Simon was the perfect host who gave us plenty of information regarding Habana and Cuba in general. His location is great, a 15 minute walk to Old Town Havana, and close to hotels to book excursions. Simon is quite an interesting character! He will inform you how to avoid getting tricked on the streets, and warns of common scams, all with his great humour. He helped us with money exchange, and gave us plenty of pre-arrival information, and helped us organize our taxi to his Casa. Stay here to have a memorable time in Cuba!!

We had this casa arranged for us by the casa in Trindad. When the taxi arrived, I must admit I looked at the street & thought, maybe it would be a bit rough. Quite the opposite, the area was completely safe & so close to the centre. We found in Cuba that the wifi in the casa didn't agree with iphones, not a problem, Simone told us the way to a hotel around the corner with a great wifi signal & who sold Ectexa cards. The breakfast was great, as always in Cuba, the hosts were friendly & very helpful. One thing, if Simone gives you a recommendation, take it, we found a gem for eating thanks to him!! The rooms were clean and there were fresh towels every day. Barbara helped me with my Español too. A taxi to the airport arranged, arrived on time. Couldn't fault it.

I booked Simone’s house last minute by chance. I am Italian and I thought it would be nice to stay at a fellow citizen’s place and be able to ask him some suggestions about Havana and the rest of my trip. Surprisingly I got much more than that! Simone’s house is such a contrast with Havana. The rooms’ decoration is simple but what makes the difference is the cleanliness and resting feeling of the house, it’s central location, Yaima’s great breakfast and Simone himself. He is an attentive and super energetic host and he can recommend you the best places in Havana and find you the best deals for everything (transportation to other cities and to the airport, restaurants, souvenirs etc.). He could also change my euro to CUC so I didn’t have to wait in line at the airport. He should open a travelling agency since he was able to find me accommodation in other casa particular in almost every town I wanted to visit during my trip. That relieved me from the stress of looking up places for myself and losing time during my trip. All the places he recommended were great. I travelled solo as a woman in Cuba and knowing I could count on somebody in the country was a nice reassuring feeling. His motto is Simone l’italiano vero…un amico sincero and indeed he is!!!
