Excellent location, easy to walk to main attractions, right by Havana Vieja, very good breakfast, sympathy of staff, nice rooftop and swimming pool, very nice rooms, cleanliness, variety of food at meals,
When we arrived at the hotel for our two day trip in Havana, we had to wait a long time before we were even acknowledged at the reception desk. We were eventually welcomed and were asked to fill in forms on our arrival and being slightly early to check in, we arranged to leave our bags and check in after two hours. On our return to the hotel after a walk around we had to wait yet again to be acknowledged by the what seemed like very unorganised reception staff. They obviously do not communicate with one another or have an efficient filing system as after 10 minutes of looking for forms we had previously filled in, we were asked to do it again, only for the gentleman who welcomed us the first time to appear with our room cards all ready. The room which was immaculately clean, spacious and provided fantastic views of the Capitol building. However there were no complimentary bottles of water provided in the mini fridge which is a bit disappointing for a five star hotel. We decided to have dinner in one of the two restaurants on our first night which looked promising with a varied menu. It was very quiet with only three tables (including ourselves) dining, but the staff seemed to be floating around doing nothing rather than checking if you wanted another drink/more water. When it came to ordering I was told my option was not available, so I opted for another, which was also unavailable. I then decided on a pasta dish which was rather basic for what looked to be a fancy 5 star restaurant. The bill also seemed a bit ridiculous for what we had, coming in at nearly $100 for two mediocre starters, two alcoholic drinks and two very average main courses. If items are not available on the menu the staff should be informing the customers when they arrive to avoid disappointment at the ordering stage. Another problem we had whilst staying here was the terribly slow service from the bar staff in the main area. We waited more than 15 minutes for a drink only to be blatantly ignored so we ended up walking down the street to another bar where we got served immediately. On the second night my partner asked the barman Jon if we could buy some big bottles of water to which he said bluntly "we don't have any" then looked away. My partner then asked if they had any small bottles, and again Jon replied "we don't have any". Finally he asked if we could at least get some glasses of water and he had to wait 10 minutes to receive these. Lastly, the people who stand outside the door heckling you to exchange your currency with them gets pretty annoying after the 10th time. The should be moved on as these people don't seem to hang around any of the surrounding hotels doing this. Overall I would not recommend staying here when coming to Havana.…
Great hotel with central location. Great food and the service was excellent. Rooms cleaned daily and the reception were great at helping with any queries. Would definitely recommend. Also the pool bar was good. Only downside was the gym was closed for a few days
We arrived around 10pm tired after a long journey from UK We went to our room and our first impression was that smelt clean and was very roomy. We went down to get a drink and some food, we ordered a 2 x Cuban sandwich, and had 4 beers and 4 glasses of wine. The sandwich was acceptable but the fries were disgusting (overcooked in stale oil) and inedible. We were brought the bill it was $97.50, I was told I had to pay by credit card - It's a complete rip off !!! After a good nights sleep we woke to see the room in daylight, we were not impressed. The glass on the balcony door needs replacing, there are marks on the tired furniture the electrical socket is falling apart and dangerous, the floor is very tired and worn, the shower is old, falling apart, leaks and goes off whilst in use and there are many cracked tiles on the floor. There is no complimentary tea/coffee facilities, no mini bar and no complimentary water. The TV reception is very poor. The breakfast buffet was reasonable but the coffee is awful. We cannot recommend this hotel !! …
We stayed here for 3 nights before moving onto Varadero….this hotel is beautiful, all staff very friendly and helpful from check in to check out Our room was always spotless…..we stayed on the 7th floor with a view of the parque and what a view it was…. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice something you suit everyone I’d say We are and had drinks(soft and alcoholic) up on the roof top bar,the food was very tasty as were the cocktails…the staff up there were very nice and service was always quick and easy Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Havana with plenty to do round about Havana is a beautiful city to visit it took my breathe but then my whole 2 weeks in Cuba was amazing Thanks guys
Great location...but that's it. Don't waste your money and time...it is much better service , in other, cheaper hotels in Habana( non exists in Parque Central ). Breakfast is fine ,but dont expect service. Reception wont help you with anything and the restaurant on the roof level is great, but with no service... I do travel a lot and it was pathetic... Dont know , if thise people, just hate to work , or hate guests. Also , the hotel allows beggers and aggressive sales people attack you 3 feet from hotel entrance.... It was like fighting of mosquitoes....every times we got close to the door... Dont use the taxi drivers parked beside the hotel, they will charge you double...wonder , whats the cut for the doorman. Also they got noisy renovations going on. Didnt bother me as much, as we stayed out most of times. We were really disappointed with Iberostar,it will take some time , untill We consider, staying in one of their hotels.…
This hotel is in a nice location however I had always problems invite guest . The security everywhere, i had the felleing i am in the police building where everybody watches me where I go . If i wanted to talk the duty manager, after i talked to her she just disappeared coming back to me with answers ! What a behave haha, incredible ! If you want to be free dont choose this expensive hotel ! Beauty is not everything in life LOL
Stayed here twice. Best hotel we stayed in in Cuba. Attractive lobby area, with large bar. Excellent breakfast, and evening restaurant. Attractive roof top pool, with bar, and meal facilities. Decent rooms; cheap toiletries. And good location, overlooking Parque Central. What can you do, that after running a tab, the surly hotel checkout tells you -credit cards only. Not us, of course, government policy. What can you do ,when you point out that, at 10 pm, the night before, hotel staff happily received pesos for a big bar bill; yet a second bill, signed for, must be paid by cc. The obnoxious front desk managers, and staff, repeatedly insisted on this cc foreign currency policy, despite 1 0 of us stating that the hotel happily accepted pesos from us at the pool, at the bars, and in the restaurant. We realise this review is unusual, but the deeply unpleasant receptionists undid all the plaudits the hotel deserves.…
Dear Iberostart Team, We had a pleasure to stay into your Hotel Parque Central in Havana. After two weeks travelling around Cuba it was like a paradise arriving here. Everything works perfect and all the process are very good organize (check in, rooms, retaurants...) Besides the perfect organization what impressed me most was the friendliness of all employee here, for example Mrs. Consuelo (Pr. Manager). She is extreme costumer oriented, always trying to resolve all the problem of the client, and making the impossible possible, walking around constantly and addressing the clients if they need help before even the client needs to go to the reception (Consuelo is faster) and all these in the very natural cuban authentic atmosphere. In every seconds we had the feeleing to be welcome like in a family not like in other Hotels were you know that the employees are just friendly to you because they want your money. I have been to other 5 Start Hotels in Cuba but for me stay in this Hotel was a nicest. thank you and see you soon…
Bon hôtel pour une escale de quelques jours! Service parfait, bonne climatisation, chambre spacieuse! Gricel is great for public relations. Cigares perfecto. Roof tip pool is nice too. Clean and professional. Nice location in the heart of La Havana. We will come again surely
