We stayed here for 3 nights. The bathroom was filthy with hairs everywhere and the cleaner didnt change the towels our whole stay. The bed was very uncomfortable and the chairs in the sitting area were gross. The breakfast was ok lots of options if you want to eat lunch for breakfast. The coffee was terrible. The roof terrace had great views across the city and the bar staff were great pourers with the rum. I would not stay here again.
We was skeptic before booking the hotel as the reviews were mostly awful, but we gave it a go. We needed it for sleepover on 3 days anyway. But we were pleasantly surprised. Sure it's old, and it's not really 3 star hotel by European standards, nor is fancy... But it does it's job and it's cheap. I really doubt you can find any better for that money, I've seen worse hotels that were more expensive. We had a room on 8th floor. The view was great towards the ocean. The location is arguably the best in Havana, having walking reach to pretty much everything you need to see in this city. There was a TV with a cable, and an old air conditioner, which did it's job when needed. The food was OK, not much choice, but what was there was tasty. The stuff was nice. The room was fairly clean. But it didn't have hot water. That wasn't an issue for me, but some people might have a problem having a shower with that water. All in all, pleasant surprised, and it was good stay. I recommend this hotel to those that don't look for fancy stuff, and want to save, as its great value for it's money.…

I experienced some trepidation about booking this hotel ,its reviews were less than fawning. Pleasantly surprised my room [ 810] had a lounge with a TV in it clean sheets each day 4 windows, reasonably clean bathroom, fresh towels each day.The Hot tap gave out warm water after some persuasion, only Saturday morning was it completely cold. Safe boxes are available to rent ,[kept under the reception desk]2 cucs a day,[£1.40] .The staff were helpful and polite, the breakfast is on the top [9th floor],an open air terrace,a bit eclectic, but there are boiled ,poached eggs and ommelletes made to order, cheese, ham,,assorted fruit , pastries ,juice, coffee, and tea bufffet style. You have a good view over the ocean. Every Friday night there is live music up there. The hotel is good value for the money,[I paid £20 a night bkfst inc]its about a 15 minutes walk to the main drag Calle Obispo and their is a night club in Avenue Italia, the Piano Bar just 5 minutes walk from the hotel which is open till late[a lot of Havana wraps up at midnight ]its 5 cuc to get in and drinks are local bar prices. The hotel has a bar open till late ,just behind the reception, but not many people use it. All in all it isn't the Savoy but excellent value for the money ,I would stay there again.…
