We’ll make it very easy for you. You can discover the historic centre of Havana on foot, staying in either one of Iberostar Parque Central’s two hotel buildings. From the character of this historic building to its modern design, you can walk through a decorated tunnel that is like taking a journey through time. The hotel interior gives you more than five stars, as can be seen on both upper floors which house the swimming pools and sun terrace. Take a dip in one of the pools while the light floods across the dome of the Capitolio, and you will see that any description of luxury we give you falls short. As well as the facilities, which can host conferences and meeting rooms with all the necessary equipment, Iberostar Parque Central is also a benchmark for gastronomy in the city.

The Iberostar Selection Parque Central, nestled in the heart of Havana, is celebrated for its central location, making it an excellent base for city exploration. Guests are captivated by the hotel's rooftop amenities, including pools and bars complemented by live music, creating a lively atmosphere. The staff at the hotel earns praise for their friendly and helpful nature, although there is room for improvement in service training.
While some guests feel the value is reasonable, others caution about higher costs for services. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with special mentions of spotless rooms and a pristine rooftop pool. However, guest experiences with the rooms are mixed, with some facing issues related to noise and upkeep but others finding them spacious and comfortable.

Havana is a city worth exploring and this hotel is in an ideal spot to do just that. It is at the heart of the action and next to museums, close to the old town, overlooking the area where iconic cars offer trips around the city or to landmarks on the outskirts. You have to remember that you are in Cuba and don't expect everything to be available and running smoothly but there is a sense that the staff here will do what they can to sort out problems. There are many engish speaking staff and we had some really good service. The money exchange booth is particularly handy, just keep in mind that you cannot change your Cuban money back to sterling here. The plugs are mostly European round pin but the second time we stayed her the room had multi plug sockets. The breakfast is extensive with fruit, omelettes, churros, cheese, cold meat, cakes, yoghurt and freshly baked bread that is served straight from the oven. The rooms have nice toiletries and bathrobes and our air con was quiet and effective in both rooms. We stayed on the seventh floor and had fantastic views. Havana is a busy and noisy city with music playing - take earplugs and relax into it. The hotel puts on salsa evenings and the one we went to was really good fun, the band ( all female) and the dancers were excellent and we had lots of fun whilst enjoying views over the city from the rooftop location. The prices of the food and beverage menu at the pool bar are pretty similar to what you would expect from a hotel in the U.K. But the setting adds something special. The hotel has live music in the main foyer throughout the day - fabulous quality music in a range of styles. The lifts in the colonial side were fine but did seem to break down intermittently - we used the stairs from time to time.

When in Cuba you need to temper your expectations as the situation is difficult and they just don't have access to many things needed for maintenance. Overall I was pleased with the Iberostar Parque Central. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and bed comfortable. Could the bathroom use some new caulking, sure, could the rooms use a fresh coat of paint, yes. Did I see a couple insects, yup, but on the whole, given the circumstances this is definitely one of your best choices (Kempinski being the only really high end option). I stayed on the "modern" side which is accessed from the front entrance through a passage way, or down the street a bit from another door. I can't comment on what the other side of the hotel was like (where the main lobby is). The AC worked reasonably well, the shower had lots of water pressure (though I had to back it off as it drained slowly). WiFi is pretty much limited to the lobby though in one room I had I managed to get a signal in my room when I found the right spot (but don't count on it). The location is great, view from the rooftop pool is fantastic. Would I stay here again? Yes absolutely especially give the Kempinski is no off limits for US citizens.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
This was my fourth stay at this hotel in last 2 years. Hotel has two parts - the older colonial style hotel & the newer more modern style part. Both have great rooftop pools with free use of towels & loungers. Pool side service for drinks & food. Rooms comfortable and air conditioned coffee maker (cartridge type) & free coffee available in room throughout stay (although I had to ask for coffee machine on my last stay but it arrived within a couple of hours). Only drawback is you only get one free bottle of water regardless of length of stay - pays then to go out and buy a large bottle if staying for more than one night.
Food is excellent and reasonably priced.

We stayed in this hotel the night back before our flight back to London.
The hotel location is ideal, right in the heart of the city centre. It also has two roof bars and two rooftop swimming pools which are fantastic with great views.
Breakfast was included and the buffet offers a wide range of choice.
That said the furniture in the rooms looked a little tired. We stayed in the older colonial building, and I felt the room was not that large for the price paid.
Whilst on the whole the service was fairly good, some of the staff (quite a few) were sadly fairly grumpy and unwilling to help. The hotel also had a shop where we wanted to buy a watch that was meant to be open between 9am-9pm, but on the two days we were there was always shut bar once.
Whilst I think this is a very good hotel, with good facilities and location, personally I think it offers poor value for money. We chose a slightly larger room at about £400 a night. At that level, which compares with similar cost for staying at the Shard or Ritz in London where we have stayed, I’m afraid the Parque Central doesn’t justify that level of pricing especially in a developing country. When we landed in Havana we stayed at a private flat v near the city centre where we had three bedrooms, and two bathrooms, to ourselves for £60 a night and breakfast included. Next time O won’t be staying at the Parque Central.

