A must for everyone with a sense of humour & the sheer decadence/opulence of the hotel itself. We only stayed one night & that was enough. However, don't let me put you off, it is a pure gem. Our coach could not get down the narrow street within 500 yards, but it was worth the walk ! We had porterage...

This hotel was nice BUT you have to walk about a block with/without you handling the bags because it is on a walking only street. The area for breakfast is in a very nice garden area. The room we had was up a back stairway and nothing special. It was good for one night.

Stayed here just 1 night on a Saga tour. The hotel is on a main pedestrianised street in the town, stepping into the lobby is walking into another world lovely seating areas, bar, courtyard and terrace were such a contrast to the outside. Going up the grand staircase to our room the corridor looked like a prison with large heavy...

The hotel is located in a street in the centre of town and this gives you a wonderful opportunity to experience Cuban life which is impossible in larger hotels and resorts. Rooms can be small (although ours was not) and they can be noisy if overlooking the street, but this all added to the charm for us. You can dine...

I wasn't expecting much, given the off street location and reading previous reviews. You check in & enter the 1950s, the lobby & bar are just as they were then and sadly the rooms are too. We had a room on the ground floor so no natural light & it was noisy until the bars closed (think this would be...

We only stayed here for one night. Its a beautiful hotel, with original features the only downside was the rooms were incredibly tiny. I don't think I've ever had such a tiny room! Breakfast was very average and the coffee awful, but apart from that I enjoyed my stay.

Our group arrived at Hotel Colon on 1 July and we were initially charmed by the beautiful architecture and features of the lobby area. However when we got to our room, two single beds had been squeezed in with only 12 inches between them. If my travel companion and myself got out of bed at the same time we would...

The hotel was undergoing much needed renovation when we were there. It is convenient but noisy. Our room was cupboard size but clean and perfectly adequate. Food was mediocre and the staff rather disoriented by the large tour groups passing through. There are some lovely old colonial touches, but not quite enough to increase the stars. You would not regret...

The Hotel Colon is right smack in the middle of the old main street (Répública), now a pedestrian mall. The narrow, cobbled street itself is lined with busy stores, business offices, banks, window mini-shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries and coffee shops; peddlers share the side street corners selling trinkets and food from push carts and there are a couple of...

As once more I can not find an entry for the restaurant, I write here. We did not stay in the hotel, but had lunch in their courtyard restaurant. After a stroll through old town Camagüey, this was a lovely calm place to relax with a mojito and a light lunch. Service was slow, but friendly. The hotel is in...
