Loved the old Dupont family residence. Walked over here, right next to the Melia Las Americas hotel . It is located on the only 18 hole golf course in cuba. Beautiful place to sit and sip Mojitos and Caipirinhas. The drinks are excellent here. Go here for a great vibe.

Beautiful house and interior! We loved the room and balcony that looked out on the sea! Rooms were not very clean (hair and ash from cigarette on the floor. An old blood stain on the pillow sheet). Dinner was delicious (it's included in the price, except for the drinks - 4cuc for a glass of wine). Breakfast is also good....

Didn't stay at this hotel but visited for the experience and a drink in the 3rd floor bar. Well worth a visit for a couple of hours. The bar on the 3rd floor is stunning and serves a great gin & tonic. A very narrow, quirky little staircase takes you up instead of the old elevator. There was no-one else...

Absolutely amazing setting right at the seafront. Impeccable service. Best lobster i had in cuba. Good mojito. Extensive choice of wines. Very expensive for cuban standards. 140 cuc in total for two choosing the three course lobster menu with drinks and a couple of glasses of housewine. I recommend.

After travelling round Cuba for 2 weeks staying in casas prior to our trip to Xanadu, we were really excited for a bit of luxury. However I am sad to say that Xanadu did not live up to our expectations. The building itself is incredible and the views spectacular from our bedroom. Our bedroom felt like we were stepping back...

Our night at this hotel counts as one of my most memorable experiences. The rooftop bar is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, with a 360-degree view of the ocean, an exquisite art deco bar, a dashing barman, a kindly old waiter and an excellent jazz band. As we were the only guests at the bar,...

The grand estate of Irenee DuPont de Numours, built in 1929, and similar to the extravagant "summer homes" of Newport, RI. Right on the ocean, with opulent dining facilities, 18-hole golf course, and a bar/restaurant on top with spectacular views!

The former DuPont mansion perched on a rocky shoreline and surrounded by a golf curse is absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate enough to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the beach and the Caribbean. Service was attentive and friendly. Food prepared and presented by Chef Lima was world-class. People wanting to experience this level of luxury and ambiance are well...

We were staying at Barcelo and came to Mansion Xanadu just to visit. Really beautiful place, well preserved and kept. We went to the bar on top floor, relaxing breeze and Mojito profesionally served. Strongly recommended and worth its 5 CUC price. The bar is the only place in Varadero that sells cigars on regular prices, not cheating. However their...

We were staying at the Melia Varadero and this is an excellent destination to make when on a beach walk. It is an old mansion by the sea and has been done up for drinks and dinners, so a nice place to get refreshing drink if the weather is too hot. Worth a look.
