Very good stay at the hotel, friendly service, clean rooms as well as the common areas of the hotel. The pool is kept clean, at the nautical point on the beach they are very attentive. In the specialized restaurant they serve you very well. The biggest problem is the lack of variety in the buffet, mainly during lunch time

Excellent beach, we were from 02/25-08/03, few people on the beach. The rooms are cleaned well every day. The food is normal, you won't go hungry. Every day from 10 to 5 there is a bus to Havana, the cost is $5 per person (round trip), a child 5 years old travels free. There is a swimming pool (I didn't really like it). Air conditioning in the room, balcony. A local band performs periodically in the evenings. Overall the hotel is very quiet, there is not much to do. I chose it because of its close location to Havana and the opportunity to travel there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I advise you to go here for a relaxing holiday and the opportunity to visit Havana. The vacation was wonderful 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Going into it you need to remember you are going to a 3 start hotel in Cuba. I will admit, the rooms are not perfect, were I to get a room like this in Canada, I would be outraged. But the beds are comfortable, the shower works albiet the temperature is tricky to get right, even then it fluctuated. The food is bland, but that is normal for Cuba, but you can always find something you like. The bar doesn't have much selection its beer, wine or rum but no fancy drinks, however there is a stand on the street close to the hotel that sells pina coladas. All that concidered, if you want to be near Havana, this is the place to go. This is the ONLY Hotel in the Havana area that is directly on the beach, The rest are across the street or a few minutes walk from the beach. The beach is really nice, although there are local beaches close by so there are usually locals around. Visiting Havana is definitely one of my favourite parts, and I love being close by. They also have a really great pool as well, and it is always cleaned regularly. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to Havana for the day. There are only about 20 seats available per day, and you have to book ahead of time. You can also take the bus for 5cuc if they free seats are all taken. Guanabo is close by, 5cuc taxi during the day and 10cuc in the evening. There are many great restaurants there, a nice change from the bland hotel food. Chicken Little is great as well as Restaurante 421. What really makes up for the old hotel is the staff. They are extremely friendly and is the reason I keep going back. I recently booked my 3rd trip. Once they find out you are Canadian, they will talk to you for hours. They have games throughout the day and entertainment most nights. Kindness goes a long way with them. I have always found a couple waiters I like and tip every meal and they will go out of their way for you because they know you will tip and appreciate it so much.

Good evening, after having stayed a week in January and a week in May with my wife and other friends, in this modest hotel, finding myself happy with the location, practically on the sea, having to spend a night near Havana, to have someone visit it couple of friends, I book a single room and a double room. At the reception, we find a young girl who could do anything except receptionist. Everyone welcomes us with great kindness, given that when I was there I sang traditional Cuban songs in karaoke except her who didn't he remembered. He assigned us rooms with only one sheet, dilapidated rooms, without remote controls for the television or air conditioning and, listen, listen, the toilet bowl full of water that flowed out and the water appeared at the entrance of the entrance door. To my complaints He claimed that it would be fine for one night, as if we hadn't paid for the rooms. Obviously I made a fool of myself with the couple of friends I had brought since we were coming from a 5 star resort. The following morning, having to leave for Havana, at the reception, we found the very kind lady who remembered that I was a customer of the hotel and asked me if everything had gone well, she was shocked by what had happened, immediately calling the quality manager to whom she explained what had happened. They were sorry but didn't try to fix it. I go to Cuba 4 times a year and I found it a good base for Havana. Some people claim, to justify what happened, that the situation isn't very positive and I replied that it's not the right time passing Cuba creates these situations, but it's the people you meet who don't know how to do their job or do it on purpose to lose customers. I already have tickets for May and they have lost 3 doubles for a week. Good evening

Great location, on the beach. Easy bus ride to Havana. If you are a foodie, Cuba is not for you, also if you can't eat pork as sometimes that is all there is. If you can eat pork, rice, fish and plenty of fresh fruit, you'll be fine. There are power cuts and it's no frills. Special shout out to Ramon in the restaurant and Delvis at the front desk for superb service, all the other staff were also great and went above and beyond to make our stay great.

This place is stuck in the 1970s, with accommodations that look like hospital rooms, staff who are desperately unhappy to work there and food that is scary to eat. It is not worth the beach view to be so far away from the city. Go anywhere else to stay in Havana.

I've been traveling the world for over 30 years, never seen anything like this. Abandoned place. No service despite my tips and smiles. The food... We don't go to Cuba for the gastronomy but you need a minimum. A la carte restaurant closed 4 evenings out of 6. Smashed beds, endless slamming of doors, all done by hotel employees! Screaming between rooms and so on. No wine with dinner but... It is possible to buy some though. I always try to be positive so I end by saying that the beach is beautiful. To be avoided, but really.

Great location near Havanna, beautiful beach, typical Cuban buffet, thankfull for close restaurants. Were told we had to pay for drinking water at the bar.Beds were comfortable however renovated rooms were not what we would consider renovated in Canada. NO faceclothes, cheap internet in lobby 1$ per hour,We have traveled Cuba before and don't expect much however the stray dogs screwing in the hotel bar and pissing on the many flower pots around the hotel was disgusting.Dogs barking most nights all hours.Complained to front desk staff and Sunwing rep with no resolution. This hotel could be so much better with a few changes.

Such an awful hotel. Needs a lot of restauration. This is a one star hotel. Untasteful food with not much variation. The restaurant was like eating in a military cantin while the staff watched you so you did’nt steel or walk away with your coffe to the bar. The bar just served beer, rum and coffe. Everything in small plastic glasses which you could see thrown away all over the place including the beach.

I have been at this hotel a few times over the course of +30 years. I have always known that the buffet wasn't great but always got a decent meal at El Caribeño, the a la carte restaurant. This time, it was a disappointment, i made a reservation twice. the first time the fish was so salty that i though it was salted cod. one day there was balsamic vinager for the salad but not oil, The next day they had oil but not vinager. I asked for salt and they brough it in a plastic glass. out of 15 days i only stay 3½ days. I came to havana, going back the last 2 days, just for the transfer to the airport This was my first visit after covid. they still have some health measures that make the buffet even worse. You can't serve yourself so. many times, i got some food and i have to wait for a server to get some other items while the hot food was getting cold. Then at the table you have to wait for a waiter to bring you the cutlery. at one breakfast my omelette was so cold I couldn't eat it. I skipped lunch twice and got a ham and cheese sandwich at the pool. to me the buffet is like a workers canteen. the food is not attractive although it tastes good, and limited variety. For the salad there is never dressing. The diluted yogurt with water; a server one day couldn't differentiate between yogurt and milk. hot water was a miss. no glasses in the rooms and no place to buy bottled water the good side: it is right at the beach, friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the beds nice and firm.
