee every morning. We’re already planning our next trip back to Los Delfines and we can’t wait!…

It was the fourth time I stayed at this hotel. The staff is very contagious, in all the right ways. From the check in at the front desk, to the beach personelle, this hotel understands the needs of travellers. Special thanks to Amoury, Jesus, Hector, Levy, all the security staff, and Alejandro and Jordon at animation who day after day look to adapt their activities and music.
