Artehotel is the most inspiring boutique hotel in Havana. A beautiful private house that after more than a hundred years has been transformed into a peaceful and welcoming place with an exceptional location to get to know Havana.
Artehotel is located just 50 meters from Línea street, one of the main arteries of communication in Havana, where the most important theater and concert halls and art galleries in the country are located. That is why Artehotel is part of what is known as the "Linea cultural corridor". Demonstrating this belonging, Artehotel is a frequent meeting place for top-level artists and artistic and cultural activities such as concerts, photography and painting exhibitions, book and record presentations are regularly held. All of this is part of the spirit that its owners, the award-winning actress Laura de la U and the photographer Héctor Garrido, dreamed of from the very beginning.
The surroundings of Artehotel is the beautiful neighborhood of El Vedado, where some of the most beautiful mansions from the 1920s are located. Around Artehotel are located many of the most interesting restaurants in Havana, both international and fusion cuisine. and even Cuban "criolla" food. There are also multiple pizzerias and small fast food bars and places to try refreshing drinks and enjoy Latin jazz concerts, traditional Cuban music, troubadours, etc...
The Zunzún Café is the outdoor space on the upper terrace of Artehotel. A beautiful place surrounded by vegetation and fresh air where you can enjoy good music and some Cuban drinks at sunset.
Finally, the famous Malecón de La Habana is only a few meters away and is the place where the city is always alive.

Dear Owners of the ARTeHotel, Let me tell you about my experience at your hotel for the last few days. I'm a foreign exchange student. I was really struggling to find an apartment until my mom found your hotel with excellent reviews on TripAdvisor etc. I'm most touched by the good heartedness of all your employees I've met especially Oswaldo and Denis. They have helped me in any way to make my stay at your hotel really comfortable. Most importantly to me they shared their good hearts. Consider yourself lucky to be able to work with them. We spend amazing few days in this beautiful cosy place. This is not only a hotel. This is also a gallery full of art. Thanks to Osvaldo Vega and the rest of the staff we felt like we were not in one of many hotels but like visiting a house of our friends. I happened upon this place because Cuba Exclusivo (management company) changed a reservation I had to a new reservation over 100 miles away from where I wanted to be. They sent a message but I never saw it (they also won't refund me even though I never confirmed the new location and didn't stay there). However, that allowed me to stay in a great boutique hotel. They treated me like family as soon as I walked in the door! The rooms were great, the breakfasts were outstanding and best of all was the staff! They treated me like I was a VIP guest from the start! They have a rooftop deck that is as relaxing as anyplace in Cuba! I enjoyed my stay tremendously (and extended my stay by a day)!

Truly felt like staying with old friends. Architecturally, it preserves some of the best of a beautiful old house in a lovely neighborhood in Havana without being fusty. The staff (folks like the ever-helpful Osvaldo) are always waiting in the wings to assist with whatever request you have but will never overwhelm you with attention. The location is conducive to ambling nights wandering around, always in perfect safety. The rooms are full of personality, each with its own artistic theme. I got an interesting lesson on Cuban culture in each of the ones we stayed in. Breakfast each day was lovely. I probably should have availed myself of the full menu, but my small morning appetite prevented this. (Everything is made or prepared to order — we tended to have fruit, coffee, tea, and juice each morning, but heartier options such as eggs and tostadas are also available.)…

I just got back from a 7-night stay at the ArteHotel Calle 2 Havana and had an extraordinary time. The ArteHotel is owned by Laura de la Lis, an extremely well-known actress in Cuba (you mention her name to anyone in Havana and that person knows of her and is impressed that you are staying in her hotel) and her husband, Hector Garrido, a renowned Cuban and Spanish photographer who has published many books of his stunning photographs. The ArteHotel is a private hotel in a renovated mansion containing only 6 rooms on a quiet street. The rooms are fabulous and the entire hotel space is incredibly beautifully designed. The lobby areas have stunning (and huge) photographs by Hector and each of the guest rooms is decorated with a different artistic theme (mine had huge photographs of dancers). There’s a very pleasant breakfast room (with a great breakfast each morning) and a rooftop deck – all impeccably designed by Hector and Laura. But what is most noteworthy about the hotel is the friendliness of Hector and Laura themselves - and their entire staff. All were very helpful and knowledgeable about everything in Havana – from restaurants and places to go in Havana (and ways of getting around the city) to openings of art exhibits, museums, artistic events, and shows (in one of which Laura was appearing while I was there). Two considerations: there are steps to get up to the lobby as there is no elevator in the building and don’t be confused by the similarly named “Art Boutique Havana” on Calle Habana 155 in Old Havana. It's a different hotel entirely. But to summarize, I can’t recommend the ArteHotel Calle 2 Havana highly enough. Go and enjoy your stay in Havana. …

Where to start? The 6 modern, recently renovated, well-equipped rooms are each decorated to reflect a different type of art featuring Cuban artists including photos taken by Hector (a photographer and owner). The shared areas are large, well-lit, and full of books and interesting art on the walls. At the two ends of the dining room are hummingbird feeders in the open windows, frequently visited by two resident hummingbirds (Celia and Bene). Most impressive for us however was not the just the excellence of the facility, but the warmth of the staff (Oswaldo and Danni in particular) and the owners (Laura and Hector). Laura and Hector are internationally known artists and warm and engaged hosts. The team constantly tried to anticipate our needs. Two examples: 1) we returned from biking mid-afternoon on New Year's Day, having skipped lunch. In short order, we were up on the rooftop with a series of delicious freshmade snacks and cocktails, watching the sunset over the Atlantic, 2) the first morning our family of 11 all ate breakfast at a single table in the dining area (we are not sure why we did this). The next day the room was rearranged to one large table. The rooftop is nearly complete and will be a bar and performance space so it will get even better! I work for a luxury travel boutique and I've been on site inspections for five days during August 2022. I stayed at this beautiful petite hotel and the experience was very satisfactory. The staff is remarkable helpful and kind, if you are planning on staying here, look no more, this is your hotel. The rooms are big and comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and the shower has excellent water pressure and temperature. Breakfast is abundant and a la carte, the fruits and juices are delicious. The location is ideal, only a few blocks away from bars, clubs, the Malecon, etc Special mention to Dani and Osvaldo for going above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant and easy, always with a smile on their faces. I will be back soon :)

I can't say enough about how wonderful my stay was at ARTeHotel! I stayed here for a week as part of a group. The staff (who really is more like family) always welcome you with a warm smile and a genuine desire to make your stay as positive as possible. They took great care of our group of 9 and had breakfast ready for us every day. I traveled in Feb 2022 and things are especially challenging for Cubans these days. The hotel always had fresh fruit, milk and other items that some government restaurants did not have. I especially want to recognize Junior, Osbaldo and Laura, the owner. The hotel is in the beautiful, green neighborhood of Vedado. A walk through the area highlights some of the grand old architecture. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

Everyone (Oswaldo, Mario, Junior and the whole team) was on top of every detail, super friendly. They had great recommendations and accommodated non-Spanish speakers with alacrity. The rooms were spotless and inviting with AC, beautifully appointed and representative of the arts that gave the place its name. It felt very secure and welcoming with a staff member on call 24/7 in the facility. Breakfast was generous and fresh with a lovely presentation. Great experience!
