I have booked this hotel to spend the last night in Havana before returning home, I can say it was a good idea, the hotel is under refurbishment however the management team have done everything for not to feel this, in terms of COVID-19 protocol, I can asure the staff folllows the H&S procedures, there are hand sanitizer dispensers at the main entrance, reception, all common areas including lifts, thank you to Nubia at reception for her fast and professional check in, really make me fell welcome to the hotel, a big thanks as well to Mayrelis F&B at the snack restaurant, very welcoming, professional and care person, she over exceeded my spectations I wanted to buy a bottle of water because there were any on the mini bar, she told me I shold have one because it is included on the price and without hesitation she gave me one bottle as well as coffe ans sugar, that is a 5 stars service. Thank you for your service I will return in January. the rooom 6109 was really clean and nice, I will recommend this room. Food quality was exceptional, I have tried the Italian restaurant and really enjoyed. I will highly recommend this property to stay it is located on Miramar a very nice quiet area.…
It must be a great hotel in normal times, the staff is efficient and friendly, and the room was super clean. But they have drained the pool, and the room service is very limited. They seem to be trying their best. See you soon in better times!
This hotel is a little bit out of the way. But the free bus ride to town is worth it. The driver was very friendly and although we did not speak the same language we understood quite a bit. The food is ok with a lot of choices, the rooms were well catered for and the staff superb.
The rooms had everything we needed: en-suite, safe, TV, balcony with great view, good range and quality of toiletries [we'd have been happy to go without these, so that the locals could have used them!], comfortable bed and plenty of storage. There are pleasant seating areas on each landing. The food was good, very good by Cuban standards, and service was always efficient and friendly. The station for cooking fresh fish in the buffet restaurant was disappointing, as too often the fish was either over-cooked or partly raw. Currency could be changed at reception and there is concierge service. On the ground level there are several shops and other restaurants. The swimming pool is large and and attractive. One drawback is the location - there are a few bars and shops nearby, but they close early and the hotel bus to the city centre stops running in the early evening. The nearest stretch of beach isn't particularly pleasant. The other drawback for us, and this is obviously subjective, was the loud music / band in the bar area near reception: there were quite a few people like us, who wanted to chat quietly while having a drink and this was impossible because of the excessive volume - this has reduced my score by one star.…
Our stay at Melia Habana was wonderful, and highlighted by our experience on their complimentary bus service. The wonderful driver, Jesús, was very helpful in making a special stop for us. He also told us all about the buildings and history in Cuba as we sat in the front seat. We accidentally left a walled with a large amount of cash on his bus, but he found it and returned with it to the hotel a few hours later without a dollar missing. If you’re looking for a nice hotel with a wonderful bus service to/from other parts in Havana, Melia Habana is a great choice! Make sure to say hi to Jesús for us!
