Surprising beautiful city very educational lot to learn about the country very different from Havana large population of Africans mix Creoles very good food very good museums I would recommend people visit Santiago de Cuba it is a city that was built by the French then the Spanish came in so in-depth much beautiful architect
Pretty cheap stay near the centre of the city, with walking distance. The place is nice, but the rooms have no windows, so it is kinda a dark. The car can be park at the place, also the hot water in our block was off, we got another room where we could come to take a shower.
This is not luxury hotel but the price/value ratio is fantastic. As stated in the name, the hotel is organized in small villas. Rooms are large and comfortable with all commodities. Hotel workers are very keen. It is well situated in a very calm area, not too far from city center that you can reach with less than 30min walk. Would return for sure if needed
To be honest, I can not give this hotel higher than 3 stars. None the less, I thoroughly enjoyed my week there, and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Everyone from the receptionists to the maids to the security guards to the restaurant workers--I would give each of them 5 stars easily! I went with a dance and music tour, so I don't know the cost of the hotel. I am sure it was much less than a swanky place like the Mélia Santiago. My room, in a small separate building, was clean and very spacious. The problems with the water were not horrible. I would much rather stay at a place like this than a fancy tourist hotel. I loved the city and people of Santiago de Cuba, and am yearning to return!
I live in Jamaica and went on school trip to Cuba back in 2011. There is simply no where like Cuba. The people are the kindest you'll ever meet in life. They walk around at any time of the day because there's relatively no crime. they have parties everyday after a certain time. They really just know how to have a good time! Food: is an acquired taste. They don't use preservatives so everything is fresh. They grill everything using only salt and pepper. Their pizzas are TO DIE FOR Hotel Gaviota: I really enjoyed this place. Its no five star hotel on Miami Beach but it is pretty clean and comfortable. Its very cultured. They have a pool an restaurant. Its not too far from te town so when we didnt want the food we walked out to the town. The island is beautiful.. Cuba is always a good idea!!…
