Stayed at this amazingly located apartment recently, and was both amazed and surprised by the location, views and service received. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were both friendly, knowledgeable and offered terrific advice on where to go and what to see. A rough diamond from the outside, but comes recommended for those seeking enviable location, friendly knowledgable staff and service.
We picked this guesthouse primarily because of the view and its location, but the rest of our stay here was also excellent. The room we booked was clean, modern and well-equipped. The bathroom had a great shower with a seemingly endless supply of warm water, which in Cuba can be a luxury. Most of the rooms are in the back of the building, away from the noisy street, so they’re rather quiet even with the airco running at night. There’s a shared area with a balcony, where a nice breakfast including good coffee is also served. It offers a great view of the iconic seafront below and is a perfect place to relax and watch the sunset in the evening. The hosts at this guesthouse were very friendly and helpful, and it was great chatting with all of them and learning more about the local culture and history. After staying here for 4 nights, we decided to book one more night for when we returned to Havana to catch our flight back.…
Great view on Malecon. Before going to bed I enjoyed to seat on the balcony and to watch old cars passing by. The promenade and Cubans, which are hanging around and listen to the music, will bring you the feeling of relaxation and freedom. The room was clean and with air conditioner, the personnel are super friendly. There is around the clock 1 person in the house who can help you.
My wife and I stayed at Malecon Sunset Guesthouse for 4 nights. The location is great: Awesome view from the balcony and 10 mins walk to the center of old Havana. Hosts are very friendly, Rubben and David gave us a lot of useful info, also answered many questions about the City and Cuba! The experience at Malecon Sunset was way more than we expected!
The stay was perfect!.. - Super nice host !! very friendly - Super nice view, it is on the 2nd floor - Very clean, clean toilet, room - minibar when you are hungry and thirsty - Location perfect - Airco
My priority in selecting this property was the view, but I came away with so much more! The rooms are lovely and bright and fresh, bathrooms are nice with a great shower, breakfast was plentiful, and of course the location made it easy to access Habana Vieja as well as Centro. But I think Natalia, the host, was the best thing about it. She was so responsive when I connected online with her, I knew that guests would be well taken care of when staying at her casa. And she is literally a font of information on what to do and where to go. While many hosts can make suggestions, Natalia does more - she listens and tunes in to the type of traveller you are, and makes suggestions tailored to your particular interests. I'll definitely be back, and for longer next time.
My son and I stayed at Malecon Sunset for a total of four nights on our recent trip to Havana. This location is right on the Malecon, the promenade that everyone walks in the evenings to view the amazing sunsets. The area is filled with buildings that are beautifully restored as well as derelict but don't worry the Malecon Sunset is recently renovated. The rooms are clean and comfortable with fans, AC and mini-fridge. The common area for breakfast overlooks the Malecon and is great for people watching. Have a question on where to go or how to get there? Rubben and Johnny are super helpful and welcoming. Rubben gave us bus fare one day and Johnny packed a lunch for us on our last day since we left very early in the morning. They made us feel right at home and enriched our stay in Cuba immensely.…
My husband and I visited all of Cuba in April / May 2019 and stayed at the Malecon Sunset in Habana twice throughout our trip - I can't speak highly enough of what Natalia and her team have created, not a single detail has been forgotten. The property itself is beyond comfortable, perfect air conditioning, water pressure (including hot water) and amenities in the rooms and a really lovely communal breakfast / bar area. Speaking of breakfast I think Malecon Sunset's was the best of all the Casa's we stayed at in Cuba. The view from the property is stunning and it is perfectly located to walk into the old town and beyond. Natalia is one of the most beautiful and helpful people I have ever met, she is more than willing to share all the best spots in Habana (and all of Cuba)! Some of Natalia's suggestions were our absolute favourite experiences of our entire trip. You simply must stay in Casa's when you visit Cuba and Malecon Sunset is one of the best, please don't stay anywhere else! I would stay with Natalia and her team again in a heartbeat, I would pick Malecon Sunset over the fanciest hotel in Habana! You can't go past the welcome and overall experience of staying at this property. We can't wait to return.…
We stayed 2 nights here at the end of our trip. Rooms are new and stylishly presented. Breakfast room, bar and balcony where you can sit and watch the Havana streetlife, sunset and old cars go by, and the evening activities on the Malecon. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely hostess Natalia, who is also a tour guide so a grest source of knowledge. Just a few minutes walk to the old town, art and revolution museum. Highly recommended!
We selected the Malecon Sunset guest house for a recent friends trip to Havana. We were a group of 5 so we chose the option of booking the entire place for ourselves. This game us 5 individual bedrooms, and the common areas for ourselves. But, this isn't necessary. Each of the large 5 bedrooms is secured by its own key, and is totally private. Each has its own air conditioning controls, mini fridge (that is stocked with reasonably priced water, soft drinks, beer and snack), safe for valuables, and private bathroom. The beds are comfortable, and the linens are comfortable. The guest house is staffed 24 hours a day, and the team couldn't be better! They are there to make your stay comfortable, and make sure that you have all you need. Taxis, directions, recommendations, welcome cocktails, and anything else you can think of. The breakfast is quite tasty and plentiful with breads, cheeses, pastries, coffee, smoothies, juices, and made to order eggs each morning. Enjoying breakfast with the awesome water and malecon views is a great way to start the day. Coffee to start the day, or beers to take across the street to end the night on the malecon, they have you covered. I would recommend to everyone, and I plan to return. I can't say enough about this hidden gem!…
