Not sure why my thorough Airbnb review isnt currently posted on their site, so I will knock a star off. I see 6 of the 8 reviews here in Tripavisor are also deleted for whatever strange reason. I wrote that rooms are great though beds are very stiff (all budget places in Cuba), the power was out 3/5 days of my stay, usually for an hour but one day was like for 8 HOURS, and unless a group of musicians comes to practice 8am or a bus crashes out front of the home, you will have very peaceful sleep. The artwork is spectacular! So kooky and a definately highlight. I wished to buy some and take it home! And I mentioned that the above hosts are abroad and the real host/star is a young local named Randy, who is your real point of contact. Besides carrying your luggage up steep stairs, calling you an airport cab and giving detailed suggestions and directions, he's funny, friendly and just plain awesome! My whole trip was better knowing Randy.Eat pizza with him! fell free to pass off some CUCs/CUPs his way on your way back from Cuba. I also mentioned in my ad that unless you are high maintenance traveler or physically impaired you will enjoy your stay. But just know that Centro Habana is in archetechural decay so be prepared for what you will see, learn some Spanish--seriously, take .50 taxi collectivos, photograpah all the awesome street art, visit the malecon, and avoid overly friendly scam artists that trick you into buying them expensive drinks! Note to owner: If this gets deleted I will repost.…
Perfect location two blocks from the Malecon and a short walk from the Prado on Calle Colon. Our host Ulises was outstanding! Very friendly and helpful, and knowledgeable with things such as the best value on cigars, nightlife, how much cabs should cost, etc.. Teresa and Camilo, the other two people on staff, also provided great service. Our group of 6 had decided to have breakfast there the first day (optional at 5 CUC's each per day) and then go out to other places the rest of our 5-day stay. It was so good though, that we had breakfast there every other morning, even the one where we needed to eat at 6:30 AM because we had a tour of Viñales planned starting at 7:30. No problem for Ulises and crew! Nice rooms with private bath, and only 27 CUC's per room per night! Can't recommend this place highly enough!…
We stayed for two nights with a group of eight friends. The location is perfect, right beside the Malecón and two blocks from the centre of town (5 minutes to the Old Town). Beds were very comfortable and the A/C was a welcomed reward after walking the streets in the heat all day. The hosts spoke English perfectly and made fresh and tasty breakfasts each day at the time we requested. They also helped with booking very affordable transfers and even helped with our washing when we came back to Havana after travelling around the country (even though we were staying at a fancy hotel for our honeymoon). Really great people, great place and we had the perfect stay. Thanks Ulises, Rayna and everyone else for all your help in making our stay so memorable.
