After reading all of these reviews, I was very skeptical about coming to this resort. But I couldn't have been more surprised. Checking in was a breeze, but unfortunately were travelling behind a group that couldn't speak english, so it took a bit of time....More
So, first of all, as someone said, "it is Cuba". It means, nice people, wonderful beaches, but don't go there expecting the level of service you would find in Canada or the US.
Good facilities (although poorly maintained); good entertainment every night; good beer, the...More
We had a brilliant 2 week holiday in this hotel. The rooms were nice and the hotel is right on the beach. There are two lovely swimming pools and plenty of day and night time entertainment. The staff were very friendly. The only downside was...More
We had a good clean room with a great maid, the resort itself is laid out very nicely, but that's about it. The cleanliness of the cutlery and dishes is very disappointing, the alcohol dispensers in my room were broken, many bartenders gave you horrible...More

Hi Hannah...the best way to covert GBP to CUC is at the airport. They have the best price. I highly recommend you get lots of small changes e.g.$1 cuc because the hotel always seems to run out and they charge more. You will need your passport to change your money. Depending on what you plan to do, calculate approximately how much cuc money you need. I tipped my maid $5 cuc daily and had 5 x $1 cuc to tip for outstanding services so I had just enough to last till the end of the trip. The bus ride will cost $5 cuc per person to ride to town for the whole day. You can always find bartenders/ servers/maid wanting to change foreign money to CUC. At the resort, line up 20 minutes before they open the bank because they always seem to run out of money. At the end of the trip if you have left over CUC, you can always find people who are arriving from the airport to change. I wish someone would create a spot at the lobby to connect people wanting to change money so it is more efficient to get rid of/ change CUC money. Tip: bring some ziplock bags and cheap tupperware. Before leaving from the resort, make sandwiches and take to the airport. We had a 2 hour delay and the food was OUTRAGEOUS at the airport. Have fun!!
