My wife and I spent 6 days/5 nights without being able to leave the room due to the Covid19 restrictions in Cuba. Still, we found the staff very friendly and very cooperative. My wife is diabetic and the staff of the Comodoro was very accommodating to her special diet. When I told the kitchen that she liked Cuban tomatoes, they made sure that she had a plate of tomatoes for breakfast lunch and dinner. Our room was very clean and spacious. If you have to go to Cuba during the quarantine period, I suggest you bring a flash drive with plenty of movies or audiobooks.

After spending 4 days in Havana at a beautiful airbnb, my spouse and me decided that after our 3 day trip to varadero, we would get a hotel to end our trip. Spoil ourselves. This had to be the worst hotel we have ever been to. The moment we arrive and saw our room that had cracks in the walls and it was dirty. The whole place is under construction, the pools are either empty or dirty. They ran out of chicken and only offered sandwiches. We had to taxi to a restaurant to find a good meal. We asked for a queen and got two single beds. The one bed caved inwards and you could feel the springs. It was a dispointing end to our holidays. DO NOT stay here!

I don’t know if in Cuba they don’t do revisions to the properties but this Hotel has 4 stars and it shouldn’t be considered even a 2 stars (taking into account the property and the service). It seems like when it was built (many years ago) it was a nice hotel but they haven’t invest one penny on renovations in lots of years, the pool is on reparation, the walls are broken and dirty, the lights in the way to the rooms are all down. It’s like a horror story of an abandoned place. Additional to all this the “service” is terrible and the employees are always trying to find ways to take your money and ask for tips every 5 seconds... this is extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. Not finished yet... other than the abandoned installations and the employees always trying to insist with tips... they hand us the room very dirty. I’m normally not a delicate person, but as you can see in the pictures this was an extreme case. There was even a dirty long hair at the toilet sit... I call to report this situation and they took more than 30 minutes to send a cleaning lady who came to the room without equipment just to ask what happened (which I already had explained to the lobby over the phone...) Than she said oh yes your right let me come back with equipment... took another 10 minutes to come back with her equipment but without uniform to clean the room and deeply excuse herself for the situation. This apology didn’t make any difference at all...delivering a room like it was delivered is unforgivable and I lost time of the trip that I had planned for lots of other things and not staying on the room waiting for it to be cleaned at a “4 stars hotel”. I really had the worst Hotel experience of my life at this awful place. Whatever you do... please don’t go here!

We have made our worsest holiday via travel agent Bubo Slovakia (not recomended to worsest enemy). Our sad trip start in this hotel, represented as a base standard in Cuba. We spent 4 nights at The Comodoro Hotel in November and December 2019. This hotel is old, and in need of bigger repair; but generally was our stay good. The staff was excellent; friendly and helpful. Good restaurants, good bar options of local drinks, and a commercial center with change and internet. The location is Miramar near sea and Russian ambasy, which is wery safe, quiet, and upscale......but 15 minutes drive car to Old Havana. The Bungalows are large and spacious, have fridges, bedroom and living room and AC and television. The room service maids do an good job, as do the staff in the Breakfast buffet, which is varied and good choice for Cuba. Price for hotel is in reality lover as was charged by our tour cheater Bubo travel but generally was or stay OK. Wifi work good, room was clean, shop was well loaded with goods and food was very good. Thanks for stay.

My room flooded the last night I was there, due to a storm that produced the only known F4 tornado in recorded history. It blew the glass from the doors and several windows out in the lobby. The staff handled it well, and I barely noticed due to the marvelous Mojitos and Cuba Libres that the extremely nice bartender lady was pouring! The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast buffet. If you are from the U.S. and want to complain about the Comodoro, I might first suggest spending a weekend at the Super 8 in Memphis, Tennessee. The room rates are comparable. My friends and I are planning another trip to Havana this fall, and we intend on staying at the Comodoro again.
