Spent 10 days in Havana, most of which were at the Hotel Nacional. It is a beautiful & well-cared for hotel, with efficient & friendly staff. They have a great breakfast buffet and a wonderful veranda with musicians on hand most of the time. Everything worked well and the history of the place is worth not missing! It was much...

I loved being here. Staying in this hotel gave me a very real sense of the grandeur and opulence I could never havecafforfed if I was here in its heyday. The rooms were large, spacious, and warm with a pleasant breeze coming in from the sea. The staff were lovely, friendly, and provided good service. There are large gardens over-looking...

My wife and I stopped by to see the historic hotel. May be the most beautiful stop in Havana. In the midst of all the dilapidated buildings of Havana the Hotel Nacional provides a glimpse into the city's past majesty.. The view of the ocean from the rear lawn in spectacular and a spot all visitors to Havana must have...

this hotel has an interesting history and excellent location, nice but basic landscaping - however the standard rooms leave much to be desired. So after one night we moved out and got much more adequate accommodations nearby. Another key problem is the staff who seems to confuse the lobby with a train station where chatting among themselves takes priority. We...

It must have been fantastic 60+ years ago. It was still exciting to see this famous Grand Dame. The lobby is faded but hints of glamour. The meeting rooms were acceptable. I found the help friendly particularly the bellboys. The rooms were disappointing--dark with old furniture and poor lighting. The worst thing both here and elswhere in Cuba were the...

Lovely historic hotel sat right on the sea front but the staff were unfriendly. I felt as if they were aloof and the staff within the restaurant were particularly poor. However, if you can put the staffs attitude aside this a great hotel to stay in as you join the long list of celebrities who have done the same.

Wonderful experience. Loved the people who are still wondering what it would be like with Fidel gone. Do blame lots of their problems on USA because of the embargo. Yet, have very little infrastructure to manage a free society. Would return for a second look. Traveled with Friendly Planet. Never again. Day 1 meet at Miami hotel. Promoted as 6...

Travel to (and in) Cuba is difficult, but so very rewarding. It's a country stuck in time, full of people who are also stuck, hampered by an old regime, old laws, an old embargo. If you're an American, you'll most likely go there on a tour and won't have choices in hotels. We got lucky when our tour stayed here....

Excellent place to stay in the Havana area. You are about 10 mins to Old Havana via cab, and about 25-30 mins to the airport from here. The food in the garden restaurant was ok, not fantastic but good. Service in the bars was always good, and prices extremely reasonable. Great cigar shop downstairs as well! The staff seemed very...