Hotel is in an absolutely ideal location to explore Havana with all local sites easily reachable on foot. Would highly recommend but please note the pros and cons below.
Pros
Location
Staff (particularly Janet in the kitchen and Guilermo the waiter) - super friendly and nothing too much trouble
View from rooftop bar stunning
Clean rooms (every day)
Breakfast great selection
Cons
Lifts frustrating - one out of service, the other two a long wait
Swimming Pool very cold
Not the most authentic Cuban / colonial hotel compared to Hotel Sevilla or Nacional

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our multi centre holiday to Cuba. Absolutely fabulous hotel, we had a modern suite, separate lounge, dressing area, good sized bedroom with 2 large beds, massive bathroom with 2 washbasins, large bath, shower cubicle, separate toilet within bathroom. Also a separate toilet, two televisions, safe & mini bar. Hotel is a great base, can walk to all the tourist attractions. Fabulous views from the roof top bar and pool. Get the tour bus in the square and see where you would like to visit, can get off and back on with your day ticket. This is the best way to visit Revolution Square. Havana is like going back in time, classic cars are fab. The streets are alive with music & dancing. We went to a show at the Hotel Nacional, go early to have a walk around the hotel. Havana was worth a visit and wish we had stayed for longer.

We arrived at the hotel after midnight. The front desk said that we were to stay in the ‘modern’ building. Our room was a complete dump. We stayed in the room that night but moved over to the original, colonial building the next morning. Staff at front desk were unfriendly and of course we had to pay an extra $350 to move. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. The ‘new’ room was better but really nothing special. I barely slept as the pillows were uncomfortable and there were no blankets on the bed. Loud music played outside our room every night until after midnight. The breakfast buffet had everything imaginable however unless you chose to have eggs made to order, it all was very mediocre. Servers were not friendly. Coffee was awful. The pool was loud and not relaxing. I won’t be going back.

The hotel has a great location, as it is walking distance from La Habana Vieja. However, for the price charged, service level is just average. Breakfast is unimpressive. Bedrooms are spacious and modern, but the supply of bathroom materials is limited (always have to ask for more soap, shampoo). Elevators are hideous: slow and cleary underdimensioned for the size of the hotel (lines take long, especially during breakfast hours and evening). Also on infrastructure there is a bizarre passage connecting both buildings of the hotel. The staff is unwilling to go beyond the basics to make your stay remarkable. They would only do that when they get something in return, as the security and doormen that are currently approaching you to give restaurant tips, just to walk you there and get a rebate from the owner. Also, beware not to leave any coins or money unattended on your room, as it will be taken as tips by housekeepers (and I don't only mean over the tables, I mean inside drawers and closets too).

We stayed here for 3 days. On arrival there were not any double rooms available, but the reception Manager upgraded us immediately to a city view room so we could have a double bed. We had a room on the modern side of the hotel, as it is actually 2 buildings. There was only one lift working out of 3. The pillows were lumpy, and the shower water leaked into the hallway, but it was a clean and comfortable room. The bathroom was lovely with robes, and a good range of branded toiletries The pool area on the roof is stunning with amazing views of the city. What really stood out for me was the staff and service at the hotel. Truly impeccable. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly and polite, There was always someone at the entrance to welcome you, and Concierge are very well informed . The hotel is very well located to explore Old Havana. We had an amazing stay and will stay here again. Well done to the staff at Parque Central

It has the look and feel of a 5 Star hotel but don't let that fool you. I gave this place a 3 rating because that is really how many stars it should be.
We got to the hotel at 3pm. We couldn't check in because check in is only after 4pm. So after a long trip we had to sit in the lobby to wait for our room.
The food is mediocre at best. Nothing better than the average Best Western. The service for the most part is pretty good with the exception of some of the staff needing attitude adjustments.
The drinks were all well made from all the bars in the place.
Took some attitude from the cigar girl in the lobby because I asked her to trim my cigar and if she had a light. It was a cigar I bought outside the hotel.
We tried to fill a water bottle from the restaurant in the morning and we got scolded for doing that.
Wifi is free, but for the week we stayed we were only allowed 5 hrs of service. Really? I know it is Cuba but the service was there in the hotel.
Tried to call down for room service but we could not find the number to dial for the service. Nowhere in the room was there a card or listing to get to room service. Not even on the room service brochure in the room. When I went down to the front desk to ask, everyone scattered. One guy said dial two then couldn't look at you.
The chamber maids were very good. Took good care of you.
The rooms are big with big baths and the rooms are quiet. The bathroom was well appointed but not well constructed. The shower leaked water all over the floor with use.
I know this sounds like I may be a bit precious but it is supposed to be 5 star. I can't afford to stay in that kind of hotel very often. I just expected better for a 5 star hotel.
