#1 of 328 hotels in Havana
Residencia Santa Clara is not your typical casa. Although you will find the same warmth that most Cuban hosts offer, the building, the service, the experience is of different level. Residencia Santa Clara is also an exceptional example of modern architecture within the constraints of Old Havana.

The Residencia Santa Clara was the first place we stayed at in Cuba after we arrived. It’s a really lovely little hotel, worthy of all the good reviews it gets. Our room was very comfortable - although the sliding doors mechanism for the loo and shower requires good communication skills to avoid accidents! There’s a couple of nice terrace areas, and the ground floor bar and restaurant was really cool. They opened it for breakfast, but it seemed pretty much closed the rest of the time (although we could get a beer there if we asked). WiFi was possible here if we asked.

Hi there! - thank you for your hones review and the 5* - Although there has never been a problem, we will be looking at introducing some safety mechanism for the sliding doors. It will be probably be some sort of "Wallace and Gromit" solution, but we'll come up with something. Normally the cafe/bar opens all day but because Havana was not open as normal and we have some few clients (we are normally full), we could not run the normal openings. As you know, we are living very strange times but we look forward to resume to some normality from April onwards.

We loved this little hotel. Clean wonderful staff and service and a great location. The food and drink were outstanding. Highly recommended! Air con and WiFi aswell as COVID compliant. A doctor popped in regularly and nothing was too much trouble. We loved it.

After a disappointing hotel experience in Varadero this was a very pleasant surprise. Very clean, innovative design using lots of recycled materials. Comfortable bed and absolutely lovely, welcoming staff. Couple of things stopping me from giving 5 stars - we were unable to get the safe to work despite Dahlia trying to help us with it and the boiler for our room kept tripping meaning we didn't have hot water for a shower. It's in a good location for exploring Habana Vieja and it's the only city centre hotel we've stayed in where we were woken by a cockerel. It is quite noisy all through the night so if you struggle to sleep with noise it's probably worth investing in ear plugs. Good breakfast and wifi available in the restaurant/bar area . Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

Hi, thank you for feedback and we understand the hesitation about giving a 5*. Normally we are very quite at night which can be confirmed from previous reviews that there have been no complaints but in such central location these things can happen. We are very pleased that overall your experience was good. We are looking into all your comments and we will be fixing the things that let you down. Come to Cuba again and we are confident the overall experience in the country will be better! :)

This Casa is an absolute gem. We stayed here for four nights in February and enjoyed every minute of it. The decor is a delight with recycled materials being used imaginatively everywhere. The location is perfect for exploring Havana and it is in a quiet street. The staff are wonderful, caring and friendly....they work very hard to make residents at home and happy. The food is superb.....don’t you believe it when folk say that Cuban food is poor as this place turns that on its head!

If you are going to visit Havana, then you need look no further than Residencia Santa Clara for your place to stay. Ideally situated in Habana Veija (old Town) it is in easy walking distance of all the interesting old streets which Havana is famed for. The staff here are truly amazing and nothing is too much trouble, from a freshly cooked meal to the best cocktails in Havana, mixed by Sergei and Armin. The rooms are clean and well appointed. We stayed in room 3 which had a really unusual arrangement with the bathroom which worked so well in the limited space available, really quirky!. Remember you are staying in a "Casa" in the city therefore it comes with all the sights and sounds associated with a residential location. If you like staying in Sterile corporate hotels, this is not for you. However, if you want to experience Havana life....book today.
