Melia Las Antillas garners praise for its pristine beachfront location and vibrant atmosphere, with many guests enjoying the lively entertainment and friendly vibe. While the hotel's cleanliness and warm hospitality are often highlighted, some travelers note the need for room renovations and express mixed opinions on the value, citing dated facilities and inconsistent food quality. Despite these concerns, the central location and dedicated staff continue to draw visitors.

Wonderful experience - the upgrade to the vip and ocean view was definitely worth it. The food was delicious - lots of variety and loved the beach barbecue. Special shout out to the kind staff who went beyond our expectations to keep us comfortable after a incident with another guest at the hotel.. The jeep tour was amazing and loved the Saturno caves. As always, the people of Cuba and their warm smiles and hospitality will have us coming back again. Thank you Melia ! Only disappointment was no Rum some days so pina colada with Spanish whiskey not the same.

Just returned from our early April trip! Overall would stay at this resort again. Rooms were big & clean but outdated. Beds were comfy- a little chilly but once we found the bigger blanket it made for a better sleep. Walls are thin though so could hear our neighbour's more than we'd like. My only complaint for the room was the shower head was broken making a shower more difficult but there was always hot water. This is a big resort. Staff were friendly. Food - A bit repetitive but I always found something to eat, good variety. Supper was definitely better with more options vs breakfast. There was a omelet bar daily and bread so again, never left hungry Coffee at the lobby bar (especially the iced coffee) was DELICIOUS! The drinks were tasty, lots of variety and there was no noticeable alcohol shortages minus rum at some bars. The beach- very beautiful, there were some rocks and such but it was definitely cleaned as the sand quality improved after a day or 2. As for beach chairs, we did have to walk further some days to find, but always ended up finding some The pool- only visited it once but the water was warm and the pool was nice & big. The entertainment for me was top notch quality. The dancers and shows are incredible There are lots of activities on the resort but it takes a few days and lots of asking other people to learn, when/where/how to rent items. The hotel had a Canadian Cocktail party which we felt appreciated at and really enjoyed being welcomed and included. Lastly, my only other resort complaint would be it seems they may be under staffed as we had to wait in some long lines for bars and such, and the front desk were not the most helpful and helping us get Sunwing information and no one felt the need to mention there was a Sunwing representative there daily that could have saved us time and stress. Overall this was a good vacation, a nice resort, and although i would like to try other resorts, i would recommend and go back

We just spent an amazing week at Las Antillas. We upgraded to the 5th floor and had concierge services and Naidelys and Gretter made us feel like family and made sure we had everything our hearts desired. I would recommend the resort to everyone. Maribel at the Pool snackbar also provided the best service ever and she quickly became a friend. Raoul at the beach bar always had a smile and a drink ready for all.

Wonderful hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The balcony gives you a very good view of the ocean, huge pool and well kept grounds. The staff are always very friendly, happy and helpful. The entertainment was great every night. The concierge service VIP was great. They took care of any problems we had right away, no hassles whatsoever. This is our second time at this hotel and we recommend it to anyone looking to have a relaxing fun time.

Wow, the experience was incredible. There is a food shortage in Cuba, but we never were hungry. The food that they had was well prepared and the rooms clean. I need to say that the conceirge lounge and the service with a smile from Greter and Nadalis was so amazing. They truly wanted to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. The level of service and attention was the main reason I will return and recommend Melia Las Antillas and especially the conceirge service to my friends and family!

There are ups and downs in this resort. We did not enjoy our room that much. It was ok, but not great, mostly because it was poorly maintained. The other accommodations in the resort were clean and good. The food lacked a bit of love, yet the drinks were alright. The beach in the back of the resort is AMAZING! What made the experience unforgettable, however, was the staff. In particular, we fell in love with a hardworking, dedicated, and hilarious employee called Clemente. He remembers what you like, how you like it and makes sure you feel taken care off during your stay. To top it off, the man is a real life magician, entertaining young and old with his tricks. See you soon amigo.

