For the price you pay for this casa, the stay was very disappointing. Nobody was there to greet us when we checked in and when we searches around and finally found a staff member, she told us we couldn't check in and promptly left us. No introductions and offer to help. We had emailed the day before to say we would be arriving earlier and asked if that was a problem and we received no response. Some of the other staff members were friendlier, especially if you speak Spanish. We never met Beny at all and he is not responsive to messages and nobody answers the phone number they give to guests. The beds, pillows and sheets were the worst we slept on in all of Cuba, and we stayed in some rural areas In the country. The bedsheets were polyester and were pilling. There were ants absolutely everywhere, including the beds. The breakfast was fine, but nothing compared to the amazing breakfasts we had elsewhere in Cuba. The breakfast consisted of canned pineapples, coffee and milk, toast and eggs. The only positive was the casa’s very close proximity to the beach. This casa may have been excellent before, but the people running it seem to take for granted that they will always have tourists staying there no matter how poor the services are because of the beautiful beaches in Varadero.…
We didn't actually stay at this Casa but was speaking to someone who did & the place was highly recommended. Was sorry we didn't stay here than the near by hotel we chose instead! If we are lucky enough to come to Varadero again, this Casa will be my first choice for accommodation.
Our stay at Beny's house excellent. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and a very nice amenity. The location was superb, about 150 yards form the beach and around plenty of shops and restaurants. Beny and his wife were wonderful hosts.
I’m not sure why this casa gets such good reviews. I agree with another guy who said that Beny is not very friendly at all. The whole time I was there, I felt like an annoyance to him. Perhaps he is tired of dealing with tourists! The facilities are fine & the garden is quite nice, but it wasn’t cheap. I’m sure there are other places to stay that would be equally as good and the hosts more welcoming!
Beny's house is a great place to stay because the beds are good, rooms are clean, Beny is a friendly man, diners are great with a glass of red wine. The public beach is a 1 minute walk. There's a supermarket close by. No mosquitoes here because there's a small plane that sprays insecticide over the surroundings every morning.
