Beautifully maintained for 91 years, great service and fabulous food. The lobby is breathtaking and surrounded by the ocean and manicured gardens. Truly 5 Star. It feels at times you are staying in a museum that can transport one back to the opulent Mafia inspired times of the 40s and 50s.

Hello. Past June, 6th I stayed at the hotel along with my father, my husband, and my in-laws to celebrate my father and husband's birthdays. That day, at 12 AM we went to our room and around 3 Pm I woke up due to a loud bang on the door. We heard an heated argument that didn't allow us to fall asleep coming from the room across the hall . The fight last until 5 AM and we decided to call reception and then security immediately came to our floor. My question is: where was the security guard in charge of watching the 24-hour security cameras? The next morning we realized our door and 3 others were broken, and we figured it was because of the loud noise we hearn at midnight, assuming the guest from the room across ours had kicked to door. The hours went by and none of the workers of the hotel came to us to give us an explanation or at least an apology. Besides, the second security officer asked us if we were somehow related to that person's reaction. The next day, around 9 AM, we woke up because of loud noises coming from outside the room. It turns out that the maintenance guy was fixing the door while we were still in the room. We went to see the PR of the hotel, we explained what happened, and they claimed they saw my husband and I leaving the room as if we were involved in the situation. I denied that accusation and asked them to show us the security footage. They said it wasn't necessary because security agents were already investigating, even though when the people who did it were at the Police Station and paid for the damage. So, why do they assume we were involved if we didn't? The solution was to give us three extra hours to be in the pool after check out,  when expenses are on us. I would also like to add that we we not properly assigned our rooms and no one printed the time schedules for us because apparently "they were all out of paper". No one gave us the card for the welcome drink because the receptionist was pregnant and she was having a bad day. Now I wonder: Why do you have to wait until you receive a complain from a costumer to intervene and fix the situation? Why do we have to look for an apology and be offended by false accusations that only turn out to be excuses? In my opinion, the hotel management and direction are terrible. The National Hotel is only well-known for it's name now, nothing else.

La salida/check out del hotel es a las 12.0 m y extendimos este horario con usted para tener una deferencia, no creemos que compense alguna insatisfacción. Las opiniones negativas nos ayudan a mejorar nuestros estándares de servicio y aceptamos las cuestiones que señala que son mejorables como lo relacionado con los trabajos de mantenimiento y sus señalamientos durante su check in. La Dirección del Hotel analizó con la profesionalidad requerida los incidentes tomando las medidas organizativas y disciplinarias en correspondencia con los hechos señalados y lamenta nuevamente que se haya retirado del hotel insatisfecha, todo lo contrario a la mayoría de los clientes que hacen estancia en nuestro hotel.

We had a great pleasure to visit this hotel recently. We spend an amazing days, enjoying of all areas and services. All health measures to prevent COVID-19 are quarantined. Copy of the Breakers in Palm Beach but that is about it. Reception does not know the word customer service, looks like the IRS in the medieval ages. No credit for 1 night that we did not want to stay as cockroaches fell out of the ac. The carpet was probably 50 years old and the bath tub, yes more than 20 horses bathed there, grey no longer white. This is not a 2019 hotel but a 1940 hotel completely used and in need of a full refurbishment, so beside ocean terrace this is a real disaster !