We had enough knowledge from a previous trip to Cuba and other reviews to have limited expectations for this resort. Check-in was a bit slow because there was only one person at the front desk with a few couples ahead of us. The 1st room we were given was not good. Broken bathroom fixtures, broken brdside table, a lamp that did not work and a key safe with no key available. Biggest problem was the balcony view. All you could see was a black top roof with garbage and broken pieces of stucco. Front desk was gracious enough to move us to a better room, yet it bothers me that they try to pawn off this room for the same price as any other, especially because the resort was only filled to half capacity. House cleaning did a wonderful job of having our room cleaned daily. Towels were replaced daily, yet we only got two every day. Obvious shortage of toilet paper, at times barely had enough to use. Bathrooms in dire need of upgrading. Yet we always had hot water! Resort bars were okay, though expect to wait for drinks. Commonly short of employees, which is a theme not only here, but in many places in Cuba. Drinks were well prepared though. Resort buffet was barely passable. Find somethings that you can tolerate eating and stick with it. No eggs, bacon or eatable sausage. Anything with beef was tough and grisly. Didn't trust their pork because it looked like it was the same food from day before. Resort advertised 4 a la Cartes, there were just three. Could only eat at two of them because their concierge was rarely available to book. El Romantico was very good, Don Perone just so-so. Pools were clean. Ocean and beach were very nice. No problem finding chairs at either one. Resort staff were always friendly and courteous. Note: huge problem at this resort if you have mobility issues. Only one of 3 elevators worked. The small one that did function was not good. We were stuck going up and down a couple of times where the door would not open, and it would return to where you got in. Not good. We felt bad for a few people who used canes, etc. They had to use the stairs.

Melia las Antillas was a great resort for our 7-day vacation. The resort amenities were great, food was good, but the staff really made our experience stand out. A special thank you to Raul at the beach bar, Clemente at the buffet (especially at dinner when he would provide magic shows), and all the entertainment staff for making it such a fun experience. The beach was absolutely stunning – crystal clear blue water and pristine white sand. Overall, would highly recommend coming here for your next Cuban vacation!

We recently spent 3 days at this resort and here’s the rundown: Hotel Staff is amazing, checking in was quick and efficient. ROOMS: We had a beautiful room with a pool view, easy access to everything, the resort is quite big but navigating it is super easy. Rooms are dated, it’s a tired resort, needs improvements. Always had hot water towels, water bottles (small ones) but still nice…and good water pressure…bed wasn’t comfortable at all but the size of our room was nice and big. Our maid AIMA was absolutely AMAZING and always smiling, cleaned our room meticulously and she made up for the downsides of the condition. BEACH: TOP NOTCH!!! The best in Varadero, clean wide white sand …always found a hut with shade and friendly staff to help set us up. Loved it! FOOD: Ok so you’ve all heard about it by now so not worth the complaining…it’s repetitive, missing tons of stuff, stayed only 3 days so we dealt with it plus we’re not picky eaters and have no dietary restrictions, theres NO OMELETTE station which is quite disappointing and the breakfast menu was disappointing as we knew the same food would there again for lunch and again for dinner!! …the food is that of a 2-3 star hotel max…if food is an important part of your vacation and determines your happiness then don’t go anywhere in Cuba…THEY JUST CANT ACCOMMODATE PERIOD!! It’s gonna be rice, beans, pork everyday and horrible pasta. That’s just the way it is and has been for the past several years and likely won’t change anytime soon…we went in with an open mind and were happy the have stayed minimal time. However if your budget permits just go out to downtown Varadero and try to explore the restaurants🤷🏼‍♀️ BRING snacks…they don’t have anything! No chocolate, no chips not nuts. Bring your own medication, they have Nothing!!! We needed Advil or Tylenol thankfully some Canadian travellers helped us out!

PROS: -Staff members are amazing!!! -Yaday, our favorite server, was incredibly attentive and nice. -Our concierge Gretel was so nice. -The resort was very clean. -Our room was as booked, it was nice, clean and everything worked well. -No shortage of food except for the first morning/breakfast, no bread, and only one evening, no white wine, but that's it. -Plenty of food, drinks, beer, bottled water and, toilet paper. -Pool was clean and well maintained. -Towels were available, fresh and clean. -Visited Havana, that was a pleasant treat. -Beach and paradisaic waters...that's the best part!!!! Just WOW!! CONS = CLIENTS! -We were horrified to witness how, clients/vacationers were rude to staff. -If you don't speak english or spanish and expect the staff to understand you,...screaming at them won't help. -Clients leaving with 7 slices of bread on their plate (share much??) or bringing their own bluetooth speaker at the pool and playing it louder than the resort music (Like WTH??). -And cigarette smoke. Lots and lots of cigarette smoke but that's everywhere in Cuba. Suggestion for improvement ;) Front desk staff did not always greet us with a smile. Resort needs just a little bit of love and a coat of paint. Elevators need WD-40 Would definitely go back :)
