I have been staying at this hotel since 2011. It is conveniently located outside the town center (about 3 km) but has the advantage that you are in a quitter location away from the hustle and bustle of the town center. The hotel has a 3 star rating so do not expect five star services. Having said that, all staff...

I was with a small tour group & our original hotel could not take us one night (regardless of having a booking confirmed, the authorities can just change things at will here in Cuba) so we stayed at this establishment. It is a pretty basic hotel which I would not recommend. It is about a 15 minutes drive to the...

On the edge of Santiago, which isn't great, and very few restaurants nearby so you are reliant on taxis. The rooms are in blocks of four around a nice looking pool which sounds great but our curtains were jammed and wouldn't open; there are no opening windows, just a door, onto our balcony, and as soon as we opened it...

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel which is a few kilometers out of town. In the first room we got the shower couldn't be used because of a broken tap. We immediately got another room were only one light was working. The swimming pool was not very clean but it is possible to go swimming in the Melia...

The room was the best one I had of the three state run, budget hotels in Cuba. The breakfast buffet and a store were in a separate building. There is a pool at this hotel. It was closed for 2 days when we were there. It's a very short walk to San Juan Hill. It's a walkable 8 blocks or...

Had no choice but to stay at this hotel during a tour of Cuba. It felt you had not only stepped back in time, but changed countries - goodbye Cuba, hello Russia. The rooms were clean but basic with noisy air-con, a broken shower rail and dodgy shower. The bed had to be one of the most uncomfortable I've ever...

I have enjoyed this hotel over many years, so thought I would try it again this year. It has suffered many setbacks which is obvious, however with the current management and Customer Training specialist I do believe it will be that quaint wonderful hotel once again. The Staff are the key to this hotel and many have been there for...

I was visiting Santiago de Cuba and stayed in the hotel for two nights and it was a good experience. It is an Isla Azul Hotel mainly for Cuban travelers. The rooms are organized in chalet blocks of four and they are surrounding by nice grounds. They are spacious, and have TV, and old and noisy A/C that could be...

Sprawling hotel with some rooms in chalet blocks and other around the pool (avoid if you want peace). Rooms ok but basic with noisy a/c. Breakfast Ok. Watch out for bar staff bill con tricks including saying they gave you too much change and demanding money back.

Visiting with a Cuban family including a young infant, we occupied two rooms, 3 and 4, in the lodges buit in the grounds of the original building, The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a working colour TV and air conditioning, Staff were friendly throughout, and the pool was an added bonus. The breakfast was included in the very reasonable...
