Yanilla is the hostess of hosts. She set up transportation and lodging for short trips, gave us the scoop on local places to see, answered tons of questions, and was upbeat and encouraging from arrival to departure. She even made tea and coffee for our 5:30 am departure for the airport. Others have written about her beautiful villa, and indeed...

We stayed in Yanila's casa on our 3rd night in Havana, and we were so pleased we did. We had been staying in central Havana which was fab, but it was nice to head to Vedado and see something different. Yanila's casa is a very pretty and the back garden was a leafy oasis which was lovely to relax in...

Yanila and her family have restored this wonderful villa from 1926, and furnished it with care to keep its character intact. She said that the original owner was a Spanish noble woman, which is easy to believe. The ceilings must be 16 feet high, fabulous stained glass lamps, and an inviting garden in back with a small pool for cooling...

A memorable place to stay. Spacious, interesting Cuban art expressed in shower curtains and prints, excellent hosts and nice staff. Wonderful breakfast and lobster dinner. Good and safe location. Though someone complained the bathrooms are not modern, remember this is a house built in 1926. A modern bathroom would clash with the style of it. A fun experience! Also generally...

When we arrived at Hosteria Cartacuba, we were met by Yanila. She greeted us warmly and ushered us inside, like an Aunt who we had not seen in many years. She showed us to our room, which was air conditioned and comfortable within a beautiful colonial style house. As soon as we arrived in Cuba we discovered one of our...

We've only stayed in Hosteria Cartacuba for two nights and I have to say that we really felt like home. Yanila and her husband are very nice, warm and welcoming people and always willing to help. Yanila helped us with our plans, she arranged for us all casas around Cuba (which were also all very nice), she has a lot...

I was first time in Hosterija Cartacuba for all together 3 nights. And I must say I got all the best in whole Cuba. Owners Yanila and her husband "Maestro" :) are the nicest people I ever met. Yanila planned all the trip for me and my friend so we didn't worry for booking in other casas. All the rooms...

Yanila is Cartacuba's greatest asset, and it has many. She is very cheerful, funny and kind, she helped us a lot with arrangements regarding our rental car and she advised as very well about travelling safely with your own wheels. The breakfast buffet served on the rooftop restaurant is good, the evening meals are plentiful and yummy. We stayed at the...

This may have been the nicest place we stayed during our trip. The hostess Yanila and her husband have the most beautiful place. Built in 1926 and restored with care. She was also very knowledgeable and speaks several languages.

We don't usually write reviews but wanted to add our voice to the others speaking highly of Hosteria Cartacuba. Our family of 5 (my husband, myself, our two sons and my sister-in-law) just returned from a lovely week with Yanila and family. We rented the four rooms in the main house and it was a perfect base for us. We...
