Beautifully decorated and furnished in old Cuban style, especially the lounge and breakfasting areas which had balconies overlooking the pretty Plazuela del Angel. The Hostal (which has 5 rooms) is on the second floor up a dark staircase of 57 steps, although there is a lift that can be used for luggage. Our room was very attractive, nicely-sized and airy with high ceilings, comfortable bed and a colourful tiled floor. Bathroom was OK but the water pressure in the shower and wash-basin was a bit low. We were greeted with a cubalibre on the house, and given a super breakfast of fresh fruit, bread, toast, guava juice (and guava jam) coffee, ham and cheese.

We stayed for a week in the middle of high season in December. Adi, Christian, and the rest of the team were very helpful and considerate. The breakfast was yummy and filling, and they were very gracious to accommodate the odd hours we kept - arriving late and sometimes leaving quite early. The rooms are charming, the ceilings high, and everything works perfectly. Skip the big hotels and stay here instead!

I went to Cuba on a lark. A friend called and had a deal on a tour with a good photographer/teacher, on short notice; without thinking it through, I agreed to go. Couldn't be happier. That Hostal del Angel was great and nicely located. Only downside is that wi-fi is weak, as it is everywhere in Cuba, but we learned to adapt to a lack of Internet access.

We just spent seven nights in this building (one of three run by Christian and his family). We were lucky enough to have Adi looking after us. We had never been to Cuba before and so needed more help than we usually do. While we had preplanned some of our trip we could have left everything in Adi's capable hands. She got us tickets to the ballet, to Rosaria's Social club with local Cuban music and arranged every detail of our day trip to Vinales. Thanks also to Laura for her help. Christian was also often there and he is lovely. Impeccable English terrific knowledge (we loved the eggplant caviar at La Guarida)and a genuine interest in his guests. House is perfectly clean and beautiful. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay. Our only complaint is that you all work much too hard.

A very comfortable Casa Particular where we were made very welcome and comfortable, with a lovely breakfast to start the day. It was in an ideal location just around the corner from the Museum of the Revolution, with some bars and restaurants nearby - Habana 61 was a particular favourite. Only a short walk from so many attractions in the Old town for shopping, relaxing, sightseeing, touring and drinking. Our bedroom and en suite bathroom had the tallest ceilings I've seen in a very long time.
