Cheap motel. Dusty sheets no water or lack of. Not hot water. Decent breakfast. Not to bad considering what I paid. Customer service is really bad. They want to charge you for everything. Good location.
We loved the idea of sitting on their veranda drinking Pina Coladas in the sun, but when we arrived the staff rather curtly sent our taxi driver to another hotel saying they were closed till November (it was April). That hotel said we had no booking there but the kind receptionist found the hotel Colina had moved us to and ordered a new taxi - it wasn't a patch on Colina and on the wrong side of town. Incidentally, I have scrapped better cars than the second taxi but that's the Cuban experience - things often don't work very well and sometimes don't work at all. 60 years of the US blockade hasn't helped!
My son and I arrived late from Ecuador and a full day of travelling - and checked in around midnight. After to-ing and fro-ing over whether we had booked and paid for two rooms (not one as they wanted us to have) we finally got to sleep in rooms that smelled like people had recently been smoking in them. The signs say no smoking but there are ashtrays everywhere including beside the bed - and I sneezed all night. Worse to come - the cold water in our room was not working so we had no flushing toilet or shower for the time we were there. There were no facilities for us to use so we had two days of grime in the heat which was not fun. We left the next day feeling like we'd had a really bad introduction to Cuba and hoping for a better result at our Air BnB (which we got thankfully). Staff were polite - but couldn't say much as it was a bit if a disaster.…
The Hotel is nothing special, rooms are old and (after Europa standard) are not so good. But it is placed on the best spot in Havana. And the cafe is very good.one of the servants Raoul is fantastic Remember to give a little more than the bill is on. So you will never wait, you will always get the service first. I have been there for several years, the staff often change, but Raoul is always there and I am always looking forward to seeing him and hotel Colina ;-)
Got this because of low price. Woke up every night because of the screaming coming from the street. They gave same room card for another customer. We were inside room when she walken in. Got unsecure feel. Bartender stole money from me. Dont recommend.
